DAILY BIBLE VERSE

This verse was recommended by Leslie J.

23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord,

And He delights in his way.

24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down;

For the Lord upholds him with His hand.

Psalm 37:23-24 NKJV

THE LATEST NEWS

1. A FOLLOW-UP: HOW TO HELP JANUARY 6 POLITICAL PRISONERS:

As promised, here’s a follow-up on what to do in response to the egregious civil rights violations of the January 6 political prisoners.

Louis Gohmert of Texas, who along with fellow member of Congress Marjorie Taylor Greene finally got to see the facility where J6 prisoners are confined, has a fine opinion piece on his website, reprinted from The Epoch Times. It dates from November 4, the day they and their congressional staffs took “the tour” and spent an hour speaking personally with these prisoners.

https://gohmert.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=399970

This piece shames the government for ignoring their repeated requests and “refusing to allow oversight of their actions, which gives every appearance of a cover-up of wrongdoing.”

“Should ideology and abuse of power continue to drive this administration’s actions,” it continues, “the Rule of Law will cease to exist...By its [lack of transparency], the Biden administration is shredding the foundations of our legal system and the rights of the people’s representatives to protect them from government abuse.”

Gohmert agrees that at least some of the people being treated this way are essentially political prisoners. And if we allow it and let this nation finish its transformation into a banana republic, there will be nowhere else for liberty-loving Americans to turn.

According to an opinion piece in the Washington Times by criminal prosecutor and former U.S. Congressman Robert L. Livingston, almost 700 people in and near the Capitol that day were arrested and charged. Eventually, most of these were released or “had their cases disposed of in varying ways.” (I would add that some of them, even though they’re no longer behind bars, are currently under house arrest and have yet to go to court.) Reps. Greene and Gohmert met with about 40 who are still languishing in a dismal Washington DC corrections facility.

https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2021/nov/10/jan-6th-detainees-must-receive-due-process/

Livingston is “shocked” to hear of “prospective defendants who have been arrested and deprived of their livelihoods; confined in solitary confinement with little or no reasonable access to the outside world, their families or adequate legal counsel; and denied formal charges levied against them without bail and in contravention to the right to a speedy trial.” He said that he spoke with an employee at the federal Public Defender’s Office and learned “that they were not representing any of these folks.”

So-called “civil rights defenders” such as the ACLU are nowhere to be found. “Most of these people are at worst guilty of trespass or destruction of government property,” Livingston said. But for crying out loud, charge them, arraign them, and bring them to trial with counsel of their choice.”

“This atrocity must stop, and it must stop soon.”

We also came across a story from October 28 that reprints a letter from one of the detainees, Nathaniel DeGrave, who found himself in prison after apparently walking into the Capitol Building through open doors. His plea for help paints an especially bleak picture of the lives of these political prisoners in what he calls “DC’s Gitmo.”

https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2021/10/gut-wrenching-plea-help-january-6th-detainees-tell-letter-american-public-dc-gitmo-please-help-innocent-man/

To stay informed with the best reporting on January 6 --- particularly the emerging evidence suggesting the FBI was making sure there WAS an “insurrection” –- we recommend keeping up with the stories in National File. Here’s the latest.

https://nationalfile.com/exclusive-feds-withheld-exculpatory-evidence-charging-accused-1-6-protesters/

The current administration would like us to forget about these people, except as a cautionary tale of what can happen to those who step out of line. But we won’t.

We can send cards and letters to the detainees, letting them know they’re not forgotten, especially over the Christmas season when they'll be separated from their families (again). We can donate to defense funds and “adopt” families. We can send messages to our legislators, especially the ones who’ve already stepped up, including Greene, Gohmert, Matt Gaetz, Paul Gosar, and Bob Good. Most importantly, as we move into the 2022 campaign season and look ahead to 2024, we can actively campaign to defeat Democrats and support those who want to clean house at the DOJ. This clean-out MUST happen, as you'll see if you go to the FBI website and discover there's nothing about, say, Antifa, but an obsession with January 6:

https://www.fbi.gov

Be concerned about down-ballot races, too, and work to defeat those local candidates who want to defund police, release violent prisoners without bail, and weaponize law enforcement against so-called "domestic terrorists" (Trump supporters). Some of them are funded by groups such as Justice Democrats (who brought us AOC) and George Soros’ Open Society Foundation.

