The Lord makes firm the steps

Quote of the Day!

Thanks to Ned Ryun at American Greatness, who tweeted this quote from the late, great P.J. O’Rourke, illustrated with a photo of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau: “At the core of liberalism is the spoiled child – miserable, as all spoiled children are, unsatisfied, demanding, ill-disciplined, despotic and useless. Liberalism is a philosophy of sniveling brats.”

More on the CNN Meltdown

We don’t learn much about current events from CNN these days, but one thing we have learned from them is never to believe their first story about anything, whether it’s the news or their own internal drama.

https://hotair.com/john-s-2/2022/02/18/allison-gollust-was-fired-for-helping-andrew-cuomo-select-his-own-questions-at-cnn-n449694

Last week, we heard that the exits of Chris Cuomo and network boss Jeff Zucker involved more shady dealings than were previously admitted. Now, the New York Times reports that Allison Gollust, the CNN executive with whom Zucker had been having a “consensual relationship” and who reportedly resigned over that, was actually dismissed after it came to light that she had extensive communications with her former boss, then-New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, including letting him suggest questions he wanted to be asked. Check out the link for more and her unsurprising "everybody does it" defense.

Mask Hypocrisy

Those who insist on forcing children to wear masks indefinitely while flouting their own rules are not all big name politicians and celebrities. Sure, there are plenty of those, and their excuses are as feeble as they are hypocritical.

https://townhall.com/tipsheet/rebeccadowns/2022/02/19/is-la-mayor-eric-garcetti-for-real-with-this-response-on-mask-hypocrisy-n2603535

Even their pet “fact-checkers” come off as clowns when they try to “ackshully…” their staggeringly obvious hypocrisy and privilege away.

https://twitchy.com/dougp-3137/2022/02/19/amazing-politifact-twists-into-a-pretzel-to-debunk-comparisons-of-unmasked-super-bowl-fans-to-kids-in-school/

But mask hypocrisy is hardly confined to A-listers. At a Montgomery County, Virginia, school board meeting, a mom accused a mask zealot board member of hypocrisy, proving it with a photo lifted from Facebook of the member maskless in a crowd.

The board member, like all petty tyrants from Justin Trudeau on down who claim they cherish “democracy” but hate it when the people actually speak up to them, accused the mom of libeling and disparaging (apparently, those are now synonyms for “describing”) a member of the school board, claimed she wasn’t focusing on “issues pertinent to children,” and ordered her to sit down. When she refused, he told a police officer to escort her from the building.

https://www.foxnews.com/media/social-media-erupts-after-school-board-member-storms-out-of-meeting-confronted-by-maskless-photo

But then, another school board member intervened, saying, "She should be allowed to say her piece. I've had to listen to people come and criticize me." At that, the first member stormed out of the room in a huff. Funny, I’m old enough to remember when liberals loved “speaking truth to power.” But then, that was before they came into power.

From the tsunami of support that mom is receiving locally and online, I bet she could easily replace that arrogant school board member in the next election, if she wants the job.

Not So Fast

Last week, a judge dismissed Sarah Palin’s defamation lawsuit against the New York Times. But Harvard law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz points out that the judge was so eager to express a public opinion against her case that he made a legal mistake that might end up doing her a favor by forcing the next higher court to grant her appeal. CRT Comes to Medical Schools

Law professor William Jacobson pointed out to Fox News that in a new ranking of America’s most prestigious medical schools, at least 23 out of the top 25 have imposed some mandatory “Critical Race Theory” requirements and 21 offer materials by the top exponents of racist “anti-racism,” Robin DiAngelo and Ibram X. Kendi.

https://www.foxnews.com/media/critical-race-theory-related-mandatory-top-medical-schools-report

As bad as this is in any school, Jacobson calls it “downright dangerous” in medical schools, where students should be learning the latest in medical science, not a lot of anti-Americanism and racial discrimination. This mixing of leftist race mongering with medicine is already manifesting itself in such throwback racist policies as allocating COVID-19 treatments by skin color.

Jacobson said this should serve “as a wake-up call for the public to pay attention to the damaging racialization of medical education." No matter what color you are, unless you need a skin cancer specialist, you don’t want a doctor who thinks that the most important part of you is your skin, and what’s underneath it doesn’t matter.

Will the Biden Administration see the end of the road on this?

The Biden Administration has been pushing schools to admit “trans” athletes into women’s sports, in blind defiance of biological science. But with UPenn swimmer Lia Thomas mowing down female records like a skeet shooter with a machine gun, the unfairness and the deadly effects on female athletics are becoming crystal clear to anyone with eyes and a brain.

The question is: Do Biden’s eyes and brain still work well enough to realize what everyone else is finally waking up to, as they shake off their terror of being targeted by radical trans activists and, like the little boy in “The Emperor’s New Clothes” (which are now women's swimsuits), start stating the obvious?

News You Can Use

A Harvard-trained psychiatrist and nutrition expert claims to have discovered that three cups of coffee a day is the perfect amount that people should drink for maintaining cognitive health.

What about people who need three cups of coffee just to wake up enough in the morning to find the coffee maker?

Re the Sarah Palin 'non-verdict", I don't know if Alan Dershowitz was being"facetious, but his comment that this may "Bite the judge....in the end" is right on target.

Will someone please send a note to our President suggesting he drink five cups of coffee a day. I cannot imagine a conversation between Biden and Putin. I hope Biden’s translator is trained to clean up his sentences. I cannot imagine a productive conversation. Putin will have him for lunch. This is dangerous stuff when you not only have a cognitively challenged President but an incompetent staff and cabinet. I know one thing for sure, if Trump, Bush x 2, Reagan, Kennedy, Truman, Nixon, Roosevelt or even Obama or Johnson where still in office there would not be troops lined up on the Ukrainian border.

I suspect Sarah Sanders would make a pretty good governor. I have long believed that being a governor is the best preparation for the Presidency. I hope I live long enough to see a Conservative woman as President. Hint, hint.

I have been reading a lot of books about WWII recently. There are so many similarities to what the lefties are doing and what .Hitler did that it is scary. However, the German people got caught up because their economy had never recovered from WWI. Our lefties have no excuse. When they got in to power we had a great economy. Yes, Covid was disruptive but anyone with sense would regard that as a short term condition. So much of their thinking is guilt driven. Strong emotions do not make for sound decisions. You are right, Trudeau is an immature frat brat.

Re CRT : If medical researchers would use DNA to determine beneficial medical treatments, that might be okay.
