"Huckabee" Preview

Round up the family and call the neighbors: I have a new episode of “Huckabee” tonight on TBN that everyone will be talking about tomorrow.  My very special guest (and don’t even ask how I managed to book her) is the White House Press Secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders!  It might seem a little odd interviewing my own daughter, but I promise we will get into personal areas that other hosts never touch on.  And for once, the questioner won’t be yelling and making a spectacle of himself.

But that’s only the beginning.  Kevin DeMerritt of Lear Capital will help you protect your finances from unpredictable economic turns.  Singer-songwriters Nora Jane Struthers and Korby Lenker will tell us about their delightful hit, “Let’s Just Have Supper,” about bringing people of opposing views together.  Best-selling author Anthony DeStefano will offer tips on how to argue with an atheist, and you’ll meet the most rip-roaring Huck’s Heroes on two wheels. All that and more is coming your way tonight on TBN at 8 and 11 EST (7 and 10 CST), and repeated at the same times on Sunday. To find out where you can watch TBN in your area and to watch previous episodes, visit https://www.tbn.org/programs/huckabee

Good economic news

There’s good economic news all over, but since much of the media have declared it their duty to ignore that and concentrate on negative Trump stories, I guess it’s up to me to tell you about it:

Thursday, Walmart stock leaped more than 10% after the company announced that its same-store sales growth rate since last year was nearly double predictions and their e-commerce had grown by 40%.  The LEI (Leading Economic Index) rose by 0.6% in July, following a 0.5% jump in June. And on Friday, the Bureau of Labor Statistics announced yet another historic employment mark for a formerly lagging demographic: the summer youth unemployment rate (for 16-to-24-year-olds) fell to 9.2% in July.  That’s the lowest it’s been since the summer of 1966, the year the Beatles released the “Revolver” album (gosh, I hate even to think about that being 52 years ago!)

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/trump-celebrates-as-youth-unemployment-hits-half-century-low

I can think offhand of three possible reasons for the plunge in youth summer unemployment, all of them positive:

1.  The economy is booming so much that employers no longer have the luxury of choosing from among 100 experienced applicants for every minimum wage job, the way they did during the Obama years (which is why I think the Democrats’ slogan for retaking Congress should be “MASA: Make America Stagnant Again!”);

2.  Young people decided that working actually looks better on their college applications and teaches them more about the real world than all those extra-curricular activities and “lessons” that had replaced summer jobs in recent years (if so, then they’re right);

3.  (And this would be the most positive development of all) More young people want to make money, which means they’ll learn the satisfaction of earning an honest paycheck for a hard day’s work, one of the best ways to start out on the right path in life.  And when they get that first paycheck and see how much the government took out of it in withholding before they even had it in their hand, it will set them on the right path to becoming Republicans and capitalists and inoculate them from college professors brainwashing them with socialist rubbish.  That can only be good both for them and for America.

 Dog talk

How glacially slow does a news day have to be when you decide that examining the burning question of why President Trump doesn’t have a dog is worthy of national airtime?  At least MSNBC considered that maybe it wasn’t merely that he is cold and mean and evil (though he is, of course) but also, as he’s said before, that he’s a germophobe.  But then, that would throw doubt on all those icky salacious rumors from the Russian dossier that liberals delight in repeating, so never mind.

Yesterday, I referenced an old saying, that if you lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas.  Let’s update that to “If you lie down with dogs, you get up with MSNBC.”

Your Weekend Hypocrisy Round-up:

First, this is what incredibly ugly racism injected into a political campaign actually looks like.  But for some reason, the media seem to be scrupulously ignoring this blatant racism from a Democratic candidate while they debate whether President Trump’s use of the word “dog” is a racist dog whistle.

https://www.westernjournal.com/ct/double-standard-dem-candidate-uses-wildly-racist-language-to-insult-asian-opponent/

And let’s not forget the claim of sexual abuse against a powerful politician that the media and the Democrats would rather pretend doesn’t exist…

https://www.westernjournal.com/ellisons-alleged-victim-met-admitted-scared-go-public/

Finally, let’s not overlook the shocking outrage of a politician shredding the First Amendment by banning the media from a public political event.  Oh, wait, it was “Democratic” Socialist media sensation Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez who banned the media from her town hall, just so participants would feel “comfortable” without the “distraction” of reporters?  Well, never mind then!

 Media petitions Judge

A coalition of seven media outlets including CNN, Politico, Buzzfeed, the New York Times and the Washington Post petitioned the judge in the Paul Manafort case to unseal the names and addresses of the jurors.  The judge denied the motion, saying that the jurors felt scared and afraid, and likely with good reason.

The news organizations may appeal, although one would hope they might have the good sense and common decency to drop it.  They should think twice about why it would be necessary to subject private citizens who are just doing their public duty to the possibility of violent threats and reprisals from the deranged, anti-Trump left.  Hasn’t the left done enough “unmasking” of private citizens lately?

For the record, the media outlets argued that revealing the jurors’ names and addresses is common in many trials.  Their motion reads, “Here, there is no reason to believe that extraordinary circumstances exist that would justify keeping jurors’ names sealed — particularly after they have rendered their verdict…This is not a case involving organized crime or other circumstances in which the potential for violence or corruption requires an anonymous jury.”

