Today's Edition

For people who have no sense of humor, Democrats seem to have no sense of “serious,” either.

First, let's examine the premise that Democrats have no sense of humor. I can personally attest to that. On Thursday, I tweeted something so outrageously silly that no one in his right mind would take it seriously. I forgot there were clueless Democrats out there and that I needed to add “THIS IS A JOKE, YOU IDIOTS."

Here’s what I tweeted: “I’ll be on @seanhannity [email protected] FoxNews at 9pm ET and will explain how @realDonaldTrump will be eligible for a 3rd term due to the illegal attempts by Comey, Dems, and media, et al, attempting to oust him as @POTUS so that’s why I was named to head up the 2024 re-election.” It went on: “Greatly honored to be asked to chair @realDonaldTrump re-election campaign for @POTUS in 2024. Gives me lots of time to plan! By then the Dems will no longer be a political party in America, replaced by the New Whig Party.”

Democrats flipped their whigs.

Now, since comedy is (or should be) based on truth, I should say that certain elements of my tweet were true. I WAS going to be on with Sean Hannity at 9pm ET on Thursday. There certainly WAS (and still is) illegality involved in the attempt to bring down the President. But the rest of the tweet is so obviously in jest that I was not expecting to be “fact-checked.”

The UK Elections

By Mike Huckabee

For years, I’ve warned against reading too much into foreign elections.  There are always local issues that can greatly affect elections in ways that don’t apply to us. Still, House Democrats who are being pushed to vote for Trump’s impeachment must be waking up to news of yesterday’s elections in the UK with all the enthusiasm of someone getting out of bed to go face the guillotine.

Britain’s staunchly liberal media had assured the public that polls were tightening and showed a close race.  There was talk of Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn (a Marx-admiring, AOC-endorsed, self-proclaimed “democratic socialist” and the Bernie Sanders of Britain, only with a dollop of anti-Semitism thrown in) becoming Britain’s first socialist Prime Minister in 40 years.

But now, as the Brits say, “it’s all over bar the shouting,” and as one headline put it, the socialist dream is dead. In a landslide victory for his Conservative Party, Boris Johnson will remain Prime Minister with 364 of the 650 seats in the House of Commons, and a 78-seat majority over the Labour Party.  It’s the biggest win for conservatives since Margaret Thatcher in 1983 and the worst showing for Labour.  Johnson vowed that all the stalling and calling for a do-over vote on Brexit (the movement to get the UK out of the European Union and reclaim its national sovereignty from unelected Brussels bureaucrats) is done.  As for Corbyn, he resigned overnight as leader of the Labour Party.

President Trump hailed the results and hinted at striking a “massive new trade deal” with the UK after Brexit that will “be far bigger and more lucrative than any deal that could be made with the E.U.”  He must love the fact that smug British leftists tried to compare Johnson to Trump, not realizing that to voters, that wasn’t an insult, it was an incentive.  They also didn’t appreciate having a smug class of incompetent elitists stealing their rights, denigrating their national culture and trying to negate their votes in an election because they think they know better than the people.

Okay, maybe there are some parallels between the British election and our next election.  The Democrats had better be praying that’s not true.  But they’d also better start acting as if it were, if they don’t want to wake up next November feeling like Jeremy Corbyn.

If you’d like to learn more about this election and its background and ramifications in more depth, but also in typically witty prose, then check out Mark Steyn’s recap.

I wanted to make sure you also read these comments:

I’ve been waiting to comment on the horrific shooting at a Jewish supermarket in Jersey City, New Jersey, until it was clear who was responsible. It’s too bad some other prominent people didn’t do the same.

The shooting left four people dead, including a yeshiva student, the co-owner of the store (a mother of three), a father of three and member of the local Assemblies of God Church, and a police officer who was the father of five.  Two other officers were wounded.

We now know the killers were members of the radical anti-Semitic hate group, the Black Israelites, and surveillance video proves they deliberately targeted the Jewish market.  Their vehicle slowly pulled up and stopped, they got out, ignoring other passersby, then went in and started shooting the people inside.

