Trump’s enemies in the media –- and let’s face it, that’s most of the media –- are scared to death of Attorney General William Barr.

How can I tell? Because they’re working overtime to savage him, to discredit him in any way they can. They see him as a too-effective advocate of the President’s policies at the Justice Department. (When Trump is in the White House, as opposed to Obama, they obviously require the AG’s job to be adversarial to the President.) They also cannot stand that he DARED to say “spying did occur” and that the DOJ’s role in the “Trump/Russia” hoax needs to be examined. That’s certainly not the narrative they want.

They have their own narrative: that there is no such hoax, that Trump really is a traitor who “colluded” with Russia to damage Hillary Clinton and win the 2016 election. To further this, they themselves “colluded” with anonymous sources inside the government and the Democrat Party, all of whom shared a common goal. Even though this narrative has been shown to be false, they continue to cling to it. Madam Speaker Nancy Pelosi is helping them by once again repeating her tired old mantra, “All roads lead to Putin.” Likewise, House Intel Committee chair and repeated, proven liar Adam Schiff has called Barr “the second most dangerous man in America,” the implication being that President Trump is the first-most dangerous.

Similarly, when Devin Nunes’ memo blasted their assertions of Russia “collusion,” they tried to discredit him, though he has since been proven right. Now it’s Barr, along with lead investigator U.S. Attorney John Durham, who are in their sights. “The fear of Durham’s investigation and Barr’s support of that investigation is legitimate,” writes Mollie Hemingway in THE FEDERALIST. “The media and other Resistance members staked their reputations on the Russia probe, which exploded spectacularly when, despite the daily if not hourly promises of bombshells and ‘walls closing in,’ special counsel Robert Mueller and his sprawling investigation were unable to find a single American who had colluded with Russia to steal the 2016 election.”

She masterfully takes apart the latest hit piece on Barr, from David Rohde of THE NEW YORKER, who is such an anti-Trumper that he has not only written about Barr having to recuse himself while Democrats sought impeachment but, wow, has even fantasized outrageously about Barr going to prison for his support of Trump, summoning the ghost of John Mitchell from 1975 and the Watergate break-in. I am not kidding; here it is (big-time inaccuracies in this one, too), from last fall; the crazy “John Mitchell” part is towards the end of the piece…

https://www.newyorker.com/news/daily-comment/the-dangerous-position-of-william-barr

So now Rohde has this new, nearly 10,000-word article, and anti-Trumpers will eat it up with a spoon, never stopping to recognize all the misrepresentations, inaccuracies and omissions contained within Rohde’s tasty concoction. (Leftists’ favorite flavor: “Rocky Rohde,” ha.) Fortunately, Hemingway points them all out. No one who really wants to be informed should read Rohde’s commentary without following it up with Hemingway’s. Of course, most readers who like to read THE NEW YORKER don’t really want to be informed and will avoid Hemingway’s merciless tear-down like the plague.

She goes into great deal with --- count ‘em --- 27 points outlining the many ways the Rohde article goes off the rails. Her opinion of Barr is like my own: “a brilliant legal mind with a candid and no-nonsense attitude” who at times seems to be the only adult in the room. He’s had a stellar career and didn’t need to come back to the DOJ and face all the abuse he knew he’d be taking, but he sees himself as having a job to do. Hemingway acknowledges that political differences account for some of Rohde’s criticism of Barr but notes that his grasp on major issues is still demonstrably wrong, citing War Powers, the Mueller report and the way it has been handled, and the FISA abuse investigation.

He even gets basic facts wrong. In just one example, he says, “In August 1990, Bush invaded Kuwait, with Congressional approval.” What? It was Iraq who invaded Kuwait in 1990; America responded in 1991 with aerial attacks and then ground troops to repel those invaders. “THE NEW YORKER has an unwarranted reputation as diligent in fact-checking...” Hemingway notes, adding that “the piece is full of errors that would be easy to check...”

