1. DAILY BIBLE VERSE

The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

Isaiah 40:8

MORNING NEWS BRIEFS

2. Jan. 6 casualties:

We already knew that the Democrats were trying to inflate the death toll of the January 6th Capitol riot so they wouldn’t have to admit that the only person who was violently killed was unarmed protester Ashli Babbitt, who was shot by a Capitol cop. They’ve tried to add in deaths of people who had heart attacks in the nearby vicinity of the Capitol and officers who died well after the 6th of strokes or suicides. But now, they’ve added a new “January 6th casualty” to their list that many people have never heard about before: Officer Billy Evans.

https://redstate.com/bonchie/2022/01/06/the-latest-false-claim-about-january-6th-may-be-the-most-brazen-indefensible-one-yet-n502885

You might not have heard of him because the media didn’t cover his death very much. Officer Evans was killed on April 2 by a black nationalist and former Nation of Islam follower who rammed a barricade while attempting to enter the Capitol grounds. It’s certainly a terrible tragedy, but it would be easier to connect Officer Evans to Kevin Bacon than to the January 6th pro-Trump protesters.

3. Reminder: Some Insurrectionists are okay for Democrats

As part of their January 6th TV pageant, the Democrats had Broadway star Lin Manuel Miranda and the cast of “Hamilton” do a musical number via Zoom. Hat tip to Ed Driscoll at Instapundit for reminding us that Miranda also played Hamilton in a Chicago performance of the show in 2017 in honor of Obama commuting the sentence of Oscar Lopez Rivera. He was the leader of the Puerto Rican independence group FALN that bombed buildings in the 1970s. He was sentenced to prison for…brace yourself…seditious conspiracy to overthrow the US government. Guess some insurrectionists are okay with Democrats.

Two things make this link worth clicking:

http://ace.mu.nu/archives/397263.php

One is that it points out that the organizers of the Democrats January 6th candlelight vigil were a group led by two “community organizers” linked to the Antifa group Shut Down USA that organized “disruptions” of Bush’s and Trump’s inaugurals. Or as some might call that, an attempt to subvert democracy.

The other is the great GETTR post from ThatRayShow that puts all these crocodile tears into perspective.

4. Congratulations Laura:

Big congratulations to “Huckabee” contributor Laura Ainsworth, whose other job is being an award-winning retro jazz vocalist. This rave review of her new Japanese best-of CD “Top Shelf” has been the most-viewed article at this music review site for a record-breaking nine weeks (so far!), and has now been named their most-viewed article of 2021!

https://geoffwilburmusic.com/2021/11/04/laura-ainsworth-top-shelf/

I hope you’ll check it out and keep her streak at #1 going for a record-extending 10th week! It’s well worth it; writer Eric Harabadian of Downbeat fame calls her “a brilliant interpreter of song” and “one of the most talented and entertaining vocalists – of any genre or era – on the music scene today!”

If you’d like to check out her fantastic music and support an artist who isn’t part of the far-left Hollywood crowd, you can find it all at https://shop.bandwear.com/collections/laura-ainsworth-shop

And here she is singing a Mills Brothers classic on a “Huckabee” digital exclusive: https://youtu.be/AGorRNgp4t4

(BTW, also congrats to her for just signing a deal to distribute her music in South Korea.)

5. Jobless claims rise:

The Labor Department reports that jobless claims rose last week to 207,000. They were expected to drop to 195,000, but analysts believe that fear of the Omicron COVID variant has caused more people to stay home instead of looking for work. Or maybe there are thousands of Americans who are willing and able to work, but are being fired for refusing to get vaccinated.

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/jobless-claims-at-207-000-more-than-expected-amid-omicron-surge

Meanwhile, this morning, the government reported that in December, nonfarm payroll jobs rose by 199,000, less than half the 400,000 predicted, which caused yet another drop in the stock market.

https://redstate.com/bonchie/2022/01/07/an-absolutely-horrific-jobs-report-follows-the-democrats-day-of-distractions-n503006

And this is why the Democrats and the media (but I repeat myself) are talking about nothing but “insurrection.” It's better than talking about "incompetence."

6. USPS asks for temporary waiver:

Latest sector hard-hit by President Biden’s vaccine mandate: the US Post Office.

https://www.foxbusiness.com/politics/usps-requests-temporary-waiver-biden-vaccine-mandate-warns-supply-chain

The Deputy US Postmaster sent an emergency request for a temporary waiver from the mandate to OSHA, arguing that it could result in the loss of so many postal workers that the agency’s ability to deliver mail and packages could be severely negatively impacted.

I wonder how many people who voted for Biden realized that it would not only mean empty store shelves, skyrocketing gas prices, rampaging inflation, more COVID and ironfisted vaccine mandates, but he would also somehow find a way to make mail delivery even slower?

8. Top News: Biden on "Jan. 6": disgraceful, dishonest, disgusting

Yesterday, we had one word to say about President Biden’s “Jan. 6” commemorative speech: DISGRACEFUL. (Well, it was the one printable word we had.) Honestly, it was just too nauseating to write about right then, but perhaps it’ll be a bit less gag-inducing now, with a little distance put between us and it.

Biden repeatedly lied in his roughly 25-minute speech from the hallowed Statuary Hall inside the Capitol complex.

