Roger L. Simon on Joe Biden's dilemma: he'd normally agree with Trump on a lot of things, but he has to go NeverTrump because his party has gone insane.

“The Experts Speak!”  Thanks to Prof. Glenn Reynolds of Instapundit for digging this out of the archives.  From the L.A. Times in 2017, a story headlined, “If Trump thinks he can get more than 3% economic growth, he’s dreaming.”  It includes condescending dismissals of Trump’s economic goals from a range of “experts” across the political spectrum, offering pearls of wisdom such as this:

"High rates of growth, and the productivity that drives it, are likely distant memories from a bygone era."

Oh, you mean like your credibility?

President Trump spoke to the National Rifle Association in Indiana Friday, and his speech made big news when he announced that he was issuing an executive order rescinding Obama’s signature on the UN Arms Trade Treaty. Obama sent it to the Senate in his final days in office.  The Senate hasn't yet ratified it, and Trump’s order pulls it from the process.

Trump called the treaty “badly misguided” and said, “Under my Administration, we will never surrender American sovereignty to anyone. We will never allow foreign bureaucrats to trample on your Second Amendment freedom… By taking these actions, we are reaffirming that America’s liberty is sacred and that American citizens live by American laws, not the laws of foreign countries.”

I can only imagine how hysterical the left will be, since Trump managed to push two of their hot buttons at once by blocking gun control laws and putting America ahead of the UN.  As the icing on the cake, he undid yet another piece of Obama’s legacy.  The trifecta of trolling!

There was an alarming moment at the NRA speech when a man in the crowd threw a cell phone onto the stage as Trump was walking to the lectern.  The Secret Service quickly removed and arrested the man.  They say he was drunk, and they’re investigating whether he intended to harm the President.  Trump went on with the speech, and it’s unclear if he even noticed the incident.

Two observations:

1.  Many are questioning why the Secret Service allowed the cell phone to remain on stage near Trump instead of immediately removing it, since it could have been an explosive device.  Sounds as if the recent security lapse at Mar-a-Lago wasn’t followed by enough reprimands, retraining and demotions.

2.  Note that the man was grabbed by the Secret Service and removed unharmed.  If NRA members and their gatherings really were anything like the way they are depicted in the media, he would have been carried out looking like a Swiss cheese.

Joe Biden was given a full hour on “The View” to make his case for the White House, and despite the ladies practically rolling out a plush red carpet festooned with rose petals and daisies, it was not smooth sailing.

One thing that sent Republicans’ jaws dropping to the floorboards was Joe’s claim that what he and Obama agree they are most proud of was that there was “not one single whisper of scandal” during their Administration.  Reality check: the fact that much of the media were too frightened or loooove-struck to report on Obama’s scandals doesn't mean there weren’t any. Several commentators took the trouble of compiling lists for Joe’s edification, such as Ben Marquis at Conservative Tribune

It’s worth noting that the biggest scandal of the Obama Administration – and possibly, in US political history – may only now be starting to come to light with the investigation of the politicizing and weaponizing of US intelligence agencies to spy on and undermine an opposing candidate and later, his Presidency.

Also, I notice one scandal not mentioned in the article was Obama being caught on a hot mic telling a Russian official to assure Putin that he could be more flexible after he was reelected.

Of course, that would only count if you consider “colluding with Russia” to be a scandal.  And who would possibly make a federal case out of that?

I would think that by scheduling his first big media appearance as a candidate on a female-centric show, Biden was signaling that he wanted to get his “gropey Joe” problem behind him.  But it was shocking to see how ill-prepared he was to deal with questions he must’ve known he would be asked.  Some critics questioned how he would deal with Vladimir Putin when he couldn’t even give a coherent answer to a predictable puffball inquiry from the fawning ladies of “The View”?

It's also becoming clear that as avuncular as the current “Uncle Joe” persona may seem, progressives never forgive or forget any past transgression.  Even Anita Hill isn’t willing to accept his “regrets” for his treatment of her during the Clarence Thomas hearings 28 years ago.

This is the political world today, Joe. Everyone may claim to love you until the moment you announce you're running, and then you’d better have a dog if you want a friend.

Although I liked what the President said at the rally last night in Green Bay, I wish he wouldn't use bad words in his speeches. Impressionable kids imitate what they hear.