The Capitol Building should have been secure that day, with clearly-set boundaries that protesters should have respected. But, ultimately, it is the current administration and the Department of “Justice” that is responsible for the travesty of justice we see today. Under President Biden and Attorney General Merrick Garland, we have as disgustingly politicized a DOJ as there has ever been. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi makes it three of a kind. This coming year, we all have to work harder than we ever have to elect people who respect a uniform standard of justice, even for political adversaries.

2. PRAY FOR THE VICTIMS AND THEIR FAMILIES:

I hope you will join me in praying for the victims of two dozen deadly tornadoes that struck Arkansas, Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri and Tennessee last night.

https://www.foxnews.com/us/arkansas-tornado-damage-monette-manor-nursing-home-tennessee-illinois

The worst devastation was in Kentucky where as many as 100 people may be dead, but the tornados also collapsed roofs on a nursing home in Monette, Arkansas, leaving five people injured and at least two dead; and on an Amazon warehouse in Edwardsville, Illinois, where at this writing, two people are known dead, but that number might climb as emergency rescue efforts continue. There were believed to be 50 to 100 workers inside the warehouse.

I hope that all of you and your families are safe, and as we pray for the victims, please consider a donation to Samaritan’s Purse, which will be among the first on the scene to offer aid to those in need.

4. BOB DOLE'S MEMORIAL SERVICE:

Friday, many top political officials gathered at Washington National Cathedral for the memorial service for the late Senator, Presidential candidate and war hero, Bob Dole.

https://www.westernjournal.com/bob-dole-planned-mischievous-surprise-dems-memorial-cameras-rolling-caught/

Dole was known for his wit, and he couldn’t resist sneaking in just one last zinger to his Democrat colleagues about voter integrity. His daughter read this, from his farewell letter to Americans:

“As I make the final walk on my life’s journey, I do so without fear. Because I know that I will, again, not be walking alone. I know that God will be walking with me. I also confess that I’m a bit curious to learn if I am correct in thinking that Heaven will look a lot like Kansas and to see, like others who have gone before me, if I will still be able to vote in Chicago.”

The laughter from Democrats was described as “nervous.” Good.

Read the rest of the article, too. It includes a wonderful lesson that Sen. Dole imparted to his daughter about helping others, and video of Tom Hanks honoring Dole at the World War II Memorial, which he said was built over two Administrations, “but it was Bob Dole who willed this memorial into place.”

5. NOTHING IS SACRED TO THE MEDIA:

Of course, to our disgraceful media, nothing is too sacred or bipartisan to resist turning into a political attack. So some commentators ignored the point of honoring Sen. Dole and ripped into (fully vaccinated) Sen. Ted Cruz for not wearing a mask.

https://redstate.com/sister-toldjah/2021/12/10/reporter-gets-factual-update-after-trying-to-mask-shame-ted-cruz-during-bob-doles-funeral-n489549

For the record, the mask mandate in DC ended nearly three weeks ago. And several top Democrats, including President Biden, have recently been caught in public without masks on. Maybe the commentators should consider putting something over their mouths and keeping it there until they learn to think before they speak.

6. "JUST ONE MORE THING, SIR..."

Former Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson revealed the clue that first aroused suspicions that Jussie Smollett was lying: his Subway sandwich.

https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/jussie-smollett-subway-sandwich-chicago-police-superintendent

Smollett claimed he’d left his home at 2 a.m. during a sub-freezing polar vortex to buy a Subway sandwich. He was then accosted by two racists who beat him, threw bleach on him and tied a noose around his neck. But when the cops arrived to interview him, "This guy had the sandwich in his hand, never been touched.” Johnson said, “That doesn’t happen,” and it was a real clue “that something was amiss."

Also, Johnson, who is black, thought Smollett was awfully nonchalant about walking around with the noose still around his neck. Johnson said there aren’t many black people who wouldn’t immediately take that off.

Maybe he should’ve claimed that both the noose and the sandwich were still frozen to him. That might’ve been more believable.

7. WHAT HAPPENED TO "THE BUCK STOPS HERE?":

Harry Truman was a Democratic President who famously said of his presidential desk, “The buck stops here.” Meaning that it was a President’s job to step up and not try to shift blame or responsibility to someone else.

Oh, how things have changed! For our current Administration, the buck always gets passed to the same person. Every time Biden messes up, he passes the buck to Donald Trump (no wonder he’s a billionaire!) Biden can’t even take responsibility for his own words without trying to point his finger at Trump.

