Latest Updates from Snowflake Nation: About 25 Duke University students with a megaphone recently crashed an alumni event (ironically, the 50th anniversary of the “Silent Vigil”), stormed the stage, shouted down the speaker, made a bunch of the usual demands (including a claim that Duke needs to hire more counselors – that I could believe), and generally acted like the overindulged toddlers that too many of today’s college students have become.

But something unexpected happened: some alumni voiced support for their right to protest, but others booed, heckled, cursed them or just turned their backs to them until they finally shut up and left. Those students are now absolutely shocked that they might have to face negative consequences for their actions.

Sorority girls make WWII Veteran's dream come true

By Mike Huckabee

Feel-Good Story of the Day: One of the members of the Phi Mu sorority of the University of Southern Mississippi is a social work intern who helps care for War II Navy veteran Paul Sonnier. He’s in hospice care and his last wish was to “dance with a beautiful woman.” But he’s bedridden and can’t dance. So the sorority arranged for an ambulance to transport him in his bed to a special dance in honor of his 92nd birthday.

His daughter said it was the first time he’d been out of the house in a long time. He got to pass out flowers to all the “pretty women” who gathered around him, and he was “super happy.” So a big salute to him and to the wonderful, kind women of Phi Mu sorority.

Even if he couldn’t get up and do the jitterbug anymore, Mr. Sonnier said, “It feels good to be with all these beautiful women.” Proving that once a Navy man, always a Navy man.

New York Times fact checks itself

By Mike Huckabee

The New York Times corrected its claim that it’s just a “right-wing conspiracy theory” that the Palestinian Authority paid $400 million in pensions to families of terrorists who were killed or jailed in Israel for attacking Israelis. In fact, many PA officials, including President Mahmood Abbas, have publicly admitted to making the payments and vowed never to stop. The Times had to concede that it was not a “right-wing conspiracy theory,” but the truth. To make it doubly embarrassing, this fake news appeared in an article about Facebook’s new efforts to police fake news. I hope they do a better job of it than the Times.

Although maybe the Times meant that the “fake news/conspiracy theory” part was the $400 million figure. Last year, it was just over $347 million; this year, they’re increasing it to $403 million. Fact-checking!

CNN's Jim Acosta

By Mike Huckabee

CNN’s Jim Acosta is backpedaling on a comment he made to Variety, calling President Trump’s sleights against the media (like “Fake News CNN”) an “act,” but claiming there are some people around the country who don’t know it’s an act, and "they don’t have all their faculties in some cases — their elevator might not hit all floors. My concern is that a journalist is going to be hurt one of these days."

After getting slammed by conservatives for apparently implying that Trump supporters are violent mental defectives, Acosta claimed his comments had been twisted and he wasn’t referring to Trump supporters but to people who would attack journalists. Okay, I take him at his word that he was misquoted. After all, who can trust the media to get quotes right?

But I can’t let this story pass without calling attention to another self-pitying comment by Acosta: “They take attacks from Sean Spicer and Sarah Sanders and what they do to us on a daily basis very seriously."

Seriously, Jim? You really think that when my daughter walks into that lion’s den that used to be a crib full of lap dogs when Obama was President, and has to put up with the constant hostility, ridiculous questions, and rude shouting and sniping and interruptions, that she’s the one who’s abusing you? If that’s what you think the rest of us see, then maybe it’s your mental elevator that needs repairing.

Likely voters poll

By Mike Huckabee

A new poll of likely voters by Dick Morris and McLaughlin & Associates found that they are inclined to agree with President Trump’s low opinion of Robert Mueller’s endless and endlessly expanding investigation. By a consistent, roughly 10-point margin (largely fueled by Independents), respondents agree that the probe has overstepped its designated purpose, that it’s found no real evidence of corruption by Trump, and no evidence of collusion with Russia to influence the election. On the charge that it’s gone on too long and cost too much, Americans agree by a whopping 20% margin: 52-32%.

One intriguing detail of the results caught my eye: 33% of respondents apparently believe that the investigation has uncovered evidence that Trump colluded with Russia to influence the election. I’d love to be able to ask them a follow-up question:

“What evidence is that, and would you like to share it with Robert Mueller, because he can’t seem to find it”?

I enjoy reading your Commentary every day! I want to tell you how much Millions of people love your daughter, Sarah Sanders! It's disgusting how the liberal biased media try to attack her daily! She's the best! She handles them well! And the biased media think we can't see through them? I would go as far to say Sarah just may be our first Woman President ??

Thank you Governor Huckabee for your stout defense of your daughter, and we bless her for the job she does so well. It is a pleasure to have a father speak up for his child. President Harry Truman once told a reporter who had rebuked him for speaking out in defense of his daughter Margaret that he was a father long before he became President. God bless you for the news report you post daily. Your daughter is an intelligent and lovely lady.

I am in Columbia, SC, where you spoke tonight, and I'm so sorry I couldn't be there, but thank you for supporting that wonderful organization.
As I watched the late news on our local NBC affiliate, there was a commercial which almost made me explode...it was a man urging Americans to visit "need to impeach.com" . So, how is Trump expected to go forward with his agenda when the left is promoting what has always been their platform since he won the election, to succeed in impeaching him? For what??? I'll try to find a link, just in case someone else wants to get as mad as I am right now. Here it is:"https://www.needtoimpeach.com/" Let's those of us with some good sense, pray for our POTUS, and his family. They need more help than we can provide. Thank you!!