"Every paragraph in the nearly 10,000-word article has significant problems,” she says. “Taken together, it is just one long string of innuendos that Barr is evil. Yet the innuendos are laid down in such a dry, disaffected style it’s as if Rohde and his editors don’t think the reader will notice how they’re leading him to one facile conclusion after another.” What a wonderful way to describe the writing style of publications like THE NEW YORKER. She has nailed it –- that’s exactly what they do.

I had thought about summarizing some of Hemingway’s major points (as I said, there are 27), but I really think her entire commentary is a must-read. It would also be great to share with your friends on the left, if they are still speaking to you and if you don’t mind them being irritated at you. It’s not likely they’ll read it, but what the heck.

In the meantime, I’ll just cut to her conclusion: “If the FBI and the Department of Justice, not to mention the other involved agencies, are to have their reputations restored, it will be because men like Barr and Durham were brave enough to take on the implicated parties and their echo chambers and find the truth. One gets the sense they knew the media campaign against them would be waged and one hopes they have the courage to withstand the bullying.”

That’s one thing I really am optimistic about. I think the media have figured out that they CAN withstand it, and that makes them even more terrified --- of losing their power to intimidate.

My husband and I discussed who is telling CNN, ABC, NBC, and CBS what to post as News. They all say the same things as if they have received a memo. The news in the past was given with facts and the listener decided what they thought about it. Now the broadcasters slant in a negative way everything about President Trump and then have the gall to have people who think primarily like they think discuss it, as if we can not think on our own. It is disgusting

    Governor, I have a question.
this has to do with all of the pending lawsuits that Judicial Watch has against the DOJ having requested documents through the FOIA process for obvious Deep State corruption and corruption cover-ups on a multitude of issues. The question: Since Wiiliam Barr is the Attorney General and in charge of the DOJ, and since he seems to be a straight-shooter and interested in uncovering corruption and finding the truth, why does he not get more involved in insuring that Judicial Watch's requests for documents are granted without JW having to continually file lawsuits and get the runaround from the DOJ? Clearly, there is much corruption in the DOJ and I would assume Mr. Barr would want to root that out of his organization.

Love your comments Governor, AG William Barr, I believe is going to be the unreeling of the Democratic Party and their corrupt leadership of the past 40+ years. It will also be the eye opening to the public of how corrupt the MSM has become over those years. We have slowly been brainwashed to believe what we see on television news broadcast, until Obama started running for President. That's when eye's started to began opening and people started looking for more reliable sources of what was happening in this Country. Then when President Trump started running for office, all heck broke loose and every story you heard, you had to investigate the source to decide if you would share it or not. I will only share stories now without investigating them if I get them from trusted sources and one of them happens to be you.

As to your comments on Davis Rohde, I did a little check on him, due to not really knowing his background and thinking that because of the comments. I would have expected him to be a very young investigated reported, who may have not been old enough to recall the conflict he reported incorrectly. Quite to the contrary, he in fact has a history in that part of the World. I pulled that history from Wikipedia and it is shared below. I really question any of reporting of his regarding activity in that part of the world. A person from my understanding with his qualifications just doesn't "escape" from the Taliban without some kind of plan for the future use by those Terrorist. Especially when there were agreements made at the time to keep full details of the kidnapping and "escape" out of the news with MSM, Time and Wikipedia.

"While in Afghanistan, Rohde was kidnapped by members of the Taliban in November 2008, but managed to escape in June 2009 after seven months in captivity. While he was in captivity, The New York Times collaborated with a number of media outlets, including al-Jazeera[4] and Wikipedia,[5] to remove news of the kidnapping from the public eye."

Keep up the great work Governor and looking forward to Sarah's book in September.

If Barr is so good, how could his Justice Department possibly dismiss the Hillary Clinton investigation without finding any wrongdoing? I'm not impressed.

