In an emotional interview last night with his wife Ashley at his side, Judge Brett Kavanaugh told Fox News’ Martha MacCallum that he strongly denies all the last minute, “totally false and outrageous” charges of sexual impropriety against him, that he will not withdraw from the Supreme Court nomination, and that he has faith in God and the fairness of the American people.

Kavanaugh said he’s already denied these allegations to the Senate under penalty of perjury, adding, "I’ve never sexually assaulted anyone, in high school or otherwise. I am not questioning and have not questioned that perhaps Dr. Ford at some point in her life was sexually assaulted by someone at some place, but what I know is I’ve never sexually assaulted anyone."  Ashley backed him fully, saying, "I know Brett. I've known him for 17 years. He's decent, he's kind, he's good. I know his heart. This is not consistent with Brett."

Kavanaugh said, "All I'm asking for is fairness and that I be heard in this process."  Unfortunately, as we’ve already learned from Hawaii Sen. Mazie Hirono, both of those things no longer apply if you are a man accused of a sex offense.  You’re just supposed to shut up and admit it, even if you’re innocent.  It’s apparently the Democrats' new standard of justice, replacing the old fashioned “rule of law” and “due process” that must be thrown out because they were invented by old, dead, white guys.  Something for all men or any woman who loves any man to remember when voting in November.

Kavanaugh also offered up two defenses that I’d wager the Democrats howling for his head never saw coming:  First, he actually kept a meticulous calendar of his high school and college years and still has it.  It shows that he was away on vacation or busy with other things such as study, sports and church activities during most of the times that his accusers allege he was drunkenly partying.

And he also said that he was a virgin until well after college, and he never had sex with anyone or even close during that time.  That’s something I’m certain his Democratic haters never counted on, because it's so far outside their frame of reference: a religious man openly declaring that he was a virgin until well into adulthood.

The left has spent decades swinging a pickax at the foundations of traditional Christian morality.  They’ve attacked and ridiculed outdated notions such as charity, modesty, sobriety, self-discipline and respect for the Biblical definition of marriage.  They’ve insisted that you can’t stop teenagers from having sex, so you should just give them free condoms.  They’ve driven religious expression off campuses and undermined discipline by parents and teachers until they’re expected to be the kids’ “friends” and let them do whatever they want rather than “stifle” them. They’ve argued that it’s somehow empowering for girls to encourage them to binge-drink and have casual sex like drunken frat boys, and anyone who suggests that might be a bad idea is assailed as a “rape victim shamer.”

Then, having corrupted and demoralized youth culture, they seek to pull a 180 and destroy a Republican SCOTUS nominee by suddenly turning into Puritans and accusing him of the same behavior in school that they encouraged and fostered for decades – only to discover that thanks to his strong religious faith, he didn’t fall for their siren song and isn’t ashamed to admit it.  It must be shocking for them to comprehend that they weren’t able to corrupt the one person they have worked so hard to attack for being corrupted.

I am praying for Judge Kavanaugh and his family. I hope that he is able to stand firm against these lies and slander. I pray that the weakling Republicans will confirm him in spite of this circus the Democrats have created. This is our last chance, I'm afraid. They have got to be stopped. I hope they realize that what goes around comes around and they can be just as destroyed as Judge Kavanaugh. I believe in the principle of innocent until proven guilty. What they are doing to Judge Kavanaugh is evil. It occurred to me that maybe the women believe if they destroy enough men candidates, the party will have no choice but to run more women candidates because nobody can accuse them of anything or they will be called sexist and a liar no matter what they say. Looks like their plans are working.

Please correct me if I am wrong. The Senate Judicial committee's actions on an unsubstantiated accusation could open the doors to all sorts of unsubstantiated accusations of anyone at anytime, especially reelection time. This allows anyone to stand up and say whatever lie that they choose and they do not have to provide any proof or details of the events. I was traumatized as a child being awoken by a stranger trying to pull me out of my bed when I was sleeping at my grandmother's house. I was in the third grade, that was 36 years ago. I remember every detail and event from that night. I have spent years dealing with its memory. I will never believe that this women's story is true for the sheer fact that she does not know any of the details from the event, only that it happened.

Innocent men should boldly defend themselves, as hard as that might be, and refuse to slink away in shame of something they did not do. Honest women should help them. Until wrongly accused men start holding accusers feet to the fire, as Judge Kavanaugh is bravely trying to do, this problem will only get worse.

