In yet another leak masquerading as journalism, the New York Times printed a lengthy list of what it claims are questions that special counsel Robert Mueller wants to ask President Trump. You can read more about them at the link. Suffice to say, it’s an entire tackle box full of lures for a fishing expedition, very few of which have any relation to the alleged object of the probe, “Russian collusion” to influence the election.

They range from questions about Trump’s business dealings with Russia to whether he knew about Jared Kushner’s efforts to set up back-channel communications with Russia prior to his Inauguration (which as President-elect, he had a perfect right to do, and it was after the election) to his motivations for firing FBI Director James Comey (Ooh, let me answer that one! He was motivated to fire Comey because everyone on both sides agreed that he richly deserved to be fired – up until he was, of course -- something he continues to prove every time he opens his mouth; and Trump probably realized that as President, he had both the duty and the unquestionable power to fire him at any time for any reason. Next question!)

Law professor Alan Dershowitz is doing his best “Star Wars” impression, warning Trump, “It’s a trap!” He says the wide-ranging questions are designed to get Trump talking freely, as he’s wont to do, so he'll make a misstatement or accidentally contradict himself, and then Mueller can pull the time-tested special prosecutor’s trick of charging him with perjury or obstruction of an investigation for which there is no crime.

But the big story isn’t really the list of questions, but how the New York Times obtained it. Trump critics are suggesting that his legal team leaked it so Trump could attack Mueller and the media. They don’t want to consider the far more likely possibility: that like previous news stories involving releases of confidential information, it was illegally leaked to the media by the investigators.

Of course, you’d have to be pretty paranoid to think that a former FBI Director would ever cynically leak classified information to the New York Times just to advance his own partisan agenda and take down a President he disapproves of.

Sorry, I should clarify: the leaking, partisan former FBI Director I’m talking about is Robert Mueller.

It had to have been leaked by the "highly respected" ex FBI director Mueller's team ...he doesn't appear to the sharpest tool in the shed no does he?

I'm getting tired of hearing the name Mueller. Here's an idea. Why don't a group of us tax payers get together and sue Mueller for the tax money he has wasted on this witch hunt.

I would hope that, if it is real that Trump would be questioned (and, hey, how about over coffee with mueller, no oath or anything--worked for hilary!!!!) he has a lawyer sitting next to him who will answer to any question not directly related to TRUMP/Russia collusion for the ELECTION ONLY that the question is inappropriate for the mission of the investigation, and the President will not answer. Of course, there are those who would start a whole new campaign about his not answering irrelevant questions is an impeachable offense. Or, maybe he should take a slick willie tactic--"it depends on what "is" is."

Mike I'm writing to you in case you didn't receive an earlier note from me, which I may have accidentally closed out before hitting send, when my phone rang. Anyway, I love your newsletters; wanted to say that all the hoopla against Trump so reminds me of the story in Nehemiah (mainly chapters 4-6) where King Artaxerxes of Babylon had given permission and funding for the exiled Jews to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem, and enemies tried thwarting the work through numerous taunts and false accusations. Chapter 4:6-8 says, "I sent him this reply: 'Nothing like what you are saying is happening; you are just making it up out of your head.' They were all trying to frighten us, thinking, 'Their hands will get too weak for the work, and it will not be completed'... (Chapter 6:15-16, So the wall was complete on the twenty-fifth of Elul, in fifty-two days. When all our enemies heard about this, all the surrounding nations were afraid and lost their self-confidence, because they realized that this work had been done with the help of our Lord.")
The other thing I'd said, and again, forgive me if the previous e-mail message went out and this is redundant, but you, Mike Huckabee, are like the trumpeter in Nehemiah 4:19 & 20: "...But the man with the trumpet stayed with me... The work is extensive and spread out and we are widely separated from each other along the wall (gasp!). Wherever you hear the sound of the trumpet, join us there. Our God will fight for us!"
Hey, Mr. Huckabee, that makes you Trump's Trumpeter! Ha, Ha! That's funny!
Last of all, there might be merit in asking for volunteers in building the wall and doing the various chores related in getting that task done. There are thousands of conservative RV'ers traveling the country every week. Perhaps many of them would also volunteer. I know I'd be glad to apply as a volunteer. And though I'm 67, I'm strong and in good health and could, at least, make and serve food. Yes-sir-ee. Bring on the contractors, blueprints, guidelines, potable water, roving dump station and port-a-potties galore :-) It would be tough, but so worth it.

I do not believe these questions are leaks from the Mueller Team or from the Trump Team. I think a wannabe lawyer but drive by news commentator wrote them and sent them on to the media. The questions do not look like anything an attorney would write. It's written more in the style of the drive bys.

Why does Comey, McCabe and Brennan still have security clearances? Trump should cancel them immediately.

I heard that President Trump could sue Muller's team. Now that they've leaked again why not sue? Or suspend the investigation (stop funding) until the person who leaked the info is identified?

What if the questions "leaked" are just another made up "concern" by Mueller or Rosenstein or DNC or Comey, as a distraction? It's almost comical, who do they think they are kidding? I can see them "high-fiving" and impressing themselves (only) with their resistance movement. Yuch. I voted in my district yesterday, and the Republican candidate won!

Mike, with all of your comments (news articles) every day lately, along with those of numerous other conservative news posts, that indicate a high level of criminal activity by the swamp against Trump, how come the American people are not seeing any action against them to put them in the hooskow? Because of this, it appears that your and all the other outlets' comments are "wasted breath" and don't seem to mean squat for what's really happening in all this. All talk, no action by anybody.

Mueller has a "leak" & If from inside he Looks bad.
    Shake up Probe alone.
Watch & see whose "fired" or resigns within Probe.

Since it contained grammatical errors, the leak was most likely from Trump himself.

I think a first year law student could have written those questions. I hope Trump listens to his legal team (esp. Giuliani) and I wish he would run any tweets by them before releasing them.