That obtuse statement tells me these media outlets need to read some media outlets other than themselves. Then they might know that these days, simply calling for treating non-leftists civilly carries the potential for violence.

Wolf out

Fox News reports that the “comedian” who was hailed by Hollywood as the next big thing for insulting my daughter and other Republican women at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner and treating abortion as a suitable topic for a jokey musical number just got word that Netflix is canceling her show after only a few months.  My congratulations: this is the first time I’ve ever heard anything about her that actually made me laugh.

 Wow!

This story just might make your neighbors look at you with a little more respect for having all those old rusty cars up on blocks in your front yard.  Then again, probably not.

Gov Huckabee: In this current PC environment of rampant Social Media excess, the abrogation by the majority of the "Free Press" to do its civic duty to report the truth and nothing but the truth to the folks, and the ongoing Socialist Democratic political harassment and danger to anyone that disagrees with their mantra, why would anyone want to agree to serve on any type of jury trial of their peers? If the juror's names are going to be spread across the "winds of the universe", by Yellow Dog Journalist, because of the jurors only performing their civic duty to determine a just verdict of innocence or guilt, beyond a reasonable doubt, based on the facts presented in trial, don't be surprised if the reporting of jurors' names results in rampant consequences to the jury system and the Rule of Law, which this country is built on. You only need to read today's deteriorating language level of Social Media responses, either left or right, to see the decimating political "tinder box" that currently building in this country today. We are living in dangerous times!

Loved the interview with Sarah. In fact I wouldn't mind it if she had a 1/2 hour show "crystalizing" the White House message (W/O interruption or argument from the press). Odd how hostile they get when they are not getting their way or being pandered to. And yes, "it is like dealing with children". Seems that a lot of folks, on all sides, are quick to JUMP on a partial statement or darn near anything they can take out of content. catastrophizing and sensationalizing. Pretty much anything to pump the ratings. Oh well, Walter Cronkite warned us and hear we are. In closing, thank you for some good clean, fact based, information passing.

We watched your program last night-as usual it was great, but your daughter was the class act. She's just the right person to be press secretary. Thanks again, Governor, for a great show-and raising her right. May God continue to bless you and your family!

I enjoy reading all of your articles and comments. It is so refreshing to hear some good news once in a while and have faith in the person who is reporting it. I am a big fan of your daughter Sarah and admire her so much. I do not know how she takes all of the abuse from the media and just stays so calm. Hope you have a blessed day!

    Dear Governor,
All the left are saying is how bad the president is treating the poor people that sneak across the border and how we republicans are bashing the poor people that fear staying in their own country.
How about the poor white farmers in South Africa? Many Americans were so delighted when the black majority took over there. Now the "government" is seizing the land of white farmers and giving it to blacks. From news reports I only see on blogs, the government is killing a lot of the whites being evicted. How come there is no outrage over this?

Did read earlier that Michelle Wolf's show ended for lack of ratings and probably for lack of humor. Mocking Sarah and other women wasn't funny and she could take lessons on humor from Sarah's dad. Caught your show in progress but missed seeing your beautiful grandchildren. Looking forward to getting another glimpse.

Anyway.....this is how we Americans handle our old car legends......Sweden burns their.

The media is getting worse. They think they have the right to the names of the jurors in the Manafort trial?! They think it's their duty to harass the jurors so they'll make the "right" decision, and harass them after the trial is over if they make the "wrong" decision. They're also demanding private parts of the trial. The media thinks they're above everyone.

  • Anita Mae Barker

Somehow or other I thought that we didn't give out jurors names at all. Guess I was wrong? Thanks Mike. Have a good weekend.

THANK YOU, Governor Huckabee. When one has very limited time to READ (family illness, job, grandchildren in college), it is a Blessing to invest one's time in learning what is really "going on" and with a SMILE... we enjoy your humor, very much. Thank you for this undertaking. jeane

Why were the 4 jihadists released with ankle monitoring before trial after teaching children how to blow up schools and abuse them and Manafort of a non violent crime was 24/7 locked up before trial

Concerning the media's preoccupation with why President Trump doesn't have a dog. Why would he need another dog, when the media dogs him 24/7? LOL

    Mike,
You are pretty much in the know on Pres. Trump and I believe you know who is pulling the strings on everything that is going on. So, Does Pres. Trump know who and what he is really up against? Does he know those who he is trying to bring down are strict luciferians? Does he understand how they get their power through occult blood sacrifice rituals. Does he understand it is not the fake news or the liberal democrats but those much higher up the ladder? IF not, how can we open his eyes. I don't believe people like Paula White are going to advise him. We can pray but is it enough?

Why does the Boston Globe complain that people that don’t like their opinions in their reporting? I thought they were supposed to simply report the news, not editorialized every little item? And/or color it bad and of course, assume everyone watching leans to the left? As usual, they are completely out of step with the majority of the American public, & they themselves actually believe their own babbling......Thanks Mike, for continuing this byline!

I actually have some sympathy for the ridiculous NY House candidate who closed a town hall to the press. If the press is there, expect a competition between the members of the press who want to get their few minutes of airtime by hogging the proceedings and the folks who want to perform for the press. The people who just want to hear the candidate don't have a chance. Perhaps she could just bar cameras.
