While it was a bad weekend for Democrats in Texas, it also wasn’t much fun for anti-Trump Republicans. Outspoken Trump critic Sen. Mitt Romney was loudly booed and heckled at the Utah Republican Convention.

Romney scolded the hostile crowd by saying, “Aren’t you embarrassed?” but the only thing they seemed embarrassed about was their vote for him for Senator.

While Sen. Susan Collins claimed she was “appalled” by home state Republicans booing Romney, we have to remember that her home state is Maine, not Utah. Also, Senators are supposed to represent their constituents, not lecture them on why they’re not living up to the Senator’s high moral standards.

Over in the House, Rep. Liz Cheney is also facing flak for her blunt anti-Trumpness. While she recently won a solid victory to keep her leadership role, there are rumblings that that might not last much longer. Grassroots Republicans are tired of sending people to Washington who lecture them instead of listening to them, and some other GOP leaders are getting the message, even if she isn’t.

In Utah, Romney told the GOP convention, “We need to come together in strength and unity.” Which is a very good message. It’s one that some Republicans should remember before they decide that it’s cooler to get praise from the New York Times for attacking their fellow Republicans than it is to defend them.

I am a born again republican for a decade or so now. That does not mean I have become a true believer in the party and the stand created by many of those elected to falsely represent us in Washington.
Once upon a time the party was strong, they actually worked for the people. Through the years the senators, representatives became weak and faltered in the face of democrats, more so than ever during obama's reign. Even I has just an everyday hard working citizen saw the government falling to communist.
False republicans like romney, collins, murkowski have done nothing for the states, the people. It is time the party works to make sure these democrats never hold any leadership position in the party or congress.

I really don’t get why even when they’re actually booing them to their faces, WHY they don’t t seem to grasp that THESE are the ppl that put them there & THESE are the ppl for whom they are supposed to be working? Are they really that stupid?? They need to step out of that bubble they’re in!

Just another RINO. Like the former Republican Governor of Florida thinking of running against DeSantis.....as a Democrat, a suit that fits him well.

They need to be removed from office if they are not representing those that voted them in.

I am they heckled Mitt, he deserved it. He has let us down constantly. I am ashamed I supported and gave him money for his presidency run.
One thing the Republicans need to is support other Republicans or keep silent if you don’t. Look how the Democrats supported Nancy after she tore up the speech, she should have been punished. No, Trump should not run again, to much baggage.

I'm absolutely appalled that I voted for him when he ran for President. I'm REALLY not happy the other idiot won that race, and personally ... I think it's time Patriots stood up to every AINO/RINO out there.

Where is the Republican who will earnestly endorse term limits ? Weak Conservatives got us to where we are now. Trumpism is the only effective way forward for Conservative Republicans. No passion, no victories.

The audacity of Romney to ask if they were embarrassed. He went running to President Trump to endorse him and help get him elected. I guess moral outrage only applies if you don’t need anything. Hypocrite !!

This is why we are in this mess. The anti-Trumpets have contributed to the demise of the USA Today. They are to be blamed for the runaway train they set loose. There is a long list starting with John McCain, Paul Ryan and numerous others. I am a Republican but I would NEVER vote them back into any office. I wouldn’t even trust them as dog catchers!

Republicans seem to be comfortable with the politics of cannibalism. The phenomenon mostly results in a dilution of representation. Only when centrists vote against democrats do republican candidates change the political dynamics in congress or the executive branch of government.

More proof these swamp RINOs need to go. They don't get that our entire Republic (NOT Democracy) is at risk. People need to unite in kicking to the curb career politicians like Romney!
