1. Daily Bible Verse:

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.

Psalm 100 KJV

Today's Bible verse was recommended by Patricia W.

2. Grilling Fauci:

Tuesday, Dr. Anthony Fauci was back in the Senate, where Republicans grilled him until he was well-done. Sen. Roger Marshall brought up Project Veritas’ DARPA report leak that we talked about yesterday. It indicates that DARPA rejected a proposal for gain-of-function research on bat viruses that Fauci’s NIH later funded, possibly creating COVID-19. Fauci has been accused of lying to Congress when he denied that the NIH funded such research, and he claimed the story wasn’t true.

https://redstate.com/nick-arama/2022/01/11/sen-roger-marshall-takes-fauci-apart-on-new-bombshell-darpa-report-n504910

Marshall replied that Fauci needs to prove that by producing the unredacted documents. At that point, Democrat Committee Chair Patty Murray stepped in to pull Fauci’s bacon out of the fire by saying she wouldn’t allow “personal attacks.” I will leave it to you to figure out how asking someone to release the government documents that prove they’re not lying to Congress about a disease that’s killed millions of people is a “personal attack.”

But that wasn’t the end of Fauci’s problems. Sen. Rand Paul also ripped him not only for his alleged role in the gain-of-function research, but also for his outrageous “I am the science” proclamation and his attempts to smear, silence and discredit any medical experts whose opinions on COVID don’t support his own.

Fauci tried to turn the tables by holding up a printout of an ad from Paul’s website, but it backfired spectacularly. His intent was to accuse Paul of trying to profit off of attacks on him, but the photo of Fauci holding up a page that read “Fire Dr. Fauci” quickly launched a thousand Internet memes. Paul got the last devastating word in when he tweeted the photo with the comment, “Dr. Fauci and I finally agreed on something in our Senate hearing today.”

3. #BizarreBiden:

I’ve come to expect that every time our President speaks, we’ll be treated to at least one instance each of a demonstrably false personal anecdote allegedly related to the topic at hand, a bizarre claim out of left field, an inappropriate attempt to use the occasion to push a radical big government political agenda, and the misuse of the word “literal.” He checked off all the boxes in this bizarre attempt to comfort Colorado wildfire residents by pointing out the upside of high winds: they will help the government control the weather.

4. Carving up the Filibuster:

For a group of people who claim to love “democracy” and our sacred governmental system so much, Democrats sure do love swinging a sledgehammer at it like HGTV hosts demoing a ‘50s tile bathroom. Has anyone in history ever come up with more creative ways to defend the system by smashing its rules?

While claiming it’s Republicans who are trying to blow up the system, they’ve circumvented Congress by writing laws and making treaties via executive order; and proposed stacking the Supreme Court, eliminating the Electoral College, ending the Senate filibuster, letting non-citizens and felons vote, weakening the First and Second Amendments and taking away the states’ right to set their own election laws. I shudder to think what cataclysmic destruction they’d propose if they WEREN’T trying to “safeguard the system.”

In reality, the only thing they really care about preserving is their own power, and they will obviously do whatever it takes to achieve that, even if it means destroying democracy to "save" it. President Biden’s latest brainstorm is a proposal to create a “carve-out” of the Senate filibuster, to allow his “Legalize Vote Fraud” Act to pass with just 51 votes.

https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/rick-moran/2022/01/11/even-with-bidens-blessing-destroying-the-filibuster-is-not-a-done-deal-n1548581

He claims this would preserve the filibuster, with only this one teensy-weensy exception. But if you can make an exception for one law, you can make an exception for any law that you really, really want, which renders the filibuster power of the minority meaningless.

As for the laughable claim that this is a super-special occasion and they’d never do it again, pinky-swear, consider how quick they were to abuse the reconciliation exception to try to pass a multi-trillion-dollar government-bloating bill full of controversial new laws and programs using a loophole meant only for simple, non-controversial budget bills.

Fortunately, it’s doubtful that there will be enough support to pull this latest end-run around the rules. There may still be a few Democrats left in the Senate who can read the tea leaves and know how it will bite them in the rump if they strip away the power of the minority. GOP Leader Mitch McConnell is already warning them in no uncertain terms that if they go that route, hell awaits when they become the minority.

https://www.theepochtimes.com/republicans-defend-filibuster-as-every-senators-leverage-against-short-sighted-radical-politics_4205741.html

In this case, backing Biden’s “carve-out” idea would result in them carving off their own noses to spite their faces.

