I love that in this article about Amazon's facial recognition software mistaking Congress members for criminals, the author feels the need to make it clear that it really is a mistake.

Hysterical news coverage spike hides truth

The media have been so desperate to make sure you don’t notice the EU caving to President Trump on tariffs, North Korea starting to keep its promises and GDP growth surging to 4.1% that they've been filling the news this past week with hysterical trivialities.

The spin-o-rama reached its peak with the four-alarm headline scoop that a sleazy lawyer who’d just been caught telling a massive lie the very day before planned to give his word of “honor” that President Trump knew about a meeting where someone from Russia promised campaign dirt on Hillary – a meeting that took place nearly two years ago, that came to nothing and wasn’t illegal.  And all this hot gas came from media outlets that yawned bigger than tired hound dogs at the news that Hillary’s campaign had funneled $10 million through a law firm to buy campaign dirt on Trump from Russians, which the FBI then got a FISA court to accept as “evidence” to spy on his campaign.  And they seriously wonder why people now prefer to get their news from Facebook, YouTube or Magic 8-Balls?

Well, here are two stories that were almost completely overlooked, yet when you put them together, they blow a gaping hole in one of the biggest midterm election narratives of the left.

First story: in an unprecedented ruling, a federal judge sided with the liberal leaders of Philadelphia who severed ties with Catholic Social Services, an adoption and foster care agency that’s been finding loving homes for orphans for decades.  Why?  Because the group refused to violate its religious beliefs and stop requiring homes for children to have both a father and a mother.  The judge not only agreed that this was discriminating against lesbian and gay applicants, but actually lectured the Catholics on their own religion, claiming that forcing them to choose between giving up helping needy children or violating their religious beliefs about marriage and parenting does “not constitute a substantial burden on CSS’s religious exercise” or require them to express their “approval of same-sex relationships in contravention of Catholic teaching about marriage. This is not the case.”  Wow, imagine being both a federal judge and the Pope!

In making the ruling, the court ignored the Supreme Court decision involving the Christian baker by finding that the mayor’s intolerant comments about Catholics were “irrelevant” because he’d cut off a non-Catholic Christian adoption agency, too.  I guess if you’re an equal opportunity religious bigot, it’s not bigotry.

Lesson: To the left, promoting LGBTQ rights is more important than protecting religious freedom or finding homes for orphaned children.

Second, related story:  Because of outrages like the one in Philadelphia, House Republicans introduced the Child Welfare Provider Inclusion Act, to protect the right of faith-based adoption services not to be forced either to violate their sacred beliefs or give up helping needy orphans find homes.  Bear in mind, the bill does not ban adoption by same-sex parents.  Any agency that wants to arrange that, can.  It just protects faith-based agencies from being forced to.

And what was the Democrats’ reaction?  They went ballistic. They savaged the effort to help faith-based adoption services stay in business as a “license to discriminate” against the LGBTQ community.

Their leader, Nancy Pelosi (last seen railing that the tax cut was going to cause millions of people to die) was typically understated, releasing a statement reading, "Republicans’ moral bankruptcy reached a sickening new low today.  House Republicans chose to sacrifice the well-being of little children to push a bigoted, anti-LGBTQ agenda, potentially denying tens of thousands of vulnerable children the opportunity to find a loving and safe home."

No, Nancy: that’s what you’re trying to do, by forcing hundreds of faith-based adoption services to go out of business if they don’t bend their religious beliefs to your political beliefs.

Allow me to remind you that these are the very same people who were recently going ballistic over the children of illegal aliens being separated from their parents.  They would have us believe that that issue was all about their deep and overwhelming concern “for the children.”  I thought I detected a whiff of hypocrisy when I kept hearing them denounce Republicans for “ripping children from their mother’s arms” after they’ve spent the past 40 years glorifying the right to rip children from their mothers’ wombs.  But now the stench of hypocrisy is overpowering.

Nobody is blocking any adoption agency that is not faith-based from placing children in LGBTQ households.  Whether that’s a good idea or not is a separate debate.  What Democrats are doing is part of a continuing crusade to expand LGBTQ rights by crushing First Amendment religious freedom rights.  And if a few thousand needy orphans have to sacrifice their chance to find loving homes, hey: you’ve gotta break a few eggs to make an omelet, right?

Okay, we all get it, liberals.  You’ve shown us your priorities.  Now, please stop insulting our intelligence by telling us that “what’s best for the children” is one of them.

More Stench of Hypocrisy:

Anti-ICE radicals in Portland, Oregon, set up an “occupy” protest camp that was finally cleared out this week. They had been living in such absolute filth and left behind so much garbage, the area had to be declared a biohazard.

Recall what were they protesting: the allegedly inhuman conditions under which illegal immigrants were being kept in detention facilities.  Here’s a link to the story about the camp they created, complete with pictures that show what a festering dump it was:

And here’s a link to a story that shows what the detention centers are like:

Now, which of the two would you rather be in?  How about for your children? I’m betting that even hogs would prefer the ICE detention centers, since hogs have higher standards of hygiene than these anti-ICE protesters.

 Great article

Great article by Andrew Klavan about what all Trump supporters understand about him, but what the hostile media either can’t or won’t comprehend, even when he tells them exactly what he’s doing and what the outcome is going to be.  And when it works out just the way he told them it would, somehow, they’re always surprised.

