I hadn’t planned on saying much about the upcoming IG report from Inspector General Michael Horowitz. To do so seems, in a way, to be legitimizing the leaks, when their release is obviously part of a strategy to minimize damage from the report. The real time for commentary will be when the full report is released December 9 and when Horowitz testifies before Lindsay Graham’s Senate Judiciary Committee December 11.

But that was before Margot Cleveland, senior contributor to THE FEDERALIST, had an excellent column relating to it.

Personally, I haven’t had much hope that the IG report will be as hard-hitting as it needs to be. It’s one of those internal self-investigations that typically go the extra mile to excuse bureaucratic misconduct. Certainly I’ve had no reason to expect that FBI Director Christopher Wray would support more than a cursory look at the misbehavior, and there’s no telling what he might decide to take out. Also, Horowitz is limited when it comes to investigatory tools: he can’t impanel a grand jury or even subpoena witnesses. So even though some commentators have said their sources told them the Horowitz report would expose shocking behavior, I was still skeptical. After all, Horowitz is the IG who acknowledged wrongdoing by the FBI in their “Mid-Year Exam” investigation into Hillary’s emails but who essentially let it go, saying there was no evidence that officials’ political bias changed the outcome of the investigation. That nonsensical conclusion, more than anything else, told me to keep my expectations super-low.

With gratitude,

Impeachment time-out

By Mike Huckabee

It’s Thanksgiving week, and that means Congress is recess. It provides a long-overdue and much-needed break…for the American people. In fact, Congress being in recess just might be the #1 thing that most Americans give thanks for this year.

This week off will give Democrats some time to think very carefully about what their next move should be.  Polls show support for impeachment cratering among Independents after their pathetic show trial. They paraded a lot of arrogant bureaucrats’ hurt feelings that their boss wasn’t taking their advice, and a lot of third-hand hearsay, but unearthed not a single document or first-hand witness to confirm that President Trump did anything criminal. You wouldn’t know that if you listened to the liberal media outlets, who keep blaring that the evidence of wrongdoing is “overwhelming,” without specifying a single jot of said “evidence.”

The Democrats must be grateful for the media cover, but they know it won’t last forever.  They now have a choice: either admit they served up a goose egg in public and decline to vote…or cave in once again to their rabid, anti-Trump, leftwing constituency, gin up some bogus charges based on nothing, and vote to impeach the President. The former would be an embarrassment, the latter a disaster. Like Brer Rabbit, Trump is practically begging them to vote to impeach him, so it can go to the Senate, where a trial run by Mitch McConnell will allow Republicans at last to call their own witnesses, including Hunter Biden, Adam Schiff and his pet “whistleblower,” and put them under an electron microscope, which is the last thing on Earth they want.

Nancy Pelosi’s best out would be to make one of her patented eye-roller speeches about how serious Trump’s “crimes” are, but because the Democrats care so very, very deeply about the Constitution, and we’re so close to an election, they have decided that the voters should make this decision.  Yes, I know it’s a complete 180 from what we know she really thinks, but what else are they going to do?  Jump into the Senate briar patch?

As this article at the Epoch Times points out, if the Democrats really believed that Trump was the urgent, clear and present danger to the Republic that they claim he is, why would they take a weeklong break before even deciding whether to vote to impeach him?  It’s an obvious tell that they know this is just partisan political theater, and it’s flopping.

That article also reveals that they believe their best hope is that this week, the anti-Trump leftists in your family will convince everyone else over Thanksgiving dinner that the Dems actually made a case for impeachment.  So they’re actually hoping that the obnoxious college student in your family will ruin the holiday feast by spouting a lot of leftist politics at the table.

Well, that should make them popular.  I imagine it will go over about as well as last year’s lecture about how the Thanksgiving turkey should’ve been made of vegan tofu.

I wanted to make sure you also read these comments:

The UCU, the British union of university lecturers, published a document on “trans inclusion” that declares that not only should men be able to identify as women and we all have to pretend that’s true, but that people should be able to “identify” as any race or gender they want and even to identify as disabled.  So if you’re a straight, white, healthy male, you can claim to be a disabled black lesbian, and nobody is allowed to question it. (Hard to believe this is the nation that gave us the English language.)

This is so clearly insane that it even sparked outraged responses from PC leftists who have been pushing the embrace of narrower self-delusions for years. But the UCU is defending it, using arguments that have become standard dogma for this sort of creeping denial of reality; it’s just that now, they’ve just gone whole hog.

Perhaps the UCU’s critics don’t realize how much easier it will be for them to find parking spaces now that everyone can simply claim to identify as “disabled.”

Very good news from Hong Kong, although the way China reacts to it might be very bad news:

Guess which celebrity said that leftist intellectuals used to be the most interesting people but now, they’ve “become the church lady…It’s embarrassing. We’re offended by comedy and science. It’s pathetic.”  Here’s a hint: he’s from the world of rock music, and he’s not Ted Nugent.

For those who fear that Thanksgiving dinner just won’t be fattening enough, consider this new recipe for the mac ‘n’ cheese turkey.

I don’t think I’d do this to a turkey, but if you have a liberal at the table who was planning to harangue you about impeachment, serving something this orange might trigger him/her to flee to a safe space so the rest of you can eat in peace.

Bible Verse of the Day (KJV)

"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

- 2 Chronicles 7:14

You had a great guest on a few days ago. Speaking about a vote congress has to take, to renew its enforcement (on this 12/05/2019). Have you caught wind about how many: if ins or, if outs; can be assumed? Your opinion may be in a world by itself. No one else appears to care, one way or the other! Please, would it be your opinion, to ring the ship bells?

I have noticed all haters of the President and those who support him can only throw out ad hominem attacks. O have been sworn at and called names I can't repeat. What is your take on that?

When an illegal alien commits a crime and is arrested and then freed when ICE issues a detain-er request and that illegal goes and commits another very serious crime why is not the public officials responsible for his/her release held responsible for the crime committed by the illegal.
There should be some recourse to sue them