I watched President Trump's rally this evening. And I got to see Sarah called up for the crowd. They loved her, and who can blame them? She is a true winner in our book. Did you pop your buttons? The rally was great. The people were right there for Pres. Trump. The Democrats are going to have a tough time of it, unless they can come up with something besides "hate Trump" or Socialism. I know the election is still far away, but after 2 years of investigation and lies, the people I speak with are tired of the bashing and like Pres. Trump more than ever.

One of the scandals of the Obama admin was treason. He gave aid and comfort to our enemy, IRAN. How can sending billions of dollars ( while trying to hide it) to the country which funds terrorists, helps in killing U.S. Soldiers on the battle field, shouts for our death and wants to destroy Israel. Obama, Valerie Jarett, Biden and the entire top tier of our intelligence agencies were involved. How does this go unnoticed, Mike? Where are Trump, Barr, and the invisible Frey on this. This is the equal of Hillary's treason and is the continuation of lawlessness in this banana republic.

I wish Anita Hill ,and the View would go away. I do not watch The View ever, except when I'm changing channels to watch a good western movie. I checked them out way back in time, and once I see the stupidity of a show, I don't feel the need to check in occasionally to see if I have changed my mind.
I chose between Clarence Thomas and Anita Hill at the beginning of her story, and that is also a permanent decision.
These people are wasting their lives, and looks like they would be bored to death dwelling on the most stupid things day after day.

Gov, I am so glad that the real collusion is beginning to be brought out. I cannot wait to see the demonrats heads exploding. My only hope is that the Clinton cartel will not be able to silence the all witnesses like they have been able to do in the past. That would truly be tragic, not to mention whatever else it might be. At this juncture it might just be enough of a spark to begin the 2nd civil war. My hope is that President Trump will get the documents de-classified soon and that the IG report will come out soon as well. I truly believe that AG Barr will do the right thing and prosecute the perpetrators (traitors) that tried this coup.

My following comment is not political but rather a different perspective on the weather through which God may be trying to tell us something.
    by Lynwood Valentine Prest

    A. God is being rejected yet was fundamentally involved in the creation of the United States of America.

    B. Weather related storms of all kinds have lately been devastating this country.
    1. Mankind has disturbed the weather but not to the extent that we have been experiencing.
    2. Gradually the people of the United States of America have been imposing laws and regulations that are attacking Christianity. People in the time of Noah in the old testament deviated from God and a flood destroyed them, keeping only Noah and his family. In the time of Moses, he rescued them from Egypt under the guidance of God. The few who initially left were killed. Centuries later, when many Jews had forsaken God’s love and protection, Israel was taken over by Rome.
    3. What warnings are we in America receiving by virtue of such severe storms and fires that are devastating many parts of our country. Are we recognizing them as such or just saying, “It is just the results of climate change”. We should investigate that logic. It could be false.

    C. In the book, “God has Control of the Weather & the Fate of Nations” by Wayne Croley, he quotes Bible verses about that control by God. We see proof throughout the new and old testaments of the Bible. We also saw it during the British war of 1812 on Washington, DC where they set fire to the White House and other buildings and were then hit that night by a fierce thunderstorm and tornado which tossed their canons around like toys, stopped their further damage of the city and encouraged them to leave. Are we seeing proof today in the USA? Massive floods and forest fires have recently devastated many parts of the USA. That’s not climate change. God controls the weather. Where is His paradise? Isn’t paradise in God’s kingdom? Some people look for paradise on earth.

Where in the USA, in the recent past, did the worst damage occur from fire and wind? Paradise, CA! Was that just a coincidence? Is God trying to tell us something? Are we listening? “In religion, paradise is a place of exceptional happiness and delight. Paradisiacal notions are often laden with pastoral imagery, and may be cosmogonical or eschatological or both, often compared to the miseries of human civilization: in paradise there is only peace, prosperity, and happiness. Paradise is a place of contentment, a land of luxury and fulfillment. Paradise is often described as a "higher place", the holiest place, in contrast to this world, or underworlds such as Hell.” Wikipedia

Should we be putting on sackcloth and asking for forgiveness and direction instead of excluding Him? I think so. We must get right with God. His promises are based on that.

    D. The definition of ‘Church’ is “The People of God gathered together in His name”. It’s not a building.
Another error I am hearing about is going to church as individuals via the internet only. THAT is not a gathering of His people. To be united with God we must be in the community He created not isolating ourselves and getting his directives all wrong. Catholics cannot participate in and celebrate communion that way. We Americans truly need to examine our consciences and get God and Jesus back into our society. If we don’t then only worse things will be happening in our future. HISTORY PROVES IT!