I find myself commenting more on your posts than any other source on FB, other than, perhaps Fox News. I get angrier by the day watching new mainstream media spins, Pelosi’s smug display of gold pens offered up on a silver platter to the most corrupt Democrat leaders I’ve experienced in my lifetime, the procession of arrogant “impeachment managers” to the Senate; Pelosi’s endless news conferences; and it goes on and on and on. Their apparent attempt to wear the American people down with the daily resist, resist, resist will only serve to create a drove of angry voters to the polls and make sure our President gets another four years. God help us and have mercy on our nation should the Democrats take the Senate and maintain the House. God help us when any of their corrupt leaders take the Presidency again. I find myself extremely anxious at the mere thought of where our country is eventually headed without divine intervention, especially for my grandchildren. It is difficult for me to have hope for our nation to return to our Savior and His principles, which is the primary reason for our current state of depravity. In fact, the church, in my opinion, has the greater responsibility for our condition. Worldly ideology has saturated the body and a departure from the Word of God has impacted our nation more than any other issue. We have chosen the enemy’s well-devised path of diversity, under the guise of “inclusion” and rejected the notion of sin and God’s holiness. Not long ago, I wrote to you that I may not vote in the upcoming election. Believe me, that is no longer the case. It would be sin on my part to not take a stand and I apologize for ever having such a notion. Every day that passes with the constant barrage of the enemy’s (Satan) attacks is the catalyst for my heart change coupled with the Word. Our pastor has been preaching on the state of the church today in America and I plead for my Savior’s help to keep running the race with my eyes on the victory He has secured whether it is on this side or the next. I must not quit, grow more lethargic and hopeless. I must continue to persevere for my grandchildren’s sake. Bless you for your part in speaking truth.

Watch the weather and flip to the western channel. Or programs we have recorded. NO NEWS!!!!!!!! I hope voters remember all this crazy, money wasting in the next election. TRUMP 2020!!!!!!!!

UNFORTUNATELY Pelosi WAS successful with her impeachment - in keeping all the news on it and not the good things Trump is doing. Worse, any new information is subject to yet another sham impeachment effort by the House.

I don't understand why people (other than the Democrats) think that the Russians were helping Trump get elected instead of helping Clinton. Hillary would probably keep drawing lines in the sand, keep the military at a low level, move the country closer to socialism, and maybe selling the Russians more uranium.

Sad day in this country when a Congress can set up a total scam like this to try to Impeach the President. This one guy who was known to Guiliani and now is out trying to save his own skin per his business. Now he is willing to make up stories on what was going on in the Ukraine and the President? Now as we ask why is this a problem to know what was VP Biden and his son doing. We gave billions and who got this money who? No one is saying. Does the one woman Ambassador know. She was not in any way for Pres Trump she spoke to others on backing Hillary and Glenn Beck has the evidence as does Guiliani. So to Impeach on what Biden himself was doing for his son in a foreign country WHY and HOW.? I just went to anything not news to see this Democratic group act like they really had the right to do this Impeachment. Broke the law how.? Just for $400,000 when we gave billions where is this money? Ask Hunter where he got $83,000 a month who paid this our money who is saying? No, this whole event in Congress is a lie and set up to try to prove more then there is ask Glenn Beck he has a lot of evidence? Let Bolton testify if he can produce that he heard and saw the President trying to just go against Biden who should never be President and is way past his prime. Bolton can say yes he saw and heard this and has evidence then move on and those in the Senate decide. But why was the President not allowed to do this in the House? Divided this country totally and then the attack of the President on a monster Iranian General even stinks more on who are these people? Iranian people want to be FREE tired of their terrorist leaders.

How can Barr possibly be the most politicized AG in history? Have they forgotten about Eric Holder and Loretta Lynch and their nefarious dealings? Barr is a smart lawyer and he recognized the political motivations of the DemonRats and is aware of the far reaching implications of their actions. He can see the big picture and not the narrow tunnel vision of the DemonRats.

