POLL:  Would President Trump be right to revoke the top-secret security clearances of those who misuse classified information? VOTE HERE

---------------------------------------------

The media have been so desperate to make sure you don’t notice the EU caving to President Trump on tariffs, North Korea starting to keep its promises and GDP growth surging to 4.1% that they've been filling the news this past week with hysterical trivialities.

The spin-o-rama reached its peak with the four-alarm headline scoop that a sleazy lawyer who’d just been caught telling a massive lie the very day before planned to give his word of “honor” that President Trump knew about a meeting where someone from Russia promised campaign dirt on Hillary – a meeting that took place nearly two years ago, that came to nothing and wasn’t illegal. And all this hot gas came from media outlets that yawned bigger than tired hound dogs at the news that Hillary’s campaign had funneled $10 million through a law firm to buy campaign dirt on Trump from Russians, which the FBI then got a FISA court to accept as “evidence” to spy on his campaign. And they seriously wonder why people now prefer to get their news from Facebook, YouTube or Magic 8-Balls?

2018 Elections Update

By Mike Huckabee

I always warn people not to pay too much attention to polls, particularly not polls taken months in advance of an election, when most Americans are too busy with real life (summer activities, getting the kids back to school, etc.) to pay attention to the political horse race obsessions of the media class. And when you’re talking about “generic preference polls,” where it’s only about parties and not even actual candidates, you’ve descended to a whole new level of worthlessness.

Still, the fact that Real Clear Politics shows Democrats well ahead in all such polls in the races for Congress, with an average lead of 7.3 points, is both worrisome and baffling. Intelligent people can’t help but look at the desire to return power to Democrats, shake their heads and ask, “Why?!” Are they really tired of winning already?

Socialism leads to misery and destitution

By Mike Huckabee

Earlier this week, I dashed off a little treatise about the attempt by too many Democrats (many of them young, naïve, miseducated liberal arts grads) to “normalize” socialism. I pointed out the fatal flaws in it and noted that in small doses, it merely cripples nations; while in large doses, it’s toxic on a mass scale. This shouldn’t be controversial. We have over a hundred years of proof, running right up to this week, when the socialist leader of Venezuela told his starving citizens his solution for the hyperinflation that’s made the nation’s money worthless: just lop five zeroes off its valuation. He should’ve told them instead to use the currency as toilet paper. At least then, it would finally have real value again.

More San Francisco problems

By Mike Huckabee

Among the many crises in San Francisco that are directly attributable to loony leftwing governance, add the lack of affordable housing. Leaders like to make excuses, like a lack of developable land, but that’s nonsense. There’s plenty of land for housing, but it would easier to saw through a petrified redwood tree with an eco-friendly hemp drinking straw than to hack through all the government paperwork and “no growth” restrictions that keep anyone from building there.

Walter's story: Humility and work ethic pays off for young Marin

By Mike Huckabee

At a time when we have plenty of reason to be down on social media, it’s wonderful to find a story like this being shared all around on Facebook...
