While it’s taken years –- and thousands of pages of leaks –- for us to obtain clear evidence of the various illegalities associated with the Clinton Foundation, the Foundation itself was aware of its own legal quagmire in 2008.
Conflicts of interest, intense politicization, pay-to-play --- these were outlined in a scathing report prepared by legal advisor Kumiki Gibson for Bruce Lindsay, who was CEO of the Clinton Foundation eight years ago when Hillary was transitioning to her position at Secretary of State. At that time, the Foundation had already been in existence for 10 years. We happen to know about the report because it was attached to an email Cheryl Mills sent to John Podesta on November 1, 2011.
In her 17-page summary, Gibson warned that they “must act immediately to bring the Foundation into compliance with the law and standards that govern not-for-profits.” She said that “the work of the Foundation and the President (former President Bill Clinton) are intertwined in a way that creates confusion at, and undermines the work of, the Foundation at virtually every level.”
Whew! That sounds serious. It’s a good thing the people at the Foundation got that report, so they could take care of these problems right away. Oh, wait –- they didn’t do a doggone thing. In fact, it could be argued that after Hillary took control of the State Department, their corrupt money machine went pedal-to-the-metal. Bill continued making speeches at half-a-million dollars a pop and received plentiful gifts as well, Huma continued working three jobs (State, Clinton Foundation, and powerful consulting firm Teneo), foreign governments who sponsor terrorism made multimillion-dollar contributions, and Hillary amassed a fortune while preparing to move back into the White House. When she was threatened with exposure, she and her hench-people destroyed mountains of evidence with Bleachbit and a hammer.
I wonder what Ms. Gibson is thinking now. If I were in her position, I’d be thinking, “Wow, I never imagined they’d get away with it! I assumed they’d be in prison if they didn’t change their ways, and that doesn’t even take into account what they did with classified material. Certainly anyone else would have gone to the slammer for a long, long time and seen daylight for just one hour a day during their daily walk around the exercise yard. But not only did they get a pass, but they seem poised to be back in power. And they will be –- unless, of course, enough voters wake up.”