By the way, if Senate Democrats need to hear an eloquent defense of the filibuster, how about this quote: ending it “will wash away 200 years of history and mean doomsday for democracy.” That’s what Chuck Schumer said in 2005 when Democrats were in the minority.

5. A Biden-Cheney ticket in 2024?!?:

It’s becoming more apparent with each passing day that, like a dog that chased cars until he caught one and didn’t know what to do with it, leftists in America are incapable of dealing with the predictable disasters caused by obtaining enough power to put their terrible policies into effect and the resulting furious public reaction. So they’re retreating into a strange fantasy world of virtual alternate realities, like Mark Zuckerberg’s Metaverse, only without the fun.

How else to explain New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman’s suggestion that the only way to “save democracy” is for Biden to run for reelection in 2024 with Republican Liz Cheney as his VP?

https://www.foxnews.com/media/biden-cheney-2024-new-york-times-tom-friedman

Who exactly would vote for that ticket? Black voters would be angry that he dumped Kamala Harris and replaced her with a white Republican. Republicans think Cheney is a turncoat and might even oust her in the House primary. And the Democrats’ liberal base hates all Republicans and still thinks her dad was a cross between Hitler and Darth Vader. To be fair, they live in a fantasy world, too.

And speaking of that, Kevin Drum wants everyone to know that in his reality, “the US economy is doing great.”

https://jabberwocking.com/the-us-economy-is-doing-great/

Why, thanks to brilliant Democrat leadership and those huge COVID relief spending bills, the economy is better now than it was two years ago! And if “the price we pay is a bit of extra inflation for a while, then that's not really much of a price.”

In reality, inflation in December was up 7% year-to-year, the fastest rise in inflation rates since 1982.

https://www.theepochtimes.com/inflation-jumps-7-percent-annually-in-december-fastest-pace-since-1982_4208148.html

I’d tell Keven that that’s not “a bit” of inflation, it’s so much inflation that the price we pay for everything is really too much, but I don’t want to awaken him from his dream since he seems so happy there.

6. Another comedian dares to speak out against wokeness:

Steve Harvey said that cancel culture has “killed comedy,” and it’s caused him to step away from doing stand-up. He says that every joke these days allegedly hurts somebody’s feelings, and that when he finally does another stand-up special, he’ll probably have to call it “This Is It” because he’ll never be allowed to do another one.

https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/steve-harvey-cancel-culture-stop-doing-stand-up-political-correctness-killed-comedy

Personally, while I understand his viewpoint, I believe that now more than ever, we need comedians to step up and tell as many jokes as possible about the “woke” left. Knuckling under to them only gives them a greater sense of their own power to censor and intimidate. Comedians have always been society’s greatest weapon against arrogant tyrants, and just because the tyrants are self-righteous “activists” with Twitter accounts instead of politicians or military dictators, that shouldn’t make them immune to richly-deserved ridicule.

In a related story, here’s a must-read article by Bari Weiss at Substack about the dire situation in Hollywood, where leftism and wokeism have many people terrified of saying anything that might offend someone and get them blacklisted (just using the word “blacklisted” can now get you blacklisted.)

https://bariweiss.substack.com/p/hollywoods-new-rules?utm_source=substack&utm_campaign=post_embed&utm_medium=web

It’s gone beyond a welcome openness to writers and creators of more diverse backgrounds to the point where there’s blatant discrimination against white job applicants. That means more racially diverse writers, but also means that good, experienced writers are being shut out, which helps to explain why so much of what we’re now seeing on our screens isn’t fresh, creative, thrilling or entertaining, it’s just transparent leftist propaganda that feels as if it were written by freshman UCLA film school students. It’s why, if you want well-written stories with sharp dialogue, original stories and believable characters, you’ll need a subscription to Turner Classic Movies.

Oh, and NEVER let Biden forget Afghanistan and the 13 soldiers who died. He should be reminded daily along the long list of failures he has done to every American. These 13 soldiers have to be remembered somehow, someway & also the Bobbitt family.

Another great newsletter! All I can say is, I'm sick & tired, and tired & sick with this so called President & his stupid administration. I don't think there is 1 good brain among them. They have totally disrupted this country in every aspect from Covid, immigration, supply chain, racism, lies, elections, and the economy, and any other rock they turn over. Oh, and not to mention all the wasted dollars on investigations. Then we have cancel culture!! Where are we going be in 2022/2024? Everyone one the right seems convinced Republicans will win in 2022. All indications point to that road, but what if there's a curve at the road? We are definitely in fight for the soul of America. Republicans better step up to the plate from now until November!