Dear Mike, I wanted to tell you that I saw you yesterday on Fox News, and I was very accepting and stimulated by your answer about EX-CIA Director, a Mr. Brennan!! I fully agree with you that Mr. Brennan should have had his "security clearance" removed!! The only question that I have, Mike, is why has it taken so long?! Brennan, who voted for a Communist in 1980 for President of the United States, should have had his "security clearance" revoked or removed as soon as he declared President Donald J. Trump had committed Treason against the United States of America!! I about fell off my chair when I heard some 10 days to some 2 weeks ago when I heard that Brennan had declared that he had said that President Trump had committed Treason against our great country! Treason is the worst act that anyone can commit against our country, and it is punishable by death!!
You made your statement in a typical "Huckabee manner," and it was so memorable in that you said it all so beautifully.....Dr. Bob Brunner in rural Urbana, Illinois

What a breath of fresh air! Please keep up the great work and hope you have President Trump's ear. I love him as our President and pray for him, his family, and his staff daily.

Just keep trying to educate people, Mike. I cannot believe the number of people who do not understand what was going on in our government before President Trump took office. And I will never understand why people still keep people like Pelosi, Schumer, Waters and a few other who have to read their pretty speeches and insults. We should be ashamed that we've let them stay in office for so many years. God bless you .

If you think Facebook is losing money now, just wait and see what happens when they're exposed for recording audio and video from all it's users, 24/7, 365 days a year, using an f9 algorithm, and selling meta-data for nearly a decade.

Your are exactly right! However, I don't think any innocent child should be placed in any home that doesn't have a Mom and a Dad. Those poor babies may be loved but not the way God intended or be raised in the Lord. Many are sexually abused and I wouldn't want any child to be placed in that position.
One thing that really has be ticked off is that lousy compromise made with the dems by making Illegal DACA legal? What is the President thinking??? I have been pleased with his strong stance up til now. I makes me sick to see him compromise on an Illegal EO by Obama by making it legal. I am grossly disappointed in that move and the Wall? With legalizing DACA, there will be no money. All he got was a tiny drop in the bucket. He promised a Wall and caved.

The liberals are surprised (shocked, really) when there isn't a nuclear war every time. And, of course, msm networks aren't going to report on any accomplishments--time to find another issue that is going to lead us straight into war. They still haven't figured out that there is more respect from world leaders for a person who stands up for what's right than there is for some milquetoast person who is going to bow to every demand of other world leaders. "Let's sit down with our enemies and have a conversation, and come to an agreement about world peace, etc. Our enemies will graciously commit to world peace. Just need the right (milquetoast) person to lead the discussion." Paraphrased, of course, but 2 Presidents thought that would work. Yes, yes, it did--see, the last administration got the Iran deal, and gave them plane loads of money--and they had Iran in their pocket! NOT!!!! Hassan Rouhani laughed all the way to the bank.

This is a question not a comment---Does the president have to answer questions about what he thinks and what he feels? Is that really covered by freedom of the press and the American people's right to know? He should answer questions about his schedule--what he does--his legislative plans, and the duties he performs--but the rest are personal questions and are rude.

RNC needs to get the Koch Brothers on board with Trump's Agenda or cut ties with them. They are dividing the party right before midterms which may cause the Dems to retake the house. We need a United Republican Party in order to hold the majority in the House and Senate. Governor's races are at stake as well. Why can't Republicans work together?

President Trump needs to fire Jeff Sessions!!! America deserves an Attorney General that will return credibility to the DOJ and FBI.

Dear Governor Huckabee, after some consideration I think you and others with ability to do so are railing against the wrong people. The Republicans are their own worst enemies. They practice so much internecine warfare that they are squandering this wonderful opportunity handed them by the American people. Attack them. Thats where the problem lies. Rome died from within just as we are and just as the Republican Party is.

Here's another reason to feel sorry for Zuckerberg. During his congrssional testimony he de-throned Alan Colmes as the world's smarmiest man, but he only held the title for a couple of months until "agent Strzok" came along. Poor Zuck, nothing's going right since he tried to put Queen Hillary on the throne, only to have her rejected by the peasantry.

I'm Agnostic and had to read the article on the Philly ruling twice to believe it. I'm speechless with anger that a judge would set LGBT "rights" above the Constitutionally protected right of Freedom of religion. The judge has no standing to demand any agency to accept something in violation of their religion. The judge should be removed. That was egregious judicial overreach. The LGBT community is tiny, less than 1% of our population. The religious community is very large. I'm tired of the tyranny of the minority!

To allow same sex "couples' or trans persons to adopt any child is to commit such child to a life of education in the worst of immorality. Such adoption is an abomination to the education Holy God desires for children and should be totally banned.

I am in shock. I have an old Yahoo email address and decided to visit Yahoo today. The Trump hating propaganda was everywhere! I don't like Google nor Comcast because they are liberal but at least both of them are pretty quiet at their website about their views. I don't know who bought Yahoo but it was a FAR LEFT PERSON. I trudged onward and deleted my account. Yahoo makes Google look like a saint.

Congress should make it a priority to restrict Judges to their own Districts and that begins with one courageous Congressman (Ours is Ted Budd) to get it started. Virginia Fox could partner with him and get it rolling. Both are side by side in our State Districts.
Also your fair tax proposal is a no brainer. Good for everybody! Please try to get our President to take a close look. Donald Trump is the man for this hour. Jesus says, "By their fruits (not vocabulary) you will know them."

There has to be a way to get your wonderful coverage of the truth to more citizens. Could a rich Republican buy out CBS or one of the liberal stations and turn it into a genuine news station? Just thinking how great it would be to trust the news again. Mrs. Lange
