2. A little good news

By Mike Huckabee

Kirk Cameron announced that two libraries, in New York and Indianapolis, have reversed themselves and will let him do presentations on his new children’s book “As You Grow” that promotes Biblical values. These were two of the libraries that have hosted “drag queen story hours” to promote “diversity,” but whose respect for diversity didn’t extend to recognizing Christians. Fortunately, the threat of a lawsuit made them see the light.

So two libraries that blocked him down, now only about 48 more to go.

3. Life in 2022

By Mike Huckabee

A pro-life priest has been defrocked by the Vatican for “blasphemous communications” because he wrote social media posts opposing abortion. We might have to come up with a new expression for something being obvious other than, “Is the Pope Catholic?”

Related: Since Roe v. Wade was overturned, the number of TV shows depicting abortions and the (unreasonable and sexist, of course) barriers to obtaining them has skyrocketed.

Most of these shows completely misrepresent almost every aspect of abortion, and not just by employing the usual fuzzy euphemisms to hide what it actually is. For instance, on TV, the typical abortion seeker is a wealthy white woman, while in real life, the majority of abortions are performed on poor minority women, which has resulted in a virtual genocide of black babies over the last few decades to the profit of Planned Parenthood, which was founded by a racist eugenicist. That’s something you won’t see Hollywood celebrating, or even acknowledging.

I’ve also often pointed out that while the entertainment industry is radically pro-abortion, they make very few movies in which the main character “chooses” to abort her own child. These latest abortion plotlines usually center on one-time characters, like a patient in a show about the doctors. But oddly enough, when a main character gets pregnant, she (and I am old fashioned enough to say “she”) almost always decides to have the baby. This seems to be a tacit admission that for all the pro-abortion propaganda they spew out, privately, show creators know that most Americans reject the slaughter of pre-born babies and will not keep watching a show whose main character embraces it.

In short, they will push leftist politics only up to the point where it starts to impact their bottom line. But then, that’s no surprise. It’s been Hollywood’s business model for years.

4. A winter storm is coming

By Mike Huckabee

The National Weather Service warns that a major winter storm system will be hitting much of the Northern and Eastern US this week, bringing heavy snow and rain and bitter cold between now and Christmas Eve. Please keep a close watch on the weather news this week, be prepared to protect yourselves and your animals, and take all necessary precautions, especially if you’re planning to travel over Christmas. We want you safely back with us in 2023.

5. Trump to endorse McCarthy

By Mike Huckabee

Friday, former President Trump weighed in on the contentious House Speaker’s race, throwing his endorsement to GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy, who is being challenged by Arizona Rep. Andy Biggs with the backing of some conservatives.

Trump made the “don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good” argument, reminding Republicans of how they replaced John Boehner with Paul Ryan, who turned out to be “a disaster.” As noted at the link, I don’t think Trump was impugning Biggs so much as pointing out what I already have: if the conservative alternative doesn’t have enough support to win, then withholding their votes could force McCarthy to seek votes from moderate Democrats (losing future leverage for conservatives) or result in a more liberal “compromise” Speaker. The latter is unlikely, but it’s not worth tearing the Party apart to take a risk that has no foreseeable payoff.

Read the full article. Trump had a lot more to say on this issue, and the writer makes a good analogy to the 2022 Ohio Senate race as an example of the possible strategy behind Trump’s endorsement of McCarthy.
