The YouTube Shooter

April 4, 2018

Yesterday, in a bizarre and tragic incident at YouTube headquarters in San Bruno, California, a shooter injured three people before committing suicide. And while what happened was strange and unpredictable, the reaction was as predictable as a show we’ve seen in reruns a hundred times.

President Trump, not yet having any details of what happened, simply tweeted that our thoughts and prayers were with the victims. Liberals immediately rushed to judgement and didn’t merely say that prayers were not enough but denigrated the entire concept and politicized the tragedy – no longer even bothering to try to finesse their exploitation of a tragedy but openly using the actual words, “politicize it.”

One prominent celebrity tweeter, using predictably profane language, predictably blamed the NRA and predictably called that group a “terrorist organization” (predictably, the shooter was not an NRA member.) He added that it didn’t matter who the shooter was, or that the shooter wasn’t an NRA member, it’s still their fault and we need to repeal the Second Amendment. So we can add “logic” to the list of fatalities, as well. (Warning: some pretty foul language at this link.)

As more details emerged, we learned that, in fact, the shooter was not an NRA member, and certainly not the cliché image of a white, male, Southern, rightwing “gun nut.” The shooter was Nasim Aghdam, a young woman of Middle Eastern extraction who wore a head scarf and had made a number of odd YouTube videos promoting her liberal passions, which included animal rights activism, veganism and environmentalism. Her father had reported her missing and warned she might be going to YouTube’s HQ because she “hated” the company after its recent policy changes demonetized her videos and severely lowered her web traffic.

Now, back to the predictable parts of the story: Police found and questioned her, decided everything was “under control,” and let her go. Hours later, she was dead from a self-inflicted wound after police showed up with guns. Her father said he had no idea she had a gun or where she got it. But somehow, she obtained it in a state with some of the strictest gun laws in the US.

Finally, one post-script to this sad story that’s the most predictable part of all: while the people getting the most media coverage were, of course, those blaming the NRA and demanding that all law-abiding people who had nothing to do with it be disarmed, one man who was at YouTube when the bullets actually started flying had this to say:

“I didn't have a gun on me, but I wish I did.” That's the thought people predictably have when it's too late to do any good.

I now offer two predictions of my own: YouTube will be flooded with videos demanding gun confiscation and repeal of the Second Amendment…and YouTube’s executives will hire more armed guards to protect themselves.

I am appalled at the people trying to change the Constitution, especially the 10 Amendments, that we specifically placed to placate several states that otherwise would not agree to this powerful Constitution. Other than an outright Holy Ghost revival, how do we cut down on these mass murders? I keep hearing the negative from both sides, how do we fix it?

It's a misguided world when someone gets censored by the likes of YouTube then goes and shoots up the place. I've seen in recent weeks a number of Gun related channels being locked and pulled down by YouTube. What I don't see is the producers if the videos going and shooting up the place. They just turn their cheek and find another site to host their Channel with censorship. Unfortunately for now they have taken it to a site I won't visit due to moral values.

The one thing that interest me is how the media has moved this to a secondary story and not the top one. It happened almost immediately after they found out the background of the shooter.

What is happening in our country is right out of the Communist Party playbook. Nikita Kruschev said "We will bury you without firing a shot." Uprisings were used and violence was the order of the day from the likes of Marx, Engles Lenin, and Nietzhe. When you add the radical Islam element and the fact that God is not allowed in schools, government and sometimes even in churches, what do you expect is going to happen. Children are given more rights than parents. Respect for others has been replaced by the "new" tolerance. My rights are more important than yours. Outside influences from people who hate our country, our way of life, and "intellectual" thinkers are affecting us in a big way. Technology is useful but we are now bowing at the alter of technology not realizing how it is being a major factor in dumbing down people. Our TV programs, Movies, Literature are all being used as propaganda to make anyone who disagrees or has a different set of ideas to be marginalized. We need God in America again.

This nation must have a villian and of course it was not the poor innocent misunderstood shooter who pulled the trigger. It was the NRA what a country! Have we lost our minds? Answer yes! We are so busy screaming and yelling about one thing when it is something else that is the problem. We have lost common sense and the truth in all of the noise.

All of the shootings are certainly tragic and It is very disappointing that people guns to do their twisted acts. I have not heard anyone talk about how many school age children have been killed by alcohol abuse or texting since Columbine. I do not believe the second amendment should be repealed. It would next to impossible to gather all the firearms in the U.S.

