UPDATE on NY's "criminal" investigation of Trump

This morning, we reported that the attorney general of New York State, Letitia James, has announced she's opening a "criminal" investigation of Trump's business dealings. Like the Manhattan DA's Trump probe, this is an investigation in search of a crime, motivated purely by Trump-hate and a desire to "get" him after years of investigations that have turned up nothing.
Trump has now responded, and it blows the lid off what they're trying to do. His response is included within a solid opinion piece from RedState.com. Enjoy.
A fishing expedition

Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance is fishing to find anything to charge Donald Trump and his company with. At the link, Instanpundit rounds up a few reminders, from protecting Harvey Weinstein and Jeffrey Epstein to spending $250,000 in asset forfeiture funds on fine dining and luxury travel, of why it’s Vance who more likely deserves investigation.

Standing up to “woke” nonsense works

The NCAA threatened to remove championships from states that protected girls from having to compete with trans males who “identify” as girls. Many of those states’ leaders told the NCAA to pound sand and started talking about forming a new collegiate athletic association that puts sports ahead of enforcing insane leftist dogma. And guess what?
The NCAA backed down. Alabama, Arkansas and Tennessee will host girls’ softball tournaments as planned.
Incidentally, it occurred to me recently that the “trans males are biologically the same as girls” argument isn’t the first time Democrats have adopted school sports policies that flew in the face of biological reality. Remember way back when they cared about women’s rights, and there was a big feminist, “grrrl power” move to force schools to allow girls to play on boys’ sports teams?
We don’t hear much about that anymore, maybe because it soon became obvious that it’s a bad idea to let girls be crushed under a pile of football players who are all three times their size. But in case there’s still any doubt, a recent University of Glasgow study of three years’ worth of injury data involving about 40,000 teenage female soccer players in Michigan found that – brace yourself! – girls and boys are different!
The study found that girls are nearly twice as likely to suffer concussions as male players. While male players are more likely to be injured from colliding with another player (maybe because of more aggressive play), girls are most often injured from contact with equipment, such as the goal or ball. They’re also more likely to suffer concussions just from butting the ball with their heads.
The professor who authored the study said the “mechanism of injury appears different between boys and girls,” and this raises “the question of whether sports should consider sex-specific approaches to both participation and concussion management.” Gee, you think?
Now, imagine really defying biological reality by putting girls who are more prone to concussions just from butting the ball into the same game with biological males who are twice their size and more prone to injuries from violent collisions with other players. That sounds like a harebrained recipe for disaster. It’s also the current Administration’s official policy.
Shocked & Baffled

Liberal academics and media figures are shocked and baffled over why the creator of "The 1619 Project" -- America’s most infamous recent act of leftist academic fraud, a debunked, divisive, racist, anti-American distortion of American history -- wasn’t rewarded with tenure at her university, the same way she’s been rewarded with high-profile media appearances, lucrative speaking gigs and prestigious awards.
And you know what? I’m with them. I, too, am baffled as to why she didn’t get tenure from one of today’s universities. Her defenders are blaming “politics.” As hard as it is to believe that a university would yield to conservative criticism, I guess it’s easier to believe than that academic standards are back. You're less likely to see those return to today's campuses than to see raccoon coats and swallowing goldfish make a comeback.
Eye-Opening Article

For those who refuse to see how racist “Critical Race Theory” is, read this account by an Indian Muslim immigrant of how her family and others in their Asian-American community were harangued with dehumanizing racist attacks by a CRT-pushing white liberal school official, who told them they needed to “check their privilege” because it’s unfair that their kids studied hard to get into a school for high achievers that didn’t have enough black and Hispanic students.
A Viral Video of President Biden

A video went viral comparing President Biden botching a joke to a silent Coast Guard graduating class and Ronald Reagan telling the same joke to Coast Guard cadets in 1988 and getting cheers.
People are noting that Reagan was almost the same age then as Biden is now, yet he still had perfect delivery. That’s true, but what I noticed is that Biden can’t stop plagiarizing other politicians’ material. Let me know if, in his next speech, he tries to get laughs by doing my “In Case You Missed It” bit.
Incidentally, after Biden ad-libbed a “joke” by threatening to run over a reporter with his car for asking a question about Israel, I can understand why he steals other people’s material.
