One thing to keep in mind as the “cascade” of stunning information about the FBI/DOJ keeps cascading is that we still know just a tiny fraction of all the day-to-day goings-on. We might have thought we had seen all of the Peter Strzok and Lisa Page texts about insurance policies and such, which are pretty compelling by themselves. But there’s more: now we see there was overt reference to activity that, really, can only be interpreted (by any rational person) as an attempt to infiltrate President-elect Trump’s transition team.
We know about this through investigative reporters Catherine Herridge and Sara Carter, who reported that Sens. Chuck Grassley of Iowa and Ron Johnson of Wisconsin have sent a letter to Attorney General Bill Barr to schedule a briefing by May 9 regarding particular Strzok-Page texts that suggest “improper FBI surveillance activities.” Barr has said he does believe spying took place –- and he dared to use “that word,” SPYING –- and these texts certainly lend support to that point of view.
With gratitude,

The Governor shares two reader comments
By Mike Huckabee
Weekends are often the time to catch up on reader comments. I thought it might be good to feature this letter (with slight editing) because it articulates very well the way many Americans feel today. The people Wanda talks about –- those in the middle –- are the ones who, in the end, decide elections, yet, ironically, they feel powerless, in that the people they put in office rarely do the job they were sent to Washington to do.
I would say to Wanda that the President is certainly trying to do the things he promised, but Congress, the mainstream media, and certain courts are trying to thwart him at every turn. It’s vital that he have a second term, and one with solid support in Congress. Some of the court decisions that have tied his hands will, before long, get to the Supreme Court, where he’s likely to prevail. The swamp really is gradually getting drained, and we’re finding out more almost daily about what’s gone on and what reforms need to be made. The Inspector General report on the FBI will be out soon, and AG Bill Barr seems intent on following the law at the Justice Department, so progress is being made. But the people “in the middle” have got to remain engaged and politically active in a grassroots way. If you identify with what Wanda is saying here, perhaps you should even run for office! Here’s what she had to say...
This weekend's synagogue shooting
By Mike Huckabee
I hope you will join me in saying prayers of comfort and healing for the victims of Saturday’s shooting in the Chabad of Poway synagogue in Poway, California. A 19-year-old male burst in and opened fire on worshipers on the last day of Passover. The rabbi, one adult and an 8-year-old child were injured, and 60-year-old Lori Kaye was killed, reportedly as she heroically tried to shield the rabbi with her own body. There are more details here:

Police caught the attacker and searched his house. He’s also now under suspicion in a recent arson attack on a nearby mosque. There are also questions about how he went undetected, since his social media posts reportedly include at least one anti-Jewish screed and what was described as “a manifesto” that talks about his plans for the attack.
And for anyone thinking of trying to exploit this hate crime by blaming it on President Trump or Republicans, the poster (who is presumed to be the shooter, although not yet confirmed), angrily denied being a conservative and when asked if he was a Trump supporter, responded, "You mean that Zionist, Jew-loving, anti-White, traitorous (expletive)? Don’t make me laugh.”

A Hate crime
By Mike Huckabee
Following this weekend’s horrific shooting in a California synagogue, here are how some of the leading Democratic candidates for President responded. There was a lot of condemnation of gun ownership, but barely a word condemning anti-Semitism.
For the record, President Trump responded that the shooting "looked like a hate crime" and later said at a rally in Wisconsin, “Our entire nation mourns the loss of life, prays for the wounded and stands in solidarity with the Jewish community. We forcefully condemn the evils of anti-Semitism and hate, which must be defeated."
Trump also praised an off-duty Border Patrol agent who happened to be armed and on the scene (a “good guy with a gun” is the common phrase) and who fired at the attacker as he was fleeing, possibly preventing further deaths.

Legislature of Idiots
By Mike Huckabee
New York’s Democratic legislature is considering a bill that would grant parole eligibility to all prisoners ages 55 and up who have been in prison at least 15 years. That covers hundreds of inmates, including some notorious murderers and rapists who would be let loose. The Staten Island District Attorney described the bill as “outrageous and idiotic.”
I’m assuming that means it has a better than even chance of passing the New York legislature. In fact, in New York these days, calling a bill “outrageous and idiotic” isn’t a condemnation, it’s an endorsement.

Must-Read Article
By Mike Huckabee
Must-Read Article: This blog post is by a young woman named Alyssa Ahlgren, who was inspired by sitting in a hipster coffee shop, watching her fellow Millennials badmouth America and capitalism while sipping expensive lattes and ordering things from Amazon off their iPhones for next-day delivery. She’s concerned that too many of her generation have been brainwashed into believing the nonsense that, as Newsweek put it, they have never seen American prosperity, so they are turning to “Progressive” Democrats to “fix” the capitalist system.
https://alphanewsmn.com/thoughts-from-a-hipster-coffee-shop/amp/
Her argument, with which I thoroughly agree, is that the real problem for today’s young people is that they’ve never seen anything BUT prosperity. They’re like fish who have no concept of what water is because they’ve always just lived in it. They haven’t suffered through a Great Depression or World War and seriously believe that things have never been worse and capitalism has never done anything for them (they get this idea from places like MSNBC, watched on a 60-inch TV that’s currently on sale at Walmart for $399 with free shipping.)
As she notes, in America, our “poverty line” starts at 31 times above the global average. She worries that too many in her generation are falling for leftist charlatans who will kill the golden goose because they’re not only misled and miseducated, they are also “unappreciative, unsatisfied, and ungrateful.”
While I think these young people are a loud minority, she’s right that too many don’t appreciate how incredibly well-off they are in America today because they have no experience of real hard times to contrast it with. Let's just hope there aren't enough of them who are foolish enough to elect people who will give them that experience, the way the people did in Venezuela. One of the differences between human beings and animals is that we’re supposed to be smart enough to be able to learn from other people’s mistakes and not have to make them ourselves.

Feel Good Story of the Day
By Mike Huckabee
Feel Good Story of the Day: The late President George H.W. Bush is in a much better place where he no longer needs the specially-equipped service van that was used to transport him toward the end of his life. So his family decided to give it to someone who could really benefit from it. To learn who got it, click the link.
This story will not only lift your heart, it will also make you miss Jay Leno. But then, I’ll bet you’ve already been missing Jay Leno for quite a while.

From the “Is This Really News?” Dept

From the “Is This Really News?” Dept: In Australia, a lesbian-run vegan café that charged men 18% more than women because of the alleged (and repeatedly debunked) “gender pay gap” just went out of business. Debate amongst yourselves as to whether it was due to the prices, the owners’ annoyingly in-your-face leftist/feminist politics or the vegan food.