And I cannot believe this writer invoked the example of John Mitchell. There is no comparison. In fact the opposite would be correct. Richard Nixon spied on the DemonRats, probably with good reason but I am prejudiced, including breaking and entering. Jim Comey, Andy McCabe, John Mitchell, Peter Srrozk, Lisa Paige, and James Clapper conspired with the DemonRat Party and Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama to spy on the Trump campaign once he won the Republican nomination. I believe they are now being called the Coup Cartel. And since they are in the "intelligence" and "law enforcement" they should be held to a higher standard of behaviors and should be neutral, not partisan. Their thought processes have been poisoned by the Trump Derangement Syndrome. They engaged in illegal and unconstitutional activities and the CIA is NOT supposed to be used against Americans and I don't think they are even supposed to be used on American soil. This is a totally different situation and as far as I know has never been addressed. I don't think Barr should recuse himself. He is investigating illegal and unconstitutional activities of FBI, CIA, DoJ, NSA and members of the Democratic Party including a previous President and AG Loretta Lynch.

The writer obviously is a deranged liberal without any peripheral vision of the situation. He has tunnel vision and cannot be taken seriously.

Ms. Hemingway has a more even take on what has happened. "Nearly the entire political media establishment worked with anonymous sources inside the government and Democratic offices to spread the false conspiracy theory that Trump was a traitor who had colluded with Russia to steal the 2016 election from Hillary Clinton. This false and dangerous conspiracy theory negatively affected national security and foreign policy, sidelined Barr’s predecessor at the Department of Justice, and generally made it difficult to run the executive branch or secure good political appointees to work in the administration."

This mess has affected every branch of government and innocent people have been arrested and their lives turned upside down. People need to cooperate, regardless of their political affiliations. The leadership in the House has held secret hearings, refused to look at both sides of issues and the Articles of Impeachment are obviously a farce. Barr is not involved in that. It is now the purview of the Senate and the Chief Justice. I am so sick of all this bickering and the effect it has had on the completion of tasks that really should not be stuck while Democrats and Republicans duke it out.

Thanks for sharing the articles but I did not like what Rhode had to say.

    Governor Huckabee:
I have seen two posts on Facebook about this and am asking you if it is true. If anyone can dig down deep and find the truth it is you. On Wednesday, January 15, 2020, two Facebook posts claimed that Nancy Pelosi filed Re-appropriation Form 77A in the Congressional Budget Office transferring $2.4 Billion from the Department of Social Security to cover the cost of the House Impeachment circus. If this is true, I think America needs to know about it. I don't trust Facebook check or Snopes which is owned by George Soros. Thank you.

As, one more time, reading your informative messages forces me to, finally, HAVE to look upon the darkness that, for years, I FOUGHT looking upon.... (via never
looking at the news and never getting involved in politics...which I instinctively hated because I instinctively knew that...despite the fact that not all politicians were dishonest....there WAS dishonesty, and corruption in the political system)..
....I feel inspired to write the following.. ...

The REASON I could not...or would not....look upon this darkness is because I was unwilling to suffer the grief I knew it would inflict on me because I saw life as such an unfathomable, awesome miracle that bore tangible evidence to the One Who created this miracle and Who saw EVERYONE He created AS a miracle Who He loved...which is why, while Will Rogers said, "I never met a man I didn't LIKE" , I can honestly say, "I never met a man I didn't LOVE", therefore, I did not want to have to look upon HATRED because it hurt me too much to do so!..I liked pretending hatred didn't even exist.....AND, YET, NOW I NEVER MISS READING ONE OF YOUR NEWSLETTERS where I am now FORCED TO look upon the darkness I would NOT look upon for all of my life...So why the change?.It's certainly not because the grief that is mine for doing so is any less that, for years, I imagined it to be. No!. THE REASON IS....BECAUSE.....