“For the first time in our history,” he lied, “a President had not just lost an election, but tried to prevent the peaceful transfer of power.” Trump did no such thing and, in fact, was working within the process laid out in the Constitution. His rally was peaceful –- he TOLD participants to be peaceful –- and as such it was an expression of his constitutional right to peacefully protest. Biden implied in his speech that Trump had wanted his supporters to breach the Capitol, to physically prevent the vote from being certified, and had even personally engineered this. That is a lie.

He said Trump had sat in the White House dining room, “doing nothing for hours” with “the nation’s Capitol under siege” and the mob “hunted down members of Congress.” A timeline has been established that shows this, too, is a detestable lie.

Biden went on to lie about the election, too, and its aftermath. As Sophie Mann reports in Just The News, “Biden said there is no evidence, anywhere, to suggest that the results of the election were altered, flawed or in any way untrustworthy.” That claim is false, and recent polling shows most Americans don’t believe it. In fact, there’s plenty of evidence to suggest interference in a variety of creative ways. Was the election stolen outright, by strategically rigging the outcome in carefully targeted locations? We can’t say until enormous questions are answered and essential materials are provided to auditors. The lack of transparency is in itself suspect.

https://justthenews.com/government/white-house/anniversary-january-6-biden-says-trump-tried-prevent-peaceful-transfer-power

Biden didn’t hesitate to get personal about his predecessor, either, and that’s when the speech became shamefully unpresidential. Trump, he said, is someone who “values power over principle.” By refusing to accept the results of the election, he said, Trump is rejecting “the will of the people.” On the contrary, Trump believes the will of the people has been thwarted by those who would get into the White House by hook or by crook.

This pathetic speech was Biden’s own attempt to hold onto power as his presidency is clearly failing. A new Rasmussen poll of likely voters shows that only 28 percent think Biden will be re-elected. Another 21 percent think he’ll resign before the next election. And a plurality of 38 percent think he’ll lose to the Republican candidate. As The New York Times wrote in December, “On top of concerns about Biden’s age and general unpopularity, there is an overarching fear among Democrats of the possibility of a Trump comeback --- and a determination that the party must run a strong candidate to head it off.” Could there BE a weaker candidate for re-election than Joe Biden?

https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2022/01/06/only-28-percent-voters-think-biden-will-be-reelected/

Though the histrionics we saw yesterday seem ridiculously out of proportion to what actually happened (especially when that is compared to many months of BLM/Antifa violence), Glenn Greenwald warns that the Democrat Party and “the dominant wing of the U.S. corporate media” will play this for all it’s worth. “The orgy of psychodrama today was so much worse and more pathetic than I expected --- and I expected it to be extremely bad and pathetic,” he writes. And later, “Far too many centers of political and economic power benefit from an exaggerated and even false narrative about January 6 to expect it ever to end.”

https://greenwald.substack.com/p/the-histrionics-and-melodrama-around

The only thing I can think of that might cause this, if not to end, to at least recede a bit, is the revelation that protesters were “helped” past the barricades and into the Capitol that day, a scenario that seems more plausible all the time. We’ve brought you the excellent National File reporting on that, and here’s another report from Red State that raises more questions...

https://redstate.com/nick-arama/2022/01/06/whatever-happened-to-alleged-capitol-rioter-john-sullivan-n502773

If that’s what happened, it doesn’t excuse Trump supporters for playing along on an extremely ill-advised adventure, but it certainly adds a whole new dimension to the story. One thing Biden never mentioned in his speech was the fact that Trump offered thousands of National Guard troops to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi that day –- you know, to keep things peaceful and under control –- and Pelosi, who was in charge of security, turned him down. No, he never said a word about that.

I was an Army MP 1967-1970. I was with the 503 MP Battalion Fort Bragg, NC, We were often deployed to Washington D.C. during this era. We were there in full Battalion strength for riot control on and off during this time. Most notable when Rev. Martin King was killed. Other units there as needed frequently were from the 82nd Airborne Fort Bragg NC, Special Forces Fort Bragg NC, 504th MP BN, Fort Meade Md. Armed Forces Police D.C., Army National Guard, United States Marshals Office, Prince Georges County PD, Fairfax County PD, United States Park Service and of course MPDC. ( Metropolitan Police District of Columbia ), White House Police and Secret Service, Capital Police, D.C. and I'm sure there were other agencies too that I was unaware of.
All of the Above Military Units and civilian agencies served our nation's biding with Pride, Honor, Integrity and professionalism. Even when we were assaulted with human feces, urine, mud, rocks, stones, 2x4's with nails, molotov cocktails and much more. We rescued residents from burning buildings, helped Police, Firemen and EMS crews. Why wasn't any of the above except Capitol Police utilized? Politics.

Regarding the comments made by the two liberal Justices, Kegan & Sotomayor: Their comments were describing POLICIES, not the Constitutionality of the mandates. Their arguments come down to, if someone in power (President or Agency) decides something is not good for you, they have the right to tell you can't do it. Totally arbitrary. We all know when human decision making is involved, it is likely to be biased and not necessarily based on Truth.

Don't know about you, but I'm tired of hearing about "our Democracy". Don't those idiots know that we have a Republic? (If we can keep it.)

How much more hypocritical can Biden become. That j-6 speech was beyond nauseating.
