Radical leftists in Seattle are apparently having embolisms over this powerful news special, “Seattle Is Dying,” which was aired by KOMO-TV. They call that station “Trump TV” (because it’s owned by conservative Sinclair Broadcasting) and put quotation marks around the word “news,” accusing the right-wing media of using this documentary to instill hatred for the poor. According to leftists, this sort of documentary criminalizes poverty. On the contrary, it justifiably implicates leftism itself, for promoting policies that have led to mass homelessness, filth, heartbreaking substance abuse, widespread theft, untreated mental illness, post-apocalyptic stretches of land, and violent crime.

With gratitude,

Mike Huckabee

Nunes sues Twitter

By Mike Huckabee

California Rep. Devin Nunes hit Twitter with a $250 million lawsuit for “shadow-banning” conservatives, censoring viewpoints that oppose leftist dogma and ignoring complaints of repeated abusive behavior when it’s coming from liberals against conservatives.

I’m not an attorney, so I can’t comment on the lawsuit’s chances of succeeding, but I’m glad to see Republicans finally fighting back hard against Silicon Valley limousine liberals who think that having created a popular public forum means they have the power to decide what is allowed to be communicated over it.  It’s one thing to remove blatantly abusive or threatening content, but quite another to allow power-mad techies deep in the bowels of Twitter or Facebook to quietly hide posts that challenge their freshman-level socialist views.

Incidentally, does anyone else find it odd that leftists have been crying for over two years about Russia attempting to unfairly influence elections via social media, but they think it’s fine when they try to unfairly influence elections via social media?

There are many more details about the lawsuit and Nunes’ reasons for filing it at this link.  Warning: some of the quotes are pretty vile:

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/nunes-files-bombshell-defamation-suit-against-twitter-seeks-250m-for-anti-conservative-shadow-bans-smears

One thing about it that piques my interest is the fact that Twitter allowed these nasty attack accounts to continue spewing false and defamatory tweets about Nunes (one even trying to fool readers into thinking it was from his mother) for as long as a year.  How many conservatives have seen their accounts immediately banned or suspended, hidden, or at least been issued warnings over a single comment that wasn’t a fraction as provocative?  Yet liberal attack accounts are allowed to go on and on.

Just this week, what I believe to be a thoughtful essay on my website decrying the anti-Semitic rhetoric of a certain Congress member was banned by Google as “dangerous.”  I’m still not sure why, although judging from similar actions, the tragic shooting in New Zealand seems to have made social media censors decide that any criticism of someone who happens to be Muslim, no matter how reasonable or justified, is an incitement of general anti-Muslim violence.  Taken to its logical extension, that would ban every comment that’s critical of anyone or anything.

Except, of course, accounts that openly call for violence against Republicans and Trump supporters.  The social media giants seem slower than molasses in January when it comes to banning those.

AOC blames the media

By Mike Huckabee

A new Gallup poll found that the more people have grown to know Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the less favorably they view her.  But according to her, it’s not because Americans reject socialism, or that she keeps saying ridiculous things and proposing unpopular policies, or she declared herself to be our boss, or she celebrated the loss of 25,000 new Amazon jobs in her home state. No, it’s because the Fox News “propaganda machine” is lying about her.

I think a more likely explanation might lie in the lyrics of an old song by the Teddy Bears (younger folks might know the Amy Winehouse version.  It goes:

“To know, know, know him

Is to love, love, love him…”

Well, like that, only backwards: the more you know, the less you love.

Donna Brazile to Fox

By Mike Huckabee

Less than a month after DNC Chairman Tom Perez refused to allow Fox News to host one of the party’s Presidential debates, Fox has hired former DNC Chair Donna Brazile as a commentator.  Ms Brazile said it’s important for people not to retreat to “safe spaces” where they just talk to people who agree with them (apparently, Perez wants the debates to be a “safe space”) and “There’s an audience on Fox News that doesn’t hear enough from Democrats.”

Actually, Fox News shows usually include both sides of issues, and even the conservative opinion shows regularly include guests from the liberal side (hence the motto, “Fair and balanced.”)  I’m happy to hear that she’ll be a part of the Fox roster, and I think she’ll soon discover that the Fox audience hears a lot more from Democrats than the CNN or MSNBC audience ever hears from Republicans.

Google erasing history?!?

By Mike Huckabee

Back in the USSR (not the Beatles song but the actual communist empire that Bernie Sanders seems nostalgic for), people who displeased Joseph Stalin would be erased from history books. Photos would even be altered to remove their images.

If Greenpeace co-founder Patrick Moore, who now outspokenly opposes the radical green movement, is correct in his allegations, Google is helping Greenpeace bring back the Stalinist practice of “disappearing” heretics from history.

https://www.westernjournal.com/ct/greenpeace-co-founder-literally-erased-google-telling-truth-aocs-green-new-deal-allegation/

I guess we shouldn’t be surprised.  If the left now endorses tearing down monuments, statues and crosses and banning books, plays, movies and TV shows in order to obliterate from history anything that doesn’t conform to their contemporary PC standards, it was only a matter of time before they got around to cleansing the Internet of inconvenient photos…and facts.

Laura Ainsworth: Miss Mannerly's column

By Laura Ainsworth

Dear Miss Mannerly:

I don’t know why I’m getting so much criticism right now, and it’s really stressing me out. I am trying to get a BIG promotion --- REALLY big, as the job I want is REALLY important (and powerful) and right now I am unemployed, writing little stories in my journal to keep my head together, and traveling the country while living off a surprising amount of donations in addition to my family money, plus my wife’s, of course. To get this promotion, I really have to figure out, like, how to behave with people and make more of them LIKE me. LOTS more of them! It’s important!

"Nazi"

By Mike Huckabee

Here are three ways that you can tell you are lazily and cavalierly throwing the term “Nazi” at your political opponents:

1.  When you call President Trump’s son a “Nazi” for defending Chelsea Clinton from the outrageous charge of being responsible for the New Zealand shootings because she condemned anti-Semitism.

2.  When you call anyone a “Nazi” for defending anyone who condemns anti-Semitism.

3.  When you call anyone a “Nazi” who isn’t a Nazi.

The Seattle clip needs to be shared. It identified the problem, suggested resolution, and even brought the humanity we all so often preach. Responsibility and accountability must always be considered; be they the homeless or politician.
As an aside, I do enjoy your daily newsletter including the daily verse. I've shared your links enough times, that I should take brokerage fees. Thank you for your insistence of speaking and sharing the other side of the story. By the way, if you still have one of your old bumper stickers, I would love to have one. Mine finally faded out. Thanks and be Blessed.

I like a few of you were in public school back in the 1940s and ‘50s. A teacher asked to borrow a pocket knife to sharpen a pencil as the class pencil sharpener was broken and the student nearest her said he didn’t have a pocket knife but another student offered his and she was heard commenting after the boy that did not have a pocket knife was out of hearing she said that she didn’t know what to think about a boy not having a pocket knife.
Bear in mind that THAT WAS BACK THEN WHERE SANITY EXISTED . . . AND THIS IS TODAY WHERE INSANITY SEEMS TO REIGN SUPREME!!