First of all, the attacks on President Trump for expressing that his thoughts and prayers were with the victims are totally unjustified. More importantly, the media will gloss over the fact that the shooter was a Muslim, and female at that. Because she felt grieviously injured by Youtube, she chose to launch a Jihad against the company. I personally don't believe that she was mentally ill, but rather was seeking revenge for Youtube's actions which demonetized her postings.
Love your new show and if you would like to have an interesting guest who could explain the mindset behind an event such as this, invite Georges Sada (former Christian General under Saddam Hussein) on your program. He has been to my home and he wrote a fabulous book (Saddam's Secrets) about his narrow escape from death in Iraq and his heroic efforts which saved the lives of 40 Coalition pilots.

Why so little information about this woman. Yes, Persian background, reportedly IRAN. Listening to her speak, she is NOT just of Persian background, English is definitely NOT her "first language". So, when and how did she immigrate to the U.S.? How long has she been in the U.S.? Is she a illegal immigrant?

Once again the people responsible to support us, DID NOT, likely are not capable of doing so. Police had her in custody just hours before she shot 3 and killed herself. GREAT JOB law enforcement! If you wait for the police to protect you, they will be marking the scene with "crime scene" tape and wrapping you in a body bag - even when they've been WARNED and had the suspect in custody, hours earlier.

By all means, let's eliminate the ability of U.S. citizens to protect themselves! That'll fix the problem!

The police had to see some unusualness in her situation. Did they not have access to the YOUTube or the internet. Could they have contacted YouTube to see if the family was correct and there was a possibility of hatred and violence. Where was the gun when they "talked" with her while she was sleeping in her car in a strange neighborhood far from home? They were to WATCH her and did they? Is this the way the police work in Florida and CA?

We all know how the Liberal Wackos are ALWAYS attacking whatever Trump DOES!

Well, I think it would be interesting to perform a simple experiment:

    Have Trump issue a TWEET(s)...

    1. I have Expert proof that the moon is made of various types cheese!
I intend to investigate this more as part of our Space program.

After doing that, it would be interesting to see how the Liberal Wackos relate to it and HOW they go to prove that it is NOT made of cheese!

    2. I have Expert proof that the moon is NOT made of cheese...
providing even more cause to investigate within our Space program.

How would the Liberal Wackos react to that one? Would they turn it into a massive campaign to Prove that the moon WAS made of cheese?!

Either way, it would provide 100% proof of just how WACKO and lame-brained they really are... It might be enough to change a few minds resulting in a larger Republican party! (I can dream can't I?)

I'd like to see something, like this, be done... Might be very funny too! :)

It is a sad testimony to the intelligence of the media, Hollywood, and indoctrinated school children who blame the tool for the damage. We don't ban iPhones or automobiles because many young people get killed in auto accidents while texting. No one wants to close nightclubs or ban the sale of alcohol drinks because a drunk runs his automobile into a bus load children. I don't think OSHA calls for eliminating power saws because a carpenter accidentally cuts his finger off.

AND to blame an organization like NRA that exists to promote gun safety and self defense shows the ignorance of these people. They will listen to the loud mouths paid by communist/liberals to spout venom about the NRA but no one who can explain what the NRA is. It is a lack of debate much like racism. When logic fails, resort to racism or guns or the NRA.

It is absolutely unfathomably ridiculous for people with common sense to swallow the indoctrination of communist/liberals who want nothing more than to use tragedies involving school children or anyone else to promote their takeover of our country. When those communist wannabe imperialists finally achieve their goal, many of these brainwashed liberals and young people will wake up but it will be too late.

Thanks, Governor, for bringing the voice of reason to this tragedy. If the police would have drawn a line between san Diego and San Bruno, her Mountain View questioning by police was about 15 miles short of YouTube headquarters. She was missing and obviously on a path directly toward her target. Sometimes a logical conclusion can be drawn. With all of our computer storage and retrieval, why isn't there a list of people who have expressed a high level of dissatisfaction with people, entities or policies that all law enforcement can access. Why isn't there an algorithm for this? There is for everything under the sun, including our political preferences.
    You could Google it!

The left has the right under the first amendment to voice their opinions even if they are idiotic. What they don't seem to understand is the freedoms guaranteed under the first amendment are guaranteed and protected by the second amendment. Eliminate the second amendment and the first amendment is automatically cancelled also. Of course, the globalist elites know this, but their stooges that run around screaming "Repeal the second amendment!" do not. Of course, when the second amendment goes, all freedom goes with it, which is the globalist goal. That's why they are the 1st and 2nd amendments because they are the most important.

Why is it that the liberal left wants to take away guns after a few shootings but not cars or knives when they're used as the weapon of choice? Doesn't fit their agenda. The thing that scares me most about the idea of taking away guns (repealing the 2nd amendment) is doesn't that put other amendments in jeopardy as well when they stand in the way of their agenda? Like, say, religious freedom guaranteed by the 1st?

