A bill has been introduced in Congress that would finally fund the building of a wall on the US-Mexican border. And where would be the funding come from? That’s the part that will result in squeals, either of glee or outrage, depending on your viewpoint. The wall would be built with federal funds cut off from sanctuary cities.
That’s such a great plot twist, they should call this the “O. Henry Bill.”
A lawyer running for D.A. in Contra Costa County, California, infuriated police unions by saying that someone who kills a single police officer shouldn’t get the death penalty because being murdered is a risk that officers take on as part of the job. You know, like becoming a soulless monster is just one of the risks that comes with being a lawyer.
Well, it looks as if the dancing Nazis in Broadway’s “The Producers” aren’t the only fascists in the Big Apple these days.
Following a year of frustrating efforts including a complaint to the Washington Attorney General, a Seattle man has finally forced Hillary Clinton’s PAC “Onward Together” to cancel his monthly donation of just over $10 he pledged over a year ago. It seems that their website had a way to sign up to donate money, but no way to stop, which should have been a warning in itself, both to donors and to voters.
According to this article, the Seattle Times’ write-up of the story suggests that this is part of the general problem with “dark money” and we need more federal regulations to police such PACs. Except that the Clinton PAC seems to be the only one that’s generated complaints that once you start giving, they never stop taking. In fact, that might make a good motto for all the Clintons’ pursuits.