God is IN this political saga...which is why it IS true that Donald Trump was GOD'S choice of who HE wanted to be the president of a nation that once could be called "one nation under God!" ...While people could flippantly say that Donald Trump winning the election was a "miracle"...because they deemed him to be such an unlikely candidate TO win....they said it not really believing that God actually DID intervene to insure Trump's election..

I have learned, through the years, even WHEN I know that I know that a certain happening WAS the result of DIVINE INTERVENTION, I dare not declare WHY He intervened because it IS true that His ways are not our ways! However, having SAID that, it is concomitantly true that when one is a vessel THROUGH whom Christ loves...and weeps.....and SPEAKS because one KNOWS Him...and His heart...one CAN declare what purpose would NOT be the purpose of His Divine Intervention if it violates...is in contradiction TO...His heart and mind!

With that "preface" do I state THAT: It doesn't seem likely that God chose Donald Trump to be president to expose his sin so that the Democrats could impeach him! If one truly HAS the spiritual discernment to SEE the evil motive of hatred BEHIND the Democrats desire to destroy their president, in the name of something that is less than evil, then one knows that this is the evil God wants to be exposed.....And it took a personality LIKE Donald Trump's TO expose this evil as well as all the other evil that is being exposed and that, you, Mike, are doing such a beautiful job AT doing!

I loved the fact that you referred to Sarah as a "warrior" because I have been writing about how Christians need to BE "warriors" if they have the spiritual discernment to SEE that God chose Donald Trump to be president not to have him just win a political battle, but because He wanted to use him to win the spiritual warfare that AUTHORED the political battle!

Mike - Yes, the Democratic Party is afraid that Barr will expose their "Russia, Russia, Russia" plot for the scam that it was.
Seemingly, the Democratic Party was able to convince Jeff Sessions that the claims made in th Steele Dossier were true and that Trump would be forced to resign as a result.
In the end, the investigation led by Mueller disproved the allegations made by Steele. One would think that Jeff Sessions would feel like he was "played as a fool" by those who were advising him to recuse himself and to allow the matter to be turned over to a highly biased "special prosecutor team". Yet, Sessions still claims that he did the right thing. Can you explain why? Did the Democrats blackmail Sessions based upon some dark secret from his past?
Logic does not seem to support the action that Sessions took, nor his continued assertion that "he did the right thing and would do so again". Very puzzling.

I, and millions of others, I hope, are seeing the pattern of lies and deception being played out by the Socialist, left, scoundrel's in our country. I certainly agree that the whole bunch is terrified with AG Barr and the Durham investigation. Now, these demons are again pulling their standard tricks with the Parnas deal! I think it is human nature to repeat our thoughts and patterns of addressing issues!
As an inventor, I look back at many of my inventions and see similar thought patterns in each invention. Dems are stuck with their pattern of bringing forth this series of charges against our duly elected President. Stormy Daniels, Muller investigation, Whistle Blower and now Parnas' story. Lord only knows what will be next! Their only attributes are: cunning, and persistence! I pray that a landslide victory in Nov. will finally shut them down, but I doubt it!!!

At what point are we as a country going to stop allowing the media to spread malicious intentional lies with the sole intent to disrupt our democracy? When are we going to establish boundaries that distinguish freedom of the press from outright intentional slander and propaganda, with no other intent than to manipulate our citizens into believing a reality that they have invented for their own personal gain.
Freedom of the press was never intended to be a licence to intentionally and openly attack our freedoms and slander anyone who doesn't cow down to them.
I am a strong believer in freedom of speech and freedom of the press, but what our "press" has evolved into is quit the opposite. They have molded themselves into a weapon and they are attacking the very foundations of our freedoms.
It is time that our Congress and our Judiciary reinterpret what freedom of the press really means and take measures to protect us from the obvious abuse and manipulation of that blessed freedom they have been endowed with.
I hope and pray this is on Trump's agenda in his second term.
    Kind regards,
