At this writing, it’s not known who mailed the ten (at last count) “suspicious packages” to Democratic leaders, high-dollar supporters and media figures, and we can still only theorize about their goal. But that hasn’t stopped people on both left and right from spraining their fingers pointing them so hard. It’s sadly true that the rough, aggressive speech has escalated on both sides (mostly on the left, but still). Not surprisingly, though, the dominant media are quick to blame the President’s “tone” and talk of body slams and such while failing to address the wild, frantic, borderline-insane antics on the left. Should we be blaming this more in-your-face attitude and the tougher talk –- on either or both sides –- for the real violence that’s taking place in some parts of our country?

Andrew C. McCarthy, one of our favorite go-to legal experts, has a thought-provoking new column about this that challenges our propensity for assigning cause-and-effect to speech and violence. The title says it all: “Stop Blaming Mass-Murder Attacks on Obnoxious Political Rhetoric.” Let’s see if he makes the case.

National Guard to the border

By Mike Huckabee

The Trump Administration is sending 800 National Guard troops to the southern US border to supplement the 2100 already assisting Homeland Security, in case the nearly 10,000-strong caravan of migrants from Central America tries to make good on their vow to enter the US.  Meanwhile, President Trump is considering issuing a sweeping executive order that would effectively bar all migrants, including asylum seekers, from entering the country.  He believes he can't be stopped this time by some federal judge in San Francisco or Hawaii waving a magic gavel that allegedly gives him authority over the President on national security, particularly after a recent Supreme Court decision reaffirmed his power to block migrants who “would be detrimental to the interests of the United States.”

It would be a shame if such a drastic step were taken because it might block people who are legitimately in need of asylum.  But those who would attack Trump for shutting down the system that aids asylum seekers need to face up to their own responsibility: when you support the destruction of the immigration system, you have no grounds to complain when it’s shut down.  Maybe if the migrants and the Democrats would respect America’s system for dealing with migrants, asylum seekers and would-be immigrants instead of declaring war on it, it wouldn’t be necessary to replace it with National Guard troops.

Oxford: Beware of apps

By Mike Huckabee

I’ll bet you have a cell phone filled with apps. Well, an Oxford study found that no matter where the apps come from, Google and Facebook can use them to commit the cyber equivalent of moving into your house to rummage through your drawers, snoop into your medicine cabinet and read your diary.

I wrote recently about the media’s ill-conceived assumptions that enforcing immigration laws is hateful and racist, and that legal immigrants and Hispanic Americans are inherently supportive of illegal immigration, even the thousands-strong caravan that’s now making its way across Mexico and vowing to breach the US border.  Univision apparently shares those delusional assumptions, so they sent a reporter into the streets to get some caravan-supporting, Trump-bashing B-roll in Spanish.  Oops.  The responses did not turn out the way they expected.

Megyn Kelly

By Mike Huckabee

It looks as if Megyn Kelly’s time at NBC’s “Today” show is over. She was the latest target of a PC pile-on for saying that when she was a kid, whites wearing blackface makeup or blacks wearing whiteface makeup when they dressed up as characters for Halloween was more acceptable than it is now.  That seems unarguably true, but just for saying so, she was blasted as racially insensitive. Naturally, NBC couldn’t allow her to continue sullying their pristine, ultra-woke show that covered up for Matt Lauer’s sexual misbehavior for years.

I have a feeling this is really just a convenient smokescreen for getting out of Kelly’s contract because her ratings weren’t as high as hoped and the liberal NBC audience was never going to give a fair shot to a former Fox News host.  NBC might have to pay her $69 million to get out of the contract, and I hope she holds them to the letter of it. The way network TV is driving away its audience, she’d better get the money while they still have it.

In the meantime, guess which liberal darling and TV host at another ultra-woke major network is not losing his job, even though he actually wore blackface makeup not that long ago.

Terrible news leads to this...

By Mike Huckabee

Terrible news: the 150-year-old First Baptist Church of Wakefield, Massachusetts, has been destroyed by a fire.  Lightning started a blaze that reduced most of the church to ashes.  But from the ashes arose a miracle: click the link to see the one thing that survived the inferno.

Many years ago, a portable building used as a library in a school yard burned, melting the computers as well as every else. I saw the only surviving item, a Bible, that had a few singed edges but still totally readable. It sent shivers through my body and as a Christian, believe in miracles, signs, or anything that points us to a higher power no matter what we call our God. I will pray for all the atheists, agnostics, haters, etc. who attempt to rid us of what I will term as hope for believers. Love your TV show and watch every week.

Once again we see that the truth is immutable. It withstands the passage of time and social fads, it remains fixed and unmoving despite all the assaults of powers and principalities. The Word of God admonishes, warns, pleads with us. Very few hear it. “As you sow, so shall you shall reap.” You want to indulge in hatred, character assassination, violence? You shall reap these things a hundredfold even to the tenth generation. STOP THE HATE! The hour is very late for many of you, but there is still time to turn back.

Non-Border crossings...why can't officials, and civilians use rubber (prefer hard instead of "nerf") , bullets, bean bags, tear gas on OUR SIDE with large fans blowing it across the borders, signs and plywood painted decoys of WARNING crocodiles, alligators, and snakes in the river, robotic alligators seen swimming in the river, dummy bodies hanging over the wall with rotting meat smells, (some good Halloween gore special effects with guts and all and lots of stage blood...and scariest of all huge pictures of ANGRY Polosi and Waters faces on the Mexican side...it would better the witches were eating children. PLUS doesn't the rule/LAW say..."IF one foot touches the USA soil"...then put huge wide (at least 50--100 ft. wide), thick PLASTIC strips/rolls all along the USA side of border wall etc....TECHNICALLY they have NOT "Touched" USA SOIL!" Then shoot the crap out of them with rubber bullets. Plus maybe some really deep trenches covered in plastic next to the fence as well...when they jump they jump into a plastic lined pit and holds them till authorities can arrest them!!!