Friday, in light of the conviction of actor Jussie Smollett for concocting a hoax racial attack and trying to blame it on Trump supporters, Biden spokeswoman Jen Psaki was asked if he would retract his initial comments supporting Smollett. She replied, “I think there are lessons learned perhaps for everybody who commented at the time, including former President Trump.”

https://www.westernjournal.com/biden-white-house-responds-jussie-smollett-conviction-pointing-fingers-trump/

However, this was one time when Trump was actually cautious with his words. He said of the alleged attack, “I can tell you that it’s horrible. It doesn’t get worse,” but he didn’t leap to conclusions, buy into Smollett’s defamatory narrative, and imply that Trump supporters were violent racists and homophobes, the way Biden, VP Harris and so many other prominent Democrats did.

https://twitter.com/bariweiss/status/1469129111327051777

Biden is proving that unlike Truman, he is quick to leap to conclusions and accuse others before he knows the facts, but he never accepts responsibility for things that he actually did himself. Whatever it is, it’s always Trump’s fault. With Biden, the buck never arrives. And even if it did, thanks to inflation, one of Truman’s 1950 bucks would only be worth nine cents.

7. I JUST WANTED TO SAY:

Thank you for reading today's newsletter.

IT CAME UPON A MIDNIGHT CLEAR

Today's Christmas carol is recommended by many readers.

LISTEN: https://youtu.be/pv5NMG1KYEA

1 It came upon the midnight clear,

that glorious song of old,

from angels bending near the earth

to touch their harps of gold:

"Peace on the earth, good will to men,

from heaven's all-gracious King."

The world in solemn stillness lay,

to hear the angels sing.

---

2 Still through the cloven skies they come

with peaceful wings unfurled,

and still their heavenly music floats

o'er all the weary world;

above its sad and lowly plains,

they bend on hovering wing,

and ever o'er its Babel sounds

the blessed angels sing.

---

3 And ye, beneath life's crushing load,

whose forms are bending low,

who toil along the climbing way

with painful steps and slow,

look now! for glad and golden hours

come swiftly on the wing.

O rest beside the weary road,

and hear the angels sing!

---

4 For lo! the days are hastening on,

by prophet seen of old,

when with the ever-circling years

shall come the time foretold

when peace shall over all the earth

its ancient splendors fling,

and the whole world send back the song

which now the angels sing.

How can we get names and addresses of people being detained in Washington for January 6? And support a family? Really would like them to know we are praying for them.

"We can send cards and letters to the detainees, letting them know they’re not forgotten, especially over the Christmas season when they'll be separated from their families (again)."

Yeah - and when the New Gestapo (FBI) gets a hold of our names and addresses I'm sure none of us will be persecuted in the style of the East Berlin Stasi for having the unmitigated gall to write a letter to one of the "Untermensch" that the Gestapo are holding as political prisoners. Not that this would stop me from writing a letter, mind - but will there be any support forthcoming for we "citizens" who lose their jobs, get "doxxed," or have their property mysteriously destroyed or stolen following this verboten action?

Do any of you really think that this country will be able to VOTE its way out of the present system of totalitarianism? Do you REALLY think the CIA, FBI and their ilk are magically going to follow the law if some Republican-led Congress tells them to? do you REALLY THINK that the MSM or Big Tech will stop acting like Pravda, just because "this law" or "that fine" is passed? I might believe it if every GOP representative in the nation, from the Mayors and Governors offices down to the city dog catcher, were emulating their inner DeSantis. They are not. And I find that even more disgusting and unforgivable than the Marxism of Pelosi and her ilk.

"What a tangled we we weave when first we plan to deceive" I believe that was said by Shakespeare. The left is doing a lot of weaving I see. Having dealt with many cultists in and out if the Church it dawned on me that the left is now a Marxist/ Islamic cult. They have ripped to shreds the Rule of Law! It is up to God and His people doing what is necessary to stop this Satanic attack on America!

The treatment of the Jan. 6 detainees is terrible. One would think that we are living in Russia or China. Where is the ACLU? There must be some way to get them at least brought to trial rather than languishing in jail cells that sound absolutely horrible. Shame on the Biden administration and their DOJ for this.

Biden is taking credit for gas pricing going down a few cents. Didn't Trump put that gas. when prices were down because of his policy, he is taking credit for removing it???? His policy is what is killing us!!! Can you address this?

    Mike
Even though I don't have a lot of respect for them is there no way we can appeal to the UN Human Rights or the International Criminal Court on behalf of the Jan 6 Political Prisoners?
The publicity would be enough for the jelly spinned DNC hypocrites.
