Democratic Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee is angry that only about 300 people have been arrested for the rioting in the Capitol on January 6th when there were 40,000 Trump supporters in town that day “with the mindset to overturn a legitimate election and to kill the Speaker, the Vice President, and Members of Congress…What kind of justice is that?”

I can’t believe I have to explain this to someone over the age of five, much less a Congress member of over 25 years' standing, but here goes:

They weren’t arrested because they didn’t commit a crime. What you’re pushing is called “guilt by association,” an idea Democrats used to oppose. The 40,000 peaceful pro-Trump protesters were just exercising their First Amendment rights, which they have a right to do…you know, under the First Amendment.

One Twitter commenter suggested that Lee was advocating arresting people just for thinking. I can see how that would be advantageous for politicians like her.

These politicians are mostly very ill educated and so selfish that it is mind-boggling. Also, they are trying to create the illusion that there was a riot--but no Trump supporters were found with any weapons and of the five who died, four were Trump supporters. Of those who crashed into the Capitol, many were proven to be Anti-Trump and Antifa supporters. This 'guilt by association' is a vicious and unwarranted smear and we must fight back against the ;cancel culture that is trying to ruin America. DEFEAT HR 1 or we shall never have an honest election again.

The democrats planned the Assault, with Antifa, and BLM had police escorts to the the capital and the capital police opened the door and guided the BLM and Antifa thugs thru the building. Pelosi and company should be the ones arrested.

How does she know what was in the peoples mind ? Most of them were still listening to the speech when this started happening. They sure did not care if anyone was arrest in the summer, when they were bashing police, burning building, and stealing things. The people were let into the capital, if you watch the video you can see that the doors were open for them by the Capital Police. we all konw it was a inside job

The really serious problem with this is that arresting people for expressing a grievance is the same as arresting members of Congress for actually doing what they are supposed to do. 'LUDICROUS WITH A CAPITAL "LUD"!

If this woman truly wanted law breakers arrested she would be advocating for all criminals that looted, destroyed & tried to burn down our country during the summer. People that support Pres Trump are only executing their first amendment rights. If this horrible woman really wanted what was right she & her fellow Democrats would not be trying to destroy our wonderful country right before our eyes.

How did we let our country sink this low, and can we ever get it back to where it needs to be without an outright 2nd American Revolution or Civil War II? Wow! How about arrests for actually committing crimes--like those rioters last summer who burned buildings and destroyed businesses then were bailed out by the current VP? 300 sounds like a lot to me and was she aware none of them were armed--no guns were found, so does she assume they were going to spray them to death with bear spray or pepper spray?! It was a more peaceful protest than any we saw from last summer BLM & Antifa were a part of this one too--doubt we'll ever know the truth.
