Correction And An Apology

June 9, 2020 |

Correction And An Apology: Over the weekend, I was asked to comment on a report that three prominent Republicans announced they would vote for Joe Biden. They were Colin Powell (who reportedly hasn’t voted Republican in over a decade), Mitt Romney (what a surprise!) and former President George W. Bush. I said they should all “Get over it.” If they don’t like Trump’s personal style, fine; sometimes I don’t either. But he’s been great at cutting taxes and regulations, strengthening the military, putting America first, fixing the economy, creating jobs for all Americans, enforcing immigration laws, renegotiating trade deals in our favor for a change, appointing conservative judges, defending Israel and religious freedom, and standing up for the sanctity of life. Any vote for any modern Democrat is a vote for the exact opposite of all of that.

However, since this story was all over every media outlet (of course it was; it’s catnip to the anti-Trump crowd), I didn’t think to question whether it was entirely true. Turns out, part of it is fake news:

President Bush’s spokesman says that as a former President, he never reveals who he is voting for, and the claim that he’s not supporting Trump was “completely made up.” Had I known that it originated with the New York Times, I would have been far more skeptical. As I noted yesterday, the Times’ credibility as a news source is now on a par with that of old issues of High Times magazine, whose reporters at least had the excuse of being stoned out of their minds.

My apologies to ex-President Bush for not asking, “Wait a minute, did this come from the New York Times?” before believing it.

Our President Trump is truly a gift from God. The left is in panic mode.Only 4months to go.No other President delivered on all their promises, while one catastrophic event followed by the next for 4years!! The left doesn't have our prayers, nor the love of our Father God.The left will have to answer for all the extreme hate ,the murder of 60000000 babies. They will have to answer for all the crimes against humanity ,which hasn't been televised yet! They will have to answer for the racism and riots etc.I thank God for giving us a great world leader!

I think America better wake up and take control before it's too late.

His spokesperson merely expressed the fact that former President Bush does not reveal how he votes. The spokesman did not deny that the former President does not support President Trump. Let's get real here!! An announcement today told us that several high ranking Republicans have formed a PAC to support Former Vice President Biden. What a wonderful party we claim. I am refusing to support anyone other than the candidate direct.

Sir, your apology is certainly accepted. It is VERY difficult to know what is true and what is not. We live in a demon possessed world and it's not fun. I totally support President Trump, as you do. I think he has done more in one term than all of the presidents combined in my lifetime...and I am 71.
The one thing I wish our president would alter is the very stupid way social security receivers get increases! It is tied to the sale of houses not the cost of living!! Why??? Us older folks are not moving around, selling and buying...we are trying to buy groceries and pay our medical bills! In the past 15 years, I believe we have received about 1/10th of the actual cost of living. During the 2008 debacle we received nothing because the housing market went down - while groceries were climbing! Please pass that on. I know he can fix that!

There's a lot of soft headed people that believe everything they write !and then the media net works run with it ! CNN MSNBC ABC CBS they are complicit because they know its a lie ,but they went with it anyway !

Just wanted to thank you for standing up against Romney and Powell. Colin Powell seems to base his political decisions on the same factual integrity and basis as he did for the Iraq was. I scanned what he and General Mathis said and found nothing substantive in what they had to say. Anyway, it is great to have a clear voice for what is really true and happening in our world. Keep it up

George Bush is a friend of Hillary, Bill , Barack Obama and such, he is part of the Elite , he is also a RINO, he don't like Donald Trump, nobody in his family like Donald Trump, because he estoled the thunder from the feet of his brother Jeff. He never voted for Donald Trump and he never will, the relevance or importance of that is not necessary, and does not matter.

Just another comment from fake News or New York Times. They all need fact checked and fined everytime they file such lies. If they have to pay out of their pocket maybe it would stop some of this.

I'm so proud of George Bush in keeping his right to vote private. He is retired from presidential politics. His demeanor and showing grace as a former President of the United States is admirable and should present itself as a role model of other former Presidents. He had his 8 years under the heat of the spotlight and now as a former President, he continues to lead by example. Go George Bush!!!
