Today's Edition

Well, Nancy Pelosi has kept to her strict timetable and will go down in history as the House speaker who made the impeachment train run on time. She has officially announced –- in case there was ever any doubt –- that the House will pursue articles of impeachment against President Trump for his “failure to execute the law.” There will be more hearings on Monday, this time featuring House “intel staff” to testify on the report Congress already has. Wouldn’t it be great if they brought in the member or members of Schiff’s staff who talked to the “whistleblower”? Dream on.

Gosh, and wouldn’t it be great if they trotted out those three law professors again instead? Or maybe this time they could bring in three late-night TV hosts --- Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, Stephen Colbert --- to tell Trump jokes. Jimmy Kimmel could even cry.

Don’t worry about Democrats having to pull a couple of all-nighters to come up with the articles of impeachment by Monday. They’ve been working on those babies for YEARS. They must have already gone through hundreds of drafts. The trick is, how do they make the wording vague enough that they don’t need to prove anything really specific?

I find it interesting that they’re moving impeachment forward on Monday, the very day Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s report on the origins of the FBI’s “Trump/Russia” investigation will be made public. Now, I’m not expecting much in the way of criminal referrals; indictments will be the focus of U.S. Attorney John Durham’s investigation. But tucked away in its over-500 pages will be some no-doubt scathing assessments of the FBI’s policies and performance. In and of itself, the culture of the FBI might not be criminal, but –- and this is the important thing –- it SET THE STAGE for what certainly appears to have been criminal. That culture made it possible for the upper echelon of the FBI to act in two completely different ways regarding Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. I doubt that Democrats want too much attention paid to the report, and that’s why we get “Impeachment Monday.”

A Three Stooges Movie

By Mike Huckabee

The House Democrats’ attempt to weaponize impeachment as a purely partisan political ploy has been called historically unprecedented.  But some analysts are drawing a few very interesting parallels to other idiotic decisions of past eras.

Blogger James Fite makes the argument that by voting for impeachment and charging headfirst into the GOP Senate buzzsaw with no real evidence for ammunition, Pelosi is ordering "Pelosi’s Charge" -- a repeat of Picket’s Charge, the doomed Confederate charge directly into the fire of Northern cannons that lost the Battle of Gettysburg for the South.

Michael Patrick Leahy at Breitbart has a more contemporary comparison, one that actually involves Pelosi herself repeating the same kamikaze-like error (World War II kamikaze missions are another excellent historical analogy for what the Democrats are doing.) Leahy compares it to the arrogant way Pelosi dismissed the anger of Americans, waved her magic gavel and forced Obamacare down our throats.

Just as we had to pass that to find out what was in it, we had a hearing on the “evidence” from legal “experts” who couldn’t possibly have had time to read it, since Schiff’s 300 pages of hot gas (designed to hide the fact that his “evidence” is nothing but supposition, wounded feelings and third-hand hearsay) was released just hours earlier.

Leahy points out that in the next election after her Obamacare offensive, Pelosi paid a high price for her highhandedness and disregard for the will of the people. The Republicans gained 63 seats in the House (an analysis found that 13 of those Democratic losses were due entirely to their vote for Obamacare), and Pelosi lost her magic gavel, unfortunately not permanently.

It’s an excellent analogy, and let’s hope it leads to a similar result.  But even if it does blessedly rid us of this useless, divisive, do-nothing Democratic House majority, the nakedly partisan impeachment, like Obamacare, will still rip the country apart and cause damage to our Constitutional system and the fabric of American society that will linger long after Pelosi’s gavel has rotted away in the ash heap of history.

As for me, I’m reminded of one of those old silent movie melodramas, where we’re supposed to hiss the villain and get all choked up when Little Nancy goes into her hammy histrionics and fake tears. But we’ve seen this schtick so many times, it just appears laughable to modern audiences.

In conclusion, I’ll offer another historical reference that today’s Democrats might appreciate more.  It’s a quote from Karl Marx: “History repeats itself, first as tragedy, then as farce.”  But what if it repeats itself again?  If the impeachment of Andrew Johnson, who assumed office after Lincoln’s assassination, was a tragedy, and Clinton’s was a farce, then what is this?

From what I’ve seen so far, I say it's a Three Stooges movie, with Schiff, Pelosi and Nadler as Moe, Larry and Curly.

I wanted to make sure you also read these comments:

Early Friday morning, the Naval Air Station in Pensacola was placed on lockdown after a report of an active shooter.  At least ten people were sent to the hospital with injuries, their condition unknown.  At this writing, there’s a report that two people are dead, including the shooter.  This is a breaking story.  Please pray for the victims, and keep watching the news for more information as it becomes available.

While the House was attempting to impeach the President for doing what he was elected to do, here’s what else was going on the world:

This morning, the Labor Department announced that US hiring surged in November, with a stunning 266,000 new jobs created.  Unemployment dipped back down to 3.5%, matching a 50-year low.  Average hourly earnings rose by 3.1% over the past year to $28.29.  And job creation for the previous two months was adjusted upward by 44,000, bringing the three-month average to 205,000 jobs per month, a 10-month high.

Also, because of President Trump’s trade dispute with China, the US trade deficit fell 7.6% in October to a 16-month low. Also, for the second month in a row, the US posted a record surplus in petroleum (I’ve heard from people who’ve seen gas as cheap as $2.06 a gallon.)

Did I mention that during this same time, House Democrats did nothing to help create jobs or improve trade deals because they were solely focused on trying to impeach the President?

Also, the latest Rasmussen tracking survey shows that President Trump’s approval rating has jumped 6 points since November and is now at 52%.  Obama’s approval rating at this same point in his first term was 46%.

Did I mention that happened while the House Democrats were doing pretty much nothing other than trying to impeach Trump?  I did? Okay, just making sure that point was crystal clear.

Bible Verse of the Day (KJV)

"Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest."

Thanks for the recap on the impeachment hoax. There was a press conference with pelosi--it says so she could announce the impeachment going on. Funny, near the end, I can't remember the question, but she said to quit asking about the impeachment. Uhmm....that's what her press conference was about!!!

It would be great if all the news coverage would include what the President and Congress HAVE done--but I'm sure that's asking too much.

I am waiting for the left to start blaming President Trump for the Pensecola shooting. It is reported the shooter was an Arab national--a student at Pensecola. They will blame President Trump for foreigners being trained on US soil. I don't know how many years this has been going on--but I'm betting well more than 3 years.

Again thanks for your report and your assessment of the impeachment farce along with your expectations from the IG report and U.S. Attorney John Durham’s investigation. I SINCERELY HOPE YOU ARE RIGHT, that there will be some honest substance in both. However, I will believe it when I see it. I am not convinced that Horowitz or Durham are not swamp residents and will do nothing to exonerate Trump and every effort will be made to justify the actions of the FBI and their refusal to charge Hillary Clinton or any other democrat.

You should APOLOGIZE for besmirching the intelligence of the The Three Stooges in your comparison to the dem-o-rats.
What's the difference between a Republican and democrats? Republican ends in "ican" and democrats end in "rats." That's about the truth of it.
    On another note...
I bought gas last week at the Sam's Club in Gulfport, MS for $2.02 per gallon and by using their credit card I got an additional 5% cash back bonus.
