Programming note: Next week, I’m giving my research, writing and tech staffers some time off from the headlines for the 4th of July vacation. But never fear, the newsletters will continue! I’ve prepared some non-topical commentaries that I hope you’ll enjoy. And our resident pop culture historian Pat Reeder has created a YouTube 4th of July Jukebox List of great but obscure songs related to patriotism and American history. There will be a new one in each mailing. Please check them out because I know you’ll get a kick out of hearing them.
Of course, if anything major does happen in the news, I’ll step back in and let you know about it. But with Congress safely out of Washington, just lean back and take a break with your family; enjoy the beaches, parks and picnics; and have fun watching some fireworks that are not of the political variety for a change.
From all of us at MikeHuckabee.com, have a happy, safe and patriotic Fourth of July week!
Now, I hope you will read Laura Ainsworth's great piece: My 20 questions for the next Democrat "debate." It is our #2 most read story on my website this week, and it just posted yesterday!
With gratitude,
Mike Huckabee

"Huckabee" preview
By Mike Huckabee
Kick off your Fourth of July week with a new, all-American episode of “Huckabee” tonight on TBN! I’ll welcome Taya Kyle, widow of Navy SEAL Chris “American Sniper” Kyle. Ryan Bomberger of the Radiance Foundation will tell us about his fight to expose the ugly racist side of the abortion industry. The twin titans of real estate, David and Jason Benham, will tell us how they flip houses while refusing to flip-flop on their moral principles. Hilarious comic Jeff Allen will bring the funny to the picnic. Plus I’ll have some serious commentary and crazy news “In Case You Missed It.” For added fireworks, we’ll end with music from country/Christian star, Danny Gokey, who first came to fame on “American Idol.”
So get your patriotic family celebration started early with “Huckabee,” tonight at 8 and 11 EST, 7 and 10 CST, and the same times on Sunday, on TBN. To find your local TBN channel and stream previous episodes online, visit https://www.tbn.org/programs/huckabee

Reader Response on "Medicare for All"
By Mike Huckabee
My commentary about “Medicare For All” as presented by the Democrat presidential candidates brought in some outstanding letters from readers, many of whom are actually on Medicare and know the costs and how it works in practice. (It is NOT free; that would be Medicaid.) I encourage you to check those out.
In the meantime, here is a thoughtful response from someone who served his country for 25 years in the military and earned his enrollment in a select single-payer program called “Tricare For Life.” This seems to be what young American socialists and even immigrants who are not citizens think they are entitled to, by virtue of...existing, I guess. Thank you for your service, sir, and for your wisdom as well.

Apple has backed off its threat to block the Parler.com app from its app store if the site didn’t ban “offensive content.” Parler’s CEO took that to mean “conservative content” and refused – properly, since Parler was launched as a free speech alternative to the ever-more-censorious limousine leftists at Twitter.

Click the link to find out how an upstart social media site made one of the world’s richest corporations back down with a combination of firm principles, bad publicity and a well-aimed tweet by Donald Trump Jr. Let this be a lesson and inspiration to all conservatives being silenced on social media that there are tens of millions of people who agree with them, and they can take their business elsewhere if the Silicon Valley socialists get too big for their britches.
Parler may not be a small upstart for long: they’re already up to 500,000 members. Let’s see if we can’t multiply that times ten by going to Parler.com, signing up for free, and then following me there (@MikeHuckabee), where I post all my Twitter content, just in case Twitter ever decides my beliefs are “offensive.”

I’m sure there are critics who will slam President Trump as unpresidential for saying these things about former President Jimmy Carter. But then, we used to have a tradition that Presidents didn’t attack their successors or try to undermine confidence in the legitimacy of American elections, especially not when those claims have been investigated and debunked repeatedly. While Trump might have been more diplomatic in his language, he was only replying to an unprecedented slander that he didn’t start.

Speaking of President Trump’s blunt opinions, I linked yesterday to several pundits’ assessments of Thursday’s Democratic “debate,” but here’s the one I know you were really waiting for:

I love a story that gives me the chance to say this: “Good dog!”

If you start to miss the daily political news about the Democratic Presidential candidates over the holiday week, just scroll through this list of old Marianne Williamson tweets. That should send you fleeing back to your lawn chair to lie down and recuperate.
And speaking of weird, a Minnesota woman who is a former vegan claims that since she discovered “pranic living” and “breatharianism,” she seldom eats solid food anymore but instead lives on energy that she derives just by breathing in air. Here’s my question: Why was this woman not a participant in the Democratic “debates”?
