Stop hating Rudolph

December 7, 2017 |

More proof that social justice warriors are scraping the bottom of the barrel for things to be outraged and offended about.  Over at HuffPo, they’ve realized that the 53-year-old classic Christmas TV special, “Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer,” contains (gasp!) bullying, sexism, “othering,” and more very bad, double-plus-ungood non-PC offensives!

Why, yes, it does.  Breaking news: Rudolph is ostracized because of how he looks.  Why, he’s not even allowed to join in any reindeer games!  Uh...that’s kind of the entire point of the story: he shows them all that what makes him different also makes him special.  The elves realize that the outcast who wants to be a dentist is actually needed.  The misfit toys that nobody wanted find homes.  Everyone who acted like a jerk realizes it and apologizes, and ends up celebrating the “different” ones they’d bullied.  It’s like the SJW’s “Greatest Story Ever Told!” Except SJWs have found a way to be offended even by that.  Apparently because they didn’t pay attention to how the story ends, only how it starts.  So they’ve found a new thing to be offended by and ban: premises for stories that work out fine in the end.

From now on, every story must begin with everything being perfect and stay that way!  No adversity to overcome!  Wow, is that going to make every TV show, movie and book incredibly dull and pointless.  Almost as dull and pointless as wasting your entire life hunting for things to express outrage about on the Internet.

Two comments. 1. When using Scrooge as a model of bad behavior, most often those complainers overlook the main point of the story...Scrooge learned his lesson and was redeemed at the end of the story. He is, in fact, a role model for the concept of improving one's behavior and becoming a contributing member of society; a man to admire. Just think how much better off our country would be right now if the Pelosis and Schumers put country before self. 2. The process of graduating high school students who have not attained passable grades that would quality them for a diploma is old news. Case in point: my son was a victim of this mindset and left high school a walking illiterate. Once out on his own, he soon learned that he had been short-changed and proceeded to spend his first summer on his own teaching himself how to read...with the help of his extensively read grandmother. Fast forward: After years and years of study and experience he is now an board certified emergency room doctor saving lives every day. Just remember the ugly duckling and how he became a beautiful swan. Just because someone seems at present to be a loser does not mean that person will stay that way forever.

This is really beyond ridiculous. It's beyond having too much time on their hands - these people are just mean. Governor, you best make sure your wonderful daughter doesn't allow her children to watch the TV show or have the story read to them.

Maybe red-nosed reindeer should have their own collage funding, their own music awards, their own movie awards, their own TV channel and then bitch about being oppressed. #rednosematters.

This shows how bad things are! Kids today are automatically passed and given participation trophys. We don't allow any real world things so when they graduate high school and go to college or out to the work world, they're not prepared! Everything offends someone!

The left won't be anything alone and they won't be happy until everyone is a snowflake. Absurd!

If they took the time to come to a logical conclusion, it would cut into their time to find more things by which to be offended.