I always appreciate Governor Huckabee's insight, and actually enjoy reading the comments on his website as most are very thoughtful posts. Regarding Martha MacCallum's interview with Judge and Mrs. Kavanaugh, I thought that she was being a good journalist in demonstrating no partiality. The questions were very, very probative and it was indeed heartbreaking to see the pain that all of this was causing. I did not like that following the interview that Martha and other Fox News hosts continued to comment that Judge Kavanaugh did not present himself as having the fire to defend himself that Justice Thomas had when he was under attack and addressed the Judiciary Committee. There is a committee hearing coming up, and MacCallum's interview was not it. Anything that Judge Kavanaugh stated, or inferred, as well as his demeanor, and even his non-verbal communication is going to be studied, analyzed, dissected, and used against him in every possible way. The interview gave him an important opportunity to speak to the people so that the people that will not be watching CSPAN, that will not be privy to closed hearings, can hear and see for themselves the man and what he has to say about the accusations. He spoke in a manner that was consistent with the evidence of his exceptional qualifications for Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court. He did not judge Dr. Ford, he was humble, he was consistent, he was respectful. I agree with so many that the strong opposition to Judge Kavanaugh's nomination and no-holds-barred tactics to prevent his confirmation are primarily about the issue of abortion. Mankind was first engaged in this battle of good and evil in the garden of Eden, and the tactics of the enemy are still the same. We wrestle not against flesh and blood...Pray and please go on-line to https://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm and email your senators and as many other senators as you have the will to contact. If justice is blind, then all but the evidence must be set aside in the decision to confirm Judge Kavanaugh. All evidence supports that Judge Kavanaugh is exceptionally well-qualified, a person of impeccable character, and that he should therefore be unanimously confirmed for a seat on the U.S. Supreme Court. You may also consider sending a nice note or card to Judge Kavanaugh c/o the U.S. Court of Appeals, D.C. Circuit at: 333 Constitution Ave., NW Washington, DC 20001. I am certain that a card campaign to express encouragement and support would be very much appreciated.

Thank you Mr. Huckabee for a great analysis. My husband and I agree with your article. Our hearts go out to the Kavanaugh family. I have a brother who is the same age as Brett and it horrifies me to think that the democrats are doing this to good people. Take care. Keep up the good work.

I just hurt for this sweet man and his family. By simply accepting a nomination to our Supreme Court of the United States, he has been subjected to pain that should not be inflicted upon another human being- All for the sake of politics. I am praying that God will show up big time in his life and put an end to this nonsense. 1 Peter3:16. Having a good conscience, that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ. May God be with this precious family at this time and wrap His arms around them.

Regardless of a person's political persuasion, what is happening to Judge Kavanaugh endangers our rights as citizens. Our elected officials, who make the laws we the people have to live by, our violating a most important right we live by, you are innocent until proven guilty.

It is nauseating and frieghtening to listen to senators who are saying Kavanaugh has no rights as he is guilty.

    GOD HELP US!

My belief is that this whole accusatory story was orchestrated by the democrats, and One little detail that they didn't take into consideration blew it wide open. Their intention was to delay the vote. But, alas, they thought if they waited until the last minute, they could accomplish this , but they were counting on it being turned over to the FBI for investigation. When that didn't happen, it complicated their plan. So as they always do, they just throw things against the wall, hoping it will stick. How in the world can Judge Kavanaugh protect himself against an accuser who can't remember when or where this "party" happened. And cannot find one person to back up her story. And, since not everyone has believed this story, they dig up another accuser. So this has NO details. In fact, she is not eve sure that what she has reported has really happened. Or, if it did, whether it was the Judge or not. Actually, I believe that she will be a "No Show" on Thursday, and of course that won't be her fault but the fault of those who will not give her all the rules she has asked for. If she doesn't show on Thursday, they should take the vote immediately. How much garbage can people take in and still feel that this whole drama is anything other than fiction.

I believe that the escalating wickedness and attacks from the enemy are a trial and test for the people of God. How serious are we about praying for a nation that is under deep deception and attack? How much do we care about our crumbling democracy, our religious freedom? If our concern is in word only, we are in deeper trouble and perhaps, asleep when we need to be alert and on guard. In Mark 9, the disciples were not able to cast out a demon in a young boy. Jesus spoke and the boy was healed. When the disciples asked why they were unable to...Jesus told them “this kind required prayer and fasting.” I believe the church is being called out to repent over their own sins and then to pray for our nation as never before...perhaps, “prayer and fasting” are required.

Once again, Mike Huckabee nails it. Even the lying Democrats know Judge Kavannaugh will be sitting on the Supreme Court next month.

This article is spot on. The presumption of guilt mindset of so many on the left is frightening, not to mention disheartening. If only this interview was required viewing because so any others would see as I did that Judge Kavanaugh is a man of integrity and a man of God. He answered the questions completely and honestly. The anguish of this situation was evident on the faces of Judge Kavanaugh and his wife, Ashley...the last 2 weeks have been a roller coaster ride for both. My heart breaks for them and they have my full support.

I agree wholeheartedly! I have 2 sons in their 30s and they are the best of the best. One son is an elementary school teacher, and I worry what could be ahead of him in this corrupted world. We keep praying for an awakening towards God's principles and love.

My heart skipped a beat when I read he was still a virgin into well into adulthood. I am so for this man being our next supreme court judge! Just being bold enough to say he was a virgin has earned my respect for him even that much more. We have to succeed in this one, no ifs ands or buts.

Your article is spot-on Mike and I appreciate reading it and wish that I would have followed some of the precepts that judge Kavanaugh has done in his life from an early age till now. What a strong beautiful man who is committed to our God, our constitution, and what is good our way of life and the American dream! I pray and Hope that the Republicans will support judge Kavanaugh as well as the Democrats who are more moderate in their beliefs.