At the link, Daniel Greenfield of Frontpage magazine has much more information on this tragic shooting and the group itself, but also on the media’s history of covering for this group and putting a positive spin on them.  Greenfield also notes that the Southern Poverty Law Center, which seldom sees a conservative Christian group it doesn’t call a “hate group,” described the Black Israelites as “victims of racism and claimed that they were non-violent.”

If the name sounds familiar, this was the group that accosted and began shouting race-baiting insults at a group of Catholic high school boys in MAGA caps in Washington, DC. The media narrative in that story was that the boys who were being bullied were the racist aggressors (see my recent story about a judge allowing one of the boys’ massive defamation lawsuits to proceed.)

Greenfield says all these liberal groups who have covered for this organization, defended it and misrepresented what it really stands for now have innocent blood on their hands. Maybe now, more people will have their eyes opened and not blindly accept what they’re spoon-fed by the left about where all the violence, hatred and anti-Semitism resides.

I hope, at least, that that’s the case for Rep. Rashid Tlaib…

…And “The View’s” Joy Behar…

…both of whom immediately rushed to blame the shooting on “white nationalists.”  The left keeps repeating this canard that President Trump encourages “white nationalists,” even though he’s made it clear that they “should be condemned, totally.”

Now that Tlaib, Behar and all the rest who leapt to conclusions know who actually committed this atrocity, are they going to be as swift and firm in condemning all the liberals who encouraged and covered for them?

It must be frustrating for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, trying to polish the bull droppings that are her Party’s “articles of impeachment.”  In attempting to explain what these vague, baseless and self-contradictory charges are all about at a press conference Thursday, she performed a remarkable impression of a Word Salad Shooter.

By way of excusing her utter incoherence, she babbled, “I myself am not a lawyer. Sometimes I act like one. Not as often as I act as a doctor. I practice medicine on the side without benefit of diploma, too.”

Just for the record, practicing law or medicine without a license are both criminal acts in all 50 states. Penalties for the former include fines up to $5000 or more, and for the latter, jail terms of one to eight years.

Good thing President Trump didn’t say that, because those are actual crimes.  Say, does this mean Nancy Pelosi just admitted to committing two impeachable offenses?

Bible Verse of the Day (KJV)

"And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."

- Hebrews 10:24-25

If the impeachment vote is fully along party lines, there will be a landslide Republican victory next year with both houses and the presidency held by Republicans. With Trump fulfilling so many campaign promises and the economy surging, congress might vote to return to Pre-WWII law and Trump can have as many terms as he wants. Can't you picture the bumper stickers? TRUMP 2032!

Thanks Mike for your commentaries. I look forward to more of your enlightenment (s). Has the term "foggy bottom" been superceded for some of those DC types?

At first, I was thinking, when is the left (politicians, media, "stars," etc) going to learn to wait for FACTS before shouting out "Trump's fault" or "White supremacy" or--remember "Sarah Palin's fault." Then it dawned on me--they won't wait for facts--they want to scream out baseless lies so that is what people hear first. They aren't going to apologize or retract--just delete tweets without any explanation, and, as with the media or the view--just drop the subject altogether. People listening to only them will not hear any more about the shooting murders, and they won't be tuning into news sources that carry the facts as they come out. Mission accomplished. I wonder how much the people who follow them know about Nick Sandman's lawsuits? Well, maybe they crowed when at first the lawsuit against I think cnn was denied, but, was there any word about when part of it was allowed?

But, move along, nothing to see here. Bet they will not say another word. And, those who maintain the Black Israelites are just innocent people (exercising their first amendment right, you know) who are in no way violent. This isn't the first time their "non-violence" has resulted in injury, but it seems their supporters who are outraged at actual peaceful conservative protesters will continue to maintain these groups are sweet innocent people, and that the conservatives are not, and the conservatives "provoke" groups like this. Just for breathing, by the way.
