Remember free speech? That was great while it lasted, wasn’t it? It obviously no longer exists in the Washington Commanders (formerly Redskins) organization, where defensive coach Jack Del Rio was fined $100,000, even after he apologized for asking why we were making so much of a “dust-up at the Capitol,” where nothing was burned down, but an entire summer of “riots, looting, burning and destruction of personal property,” where people’s livelihoods were destroyed and businesses were burned down, is never discussed and “no problem.” He tried to explain, “I just think it’s kind of two standards and if we apply the same standard and we’re going to be reasonable with each other, let’s have a discussion.”

https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2022/06/washington-commanders-fine-defensive-coach-jack-del-rio-100000-calling-january-6-capitol-riot-dust-compared-george-floyd-riots/

For that, head coach Ron Rivera accused him of drawing an equivalence “between the events of that dark day and peaceful protests, which are a hallmark of our democracy.” He went on, “I want to make it clear that our organization will not tolerate any equivalency between those who demanded justice in the wake of George Floyd’s murder and the actions of those on Jan. 6 who sought to topple our government.”

Certainly, there were “peaceful protests,” but I think he was likely referring instead to the people who tried to burn down a courthouse with people inside; and whose violence, looting, arson and vandalism left 19 people dead and over 2,000 police officers and an unknown number of civilians injured, and caused damages estimated at up to $2 billion, the costliest civil unrest in US history.

FYI, just to show how fair I am, I’m going to link to a liberal site that attempts to downplay the riots and debunk that figure.

https://nationalinterest.org/blog/politics/how-much-damage-did-summer-2020-riots-really-cause-202945

Also because I find it amusing that even though the writer twists the facts like a pretzel to make it sound not so bad, in the end, he still has to admit that, yeah, it could’ve been as high as $2 billion. But insurance companies had to pay most of it so it doesn’t count, apparently. Because insurance companies don’t raise everyone’s rates when their costs go sky high.

That’s like saying that we all aren’t losing our free speech rights, just because Jack Del Rio was the one who has to pay a $100,000 fine for making a perfectly reasonable statement that millions of Americans agree with.

One who agrees and who is still exercising his right to really free speech is author/blogger Larry Correia, who unleashed a brutal Twitter thread about why most Americans don’t care about January 6th. Warning: really bad language alert. He might have to put $100,000 into the swear jar.

Mike, I think we are seeing a true out in the open insurrection from the hard left towards a one party system and a blatent attempt to ditch the Constitution in favor of a straight up communist takeover. Further attempts will force a real revolution for which the communists might want to revisit the fact that history dictates that they will lose. I'm against violence but if this is what they are seeking, they will find it and they will regret it.

I saw a meme the other day that talked about there being a nationwide manhunt for those who stormed the U.S.Capitol on Jan 6th, but there's no manhunt for those looting, burning, injuring, and killing during the "summer of love" in 2020. Somebody responded that over 10,000 people have been arrested in connection with these activities. I was shocked at such a claim and decided to google it. Sure enough I found several articles that stated exactly that. What is the truth behind this claim?

    Gov. Huckabee,

I have great hopes that your “crew” will forward this suggestion to you. I’m reasonably sure that it will provoke some thoughts from you toward a commentary regarding the spate of food plant, and now refinery “mishaps”.
Many years ago, I read a novel by Edward Abbey written in 1975 and titled “The Monkey Wrench Gang”. After my struggles to remember the title, I fixed on the name of the main character, “George Hayduke”. Both are in “Wikipedia” and offer some background on the novel and the main character.
It is my feeling that there is someone, or more than likely some group that is/has taken the main ideas from this book, and is using those ideas to commit what I believe are these heinous crimes against our country.
When one looks at these “public” reports, one can notice similarities between what is happening now and what is described in the book. After acknowledging the fact that the Socialist Liberals are mostly incapable of any original thought, I find it rather “intriguing” that first, this destruction is happening with no one killed or injured, second the timing of the occurrences is incredible, and third, there is virtually no evidence of any “dark” entity’s involvement.
Gov. Huckabee, I am a retired engineer, with over thirty years in petroleum exploration, I am not a conspiracy theorist, I am extremely logic - oriented, and as such, I simply don’t believe in coincidences. Especially those of this type and magnitude.
I realize that you and your crew will have many more methods of “follow - up” than I would ever have. I also know that this above scenario is running through your mind also.
I’m not sure if your crew will deem this letter to you as worthy for your perusal, I can only hope that if it is deemed as such, it will be of some help to you in uncovering any actual treachery that might be involved.
As a side note, I am aware of some of the methods that could be used to accomplish the desired ends for these acts to come to fruition for, ------ well would it be proper to “label” these bad guys (if they do indeed exist) as “BIORAIDERS” ??

The doofus that is the head cry-baby of the Washington Commanders needs to wake up. Or maybe I shouldn't use "wake" since it has a different connotation to some. But anyway: His actions are as outrageous as the protesting of Colin Krapperprick or whatever his name really is; I'm not sure.

Ron Rivera has proven himself to be a moral disgrace. And as much as I never liked the Washington Redskins, I have more dislike for the current Washington football team. And just like the people who refuse to mention the name of mass shooters, I refuse to mention the name of the Washington football team any more. And if Ron Rivera showed his face near me, I would let him know what I think of him in terms a lot less polite than this letter.

Free Speech is only allowed when you are on one side/page, of the politics /issues, these days. Agree with liberal people and you get star treatment, but woe be to the person who would actually think for themselves and have even a mildly different opinion on any liberal issues and it’s “to the salt mines” for them! Sorry but not sorry for pointing out the hypocrisy of the “acceptance people “ who scream how great they are in your face while smashing your windows and looting your business. Too many spoiled people running around thinking they are entitled to everything others have worked for. That’s what climate change needs changed! Their own climate.

I am absolutely frustrated that Del Rio apologized! He said nothing wrong whatsoever in his comment and I wish that he would have had the fortitude to not be cancelled. I wish he would have stood up to the NFL and political pressure. He was right on and stated what so many actually are thinking. This is another tragic example of where the left has pushed our culture. Being fined $100,000 for saying the truth!?! Praying for Del Rio and his family.