We are fully aware that the looney left liberals open agenda is to get the power that a disarmed public would give them! They are blind to the real causes of this kind of violence so there is no real hope of them having any real solutions! A great deal of the blame for this is our broken mass media system! As long as these crazy ideas against our Republic are broadcast so widely in the media, this anti-American rhetoric will dominate the news! It’s kind of depressing for real people to be bombarded with this. It’s time to have a platform where real ideas can be discussed with civility to help this society get a handle on and stop this violence or at least understand it for what it is. It is Not the NRA’s fault for any of this and disarming Law-abiding citizens will not stop it!
Lord, please help us to talk some common sense to this mad sinful world. Please help us to get this country back to its ideals and leave us not to our own reprobate mind and our own worthless works!

Another event that focuses the crazies on the left against gun control. The family warning the police their daughter is a Nutcase and is going to shoot someone does no good. We are a country of laws that says, unless you do something, the police will not lock you up.
It appears that the media, has that old Soviet mentality that accusation is enough to have you arrested and sent to Siberia.

BECAUSE I am licensed to carry, when I do, people around me, regardless of their leanings on gun control, are measurably safer. So, if we ever get into one of those nasty situations, should I ask the anti-gunners if they want to be protected or should I just go ahead and protect us all. I think I know the answer to that. When will the anti-gunners wake up and realize that the kooks don't even think about the law when they choose to go on a rampage. Therefore no law, new or old, will make any difference if one of these miscreants chooses to go on a "mission". Everyone needs a good guy with a gun around. What the anti gunners don't fully understand is that there are millions of us around. They are lucky we care.

Bill, Love your show on TBN and your daughter is doing an amazing job in DC. I think since people blame the guns for everything they need to be commending the one from the YouTube Shooting. Because this firearm while being forced to do things against it's will was able to not kill anyone that was innocent yesterday and it was able to stop the shooter all before police arrived. I know it sounds stupid but if the left can blame an inanimate object for crimes committed, we might as well be able to thank it as well. Have a fantastic week and God Bless.

Not a word mentioned about the shooter likely having mental issues or the possibility of a muslim connection (perhaps her mosque provided her the weapons?) Her family reported her "missing" claiming she was likely planning "something" and the police later found her and notified the family of that fact. What this "something" in the works was is not clear and since she was an adult and reported only as missing, all the police were legally obligated to do was notify her family that she'd been located, which they did and then her "missing" status would be changed to "found". What the family did once they were informed of her whereabouts was not mentioned...

    Mike,
Some great comments today as everyday. I just thought you might want to read what Jim Denison wrote in his forum a couple of days ago:

We know this to be true because of Easter Monday.

    “A European revival has started”

"Easter Monday is an official holiday in 115 countries around the world. In Guyana, people are flying kites they made last Saturday. In Italy, they are having picnics in the countryside.
Most Easter Monday celebrations are secular holidays with little or no reference to the resurrection of Jesus.

However, the reality is that every day is Easter. The Christ who rose from the grave never returned to it. He is just as risen today as he was on the first Monday after the first Easter Sunday.

And his Spirit is just as active today as he was then.

Nearly two million people watched Billy Graham’s memorial service livestreamed on Facebook. In the last month, more than 1.2 million people have visited BillyGrahamMemorial.org. Some 10,500 have indicated that they chose to become Christians or to renew lapsed faith.

The Federalist has just published an exciting report on spiritual awakening in Europe. Examples: a recent revival event in France reported more than five hundred conversions. Last summer’s Awakening Europe saw more than a thousand people in Prague declare new faith in Christ.

Massive public Christian events such as Holy Spirit nights in Stuttgart and Munich, Germany, attract thousands of Christians and interested non-believers. A 24/7 prayer movement is drawing thousands into continuous services for worship and intercession."

At least there is a little hope of change in Europe, maybe it will spill over into the USA.

    David

Can the "gun grabbers" explain why the City of London, England has a higher Murder Rate than NYC even though London has a STRICTER GUN LAWS THAN New York City. London's Prevalent CRIME IS MORE KNIFE MURDERS THAN GUNS over six times more. So what does the gun grabbers think of that statistic, and that more guns were sold in this country in the month of this past March? Naturally, as ALWAYS they NEVER HAVE ANY FACTS IN DETERMINING EVIDENCE AGAINST AN ISSUE, ONLY FABRICATED LIES WHICH HAVE BEEN REGURGITATED OVER AND OVER.

You are right about the reaction, but it won't be like a school shooting. Besides, the weapon of choice was a pistol - not the "dreaded" AR-15 Assault Rifle! The media will let this one slide under the radar because it doesn't fit the proper narrative of a deranged teenager or a "Right Wing Nut" from the South using an assault weapon. Had her weapon of choice been the AR-15, I can just envision the uproar!
