There are only three shopping days left until Christmas, but take a break from shopping for an hour and relax with tonight’s new, Christmas episode of “Huckabee” on TBN, stuffed full of goodies for you!  We’ll start off on a serious note, with “The Coddling of the American Mind” author Greg Lukianoff telling us how America’s universities have turned into kindergartens.  You’ll also meet a truly inspiring Huck’s Hero.  Then we'll hit the holiday road to a Christmas-themed “Our Kind of Town” and an amazing theater that presents the story that is the reason for the season. To get you “ho-ho-ho’ing,” I’ll have some crazy news “In Case You Missed It” and my staff’s most “memorable” Christmas gifts.  Finally, what’s Christmas without great music?  We sure have that: Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers will drop by to share their family Christmas memories and harmonies.  And we’ll send you off with a classic holiday tune by the brilliant Irish tenor, Anthony Kearns.

All that and more is headed down your chimney tonight at 8 and 11 EST, 7 and 10 CST, only on TBN.  To find the TBN channel in your local area and to stream previous episodes of “Huckabee,” visit https://www.tbn.org/programs/huckabee

Kisses without tips: the most baffling story of this Christmas season!

By Mike Huckabee

The news right now seems to consist mostly of stories that make no sense.  Gen. Flynn sticks to his guilty plea even though it appears for all the world that he is not guilty of the charge, and when people who HAVE lied repeatedly, under oath, to Congress and law enforcement walk free.  The judge in Flynn’s case does a sudden turn and inexplicably makes baffling statements in open court.  The Democrats are suddenly expressing deep concern about adding a mere $5 billion to the federal budget (“the wall is a wasteful expenditure!”) and are screaming because we’re pulling OUT of Syria.  Former FBI Director James Comey continues to say utterly mystifying and self-contradictory things.  We learn that Christopher Steele came right and said in a deposition that his “dossier” was funded by Hillary as a way to contest the election should she lose, and yet we hear crickets from the media.

But of all the news that defies reason, this has got to be the most frustrating and potentially incendiary story.  We demand answers now!

Pray for Ruth Bader Ginsburg

By Mike Huckabee

It was revealed that Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg underwent surgery Friday to remove two cancerous growths from her lung.  The surgery was reportedly a success, and she is said to be resting comfortably.  I wish her a speedy and painless recovery and hope you will remember her in your prayers.

Ainsworth: a different way to look at veterans

By Laura Ainsworth

How do you feel when you visit the hospital and walk down those long corridors crowded with people --- doctors, hospital staffers, patients who are mostly elderly?  Do you see the patients as they are today, fighting the ravages of age, injury or poor health, or do you sometimes imagine them as they might have been at an earlier time in their lives?

If you’re my friend Bill Sanner, a submariner and veteran of the U.S. Navy, this is the VA hospital, and for some reason your mind has decided to play that trick on you.  You suddenly find yourself in a time machine of sorts.

Bill tells me that walking down one of those long halls during a recent hospital visit, he suddenly saw the older vets in a different time, when they were very young, in their late teens or early twenties, all looking sharp and crisp in their uniforms or jungle fatigues.  (As he relates it, it sounds to me like an episode of the old Rod Serling TWILIGHT ZONE.)  The soldiers and sailors were walking briskly, not needing wheelchairs and canes at that young age, unless, of course, they’d been wounded in service to their country and were perhaps facing months or years of recovery.

Going back in time like that and seeing those who served as they were during their years of service gave Bill a different perspective on the lives of his fellow veterans.  They were in their youth, with their whole adult lives ahead of them, yet they were risking their entire future to serve their country.  They had no idea what their fate would be, but they gave it up to God or destiny.  Bill saw their lives as reflecting a true patriotism and a sense of honor that are very much diminished in the present day.

What do younger folks who have never served their country see when they walk down a busy hospital corridor among veterans like these?  Are they touched by the lingering sense of honor and patriotism and willing sacrifice, or do they just see sick old people whose care costs a lot of money?

Bill points out that those younger individuals who don’t appreciate such attributes are themselves advancing towards the same ultimate fate as their elders, though they no doubt manage to keep from thinking about it very much.  But Bill himself is very much aware of being on the same path, and he feels great pride as he travels down that same long corridor with his fellow vets.

…………….

Bill Sanner and I co-wrote a book about his experiences as a U.S. Navy submariner during the 1970s; it’s called THE SUB-PAR ADVENTURES OF SNAKEBITE & STONEFINGER.  (Bill’s nickname was “Snakebite”; "Stonefinger" was his best friend.  Through working on this book, I have been “adopted” by the submariners and now go by “Songbird.”)  Our book tells of the dual existence a sailor has, first while on patrol and then while at home with his family.  It manages to be informative and funny at the same time and even won an award, so if you’d like to check it out, you can find it on Amazon:  https://www.amazon.com/Sub-Par-Adventures-Snakebite-Stonefinger/dp/1517655420

Best gift book of Christmas

By Mike Huckabee

Here’s a scary sign for the health of the publishing industry, and for literacy in general: Barnes and Noble released its annual list of the 20 best holiday gift ideas.  It includes mittens, a Buddha board, Mickey Mouse speakers, several kinds of socks…and only one book.

https://www.marketwatch.com/story/barnes-nobles-top-20-holiday-gift-ideas-include-only-1-book-2018-12-05

Even worse, it suggests that the people at Barnes & Noble don’t even know what the best gift book of Christmas 2018 really is:

REGARDING SYRIA: While I believe POTUS Trump's heart is in the right place in wanting to bring home our brave troops, my fear is that both General Mattis and Senator Graham are correct in their observation. I lived in New Jersey at the time of 9/11 and lost both friends and neighbors in the attack. Religious persecutions and religious wars have always been with us....and the history of violence between Islam and Christianity is a matter of historical record. President Reagan used the borrowed phrase "peace through strength" --- and the meaning behind that phrase still resonates today.

    Syria implications:
    Russia moves in
    Civil war resumes
    ISIS retakes areas??
Israel moves to border for defense from Syrian radicals.
But Israel is the one under trouble if Syrian rebels decide to invade country>?
    Base for Hamas, etc PLA.

Do a gradual pullout of forces.
    Check 6.
    If possible,
    Reuse MOAB if needed.
    Keep ISIS at bay.

Mike, Just a little Christmas smile for you. I was sitting at the computer today when the mailman came up on the porch. I could see him from the window, and he had just a few things to put in the mailbox, but seemed to be having trouble with them, even dropped a few trying to put them in. Finally he left, so my husband opened the door to get the mail, and found out why the poor guy was fumbling stuff out there. Just under the mailbox was a HUGE spider that apparently didn't like being messed with. My husband sucked it up with the vacuum, but it makes me want to put a sign on the mailbox - "We got the spider." Don't know if you can make any political analogies out of that, but in today's climate, seems like we could all use a good laugh. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

EL CHAPO Pays for THE WALL!
I just heard that El Chapo is paying several Billions of $$ in fines to the USA. What a great source of funds for THE WALL, as it is non-budgeted $$ and comes from a Mexican!

Shutdown: Lets see how long it lasts & Senate closed 2 hours early to goon recess, Both Reps & Dems "screwed" the nation over,
I pray for 60 days, & have Schumer & Dems Take responsibility for actions.
OUR Lives are endanger since No Wall is UP.
& Use "GoFundMe" for border support??
    Or build wall.
    Blame the Dems for shutdown
    C them pay for 2020.
    Or Recall Schumer & allies.
    Blame RINOs 2.
Shutdown should include No Pay for House or Senate till funding resolved.
    Then C some action.
