No Google, you aren't biased

October 2, 2018 |

Sure Google, we believe you when you claim that your search results aren’t biased.  But it would be a lot easier if your internal communications revealing your staff's stunningly one-sided lockstep leftism would quit leaking out to the public.

The latest example: Republican Rep. Marsha Blackburn tried to be nice to Google in a very reasonable op-ed opposing government regulation of Google as a public utility and urging Google executives to engage in more “reflection” about how to make sure their search engine fosters a fair and competitive free market of ideas.

A leaked email chain shows that key Google employees reacted to that by accusing Blackburn of making “theatrical demands” and calling her “a violent thug” and a “lying liar who lies” (is Google hiring 12-year-olds?)  One senior Google software engineer sniped, “I’m not big on negotiation with terrorists.”

Enjoy becoming a public utility, Google.
