Every day until Christmas, I’m recounting “Simple Christmas” stories shared with me a few years ago by my radio listeners. One thing we all learned from “A Charlie Brown Christmas” is that it’s not how fancy your tree is that matters, it’s the love it represents. A radio listener of mine named Vicky from California sent me a beautiful story that illustrates that as well as Charles M. Schultz did. If you enjoy these stories, please let me know in the comments below.

Vicky recalled a time years before, when her young family was desperately poor and struggling to provide Christmas for their three small children. Her husband brought home a tree, but after working 14 hours, he hadn't noticed it was dead and brown on one side.

A neighbor tried to help by giving them a little 18-inch, lighted table-top tree. Vickie thought it was so small and ugly, she began to cry at the thought that this thing would be their family's tree. Just then, her little daughter began to cry, too, and hugged her. But she was crying for a very different reason.

The little girl said in awe, “That is the most beautiful tree I have ever seen. Do we really get to have that as our tree this year?"

Vicki wrote, “I had a permanent attitude change. That night, I couldn't stop thanking our Heavenly Father enough for His blessings.”

So you see, it’s true: A little child shall lead them. Tomorrow, a story that reminds us Christmas is not about the getting, but the giving.

Mike's commentaries are always spot on. Trump is not from "Bubbaville", but neither is he a product of "Bubbleville", thankfully.

Carson should have been named Surgeon General and Huckabee to HHS !

Today's story about the substitute scrawny little tree was a good story, but, Monday's story about the man in the Army Airman in 1942 was the best so far.

I work in a public health center where we provide care to the low income population of our area. Last week an elderly lady came to the reception desk needing to be seen.she said she only had a few dollars and she knew she had a rather large balance. We agreed to see her and she was escorted to an exam room. While she was being seen a woman in the waiting room came to the desk and paid $100 on the elderly lady's account and left . This annoyous lady did not know the patient but said she felt the Lord prompting her to give the money. Just as God sent His son as a gift to us so also we should take this lady's example and share money time and resources with those in need for His glory

That was a beautiful story. It brought back memories of my first Christmas away from home in the military. We had a small table tree in our squad bay. It wasn't fabulous, but it was ours, and we loved it. Charlie Brown Christmas trees are always charming. Paperclips were the garland.

Thanks so much for sharing ALL these stories. I love them, and love how they portray the spirit of Christmas. Just so you know...your emails are just about the only ones (among the many I receive) that I thoroughly read and appreciate, EVERY time I get one. Keep up the good influence. I've been a fan for several years and was so sad you didn't get more recognition in the primaries.
Merry Christmas to you and your family.

I always love your messages and wish more people were like you. As a politician you bring integrity to the word politician unlike many others. Your thoughtfulness, kindness and simple logic and common sense is what we need more of these days. You think things through and bring in a heck of lot of knowledge unlike any other person I seen or heard. I always look forward to seeing you when you are on TV or hear and read what you have to say. I wish you well and hope you return to your show on Fox again.

God bless you and wish you and your family a Very blessed Merry Christmas and a Very Holy, Happy and Healthy New year.

    Hi Mike,

I just sent an email to Fox News Insider. I'm sick and tired of Democrats and Liberals boycotting products, services, etc, because of political ideas, bias and bent on attacking conservative ideas. The most recent, being Anthony Boudien not attending any Trump restaurants, resorts, etc. Not-to-mention, the liberal media and Hollywood elite.

I'm tired of college professors and school teacher brainwashing our youth and young adults with there political ideologies and then, punishing them in various ways for their religious, political or conservative ideologies.

I agree with Wayne Root, we should be boycotting and fighting back, which I'm already doing. I think it is about time the conservative leaders in this country take a stand against this behavior and promote the same behavior by Republicans and Conservatives. When it affects there elite, fat stuffed wallets, let see how they react.

We are being bullied, harassed and physically attacked for our viewpoints and ideologies. This is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!

Sorry, for my anger, but the attack on Ivanka and her family is not acceptable any longer. You seem to be the only one taking these matters seriously and willing to do something about them. I can't believe, I'm the only one who feels this way. I hear a lot of "Lip Service", but no one in a leadership position is taking action. Thank God for President Elect Trump.

    Thanks for listening,

    Rod Losey

Thank you for this story Mr. Huckabee. We love you! I can certainly relate to this because I was very poor when my children were babies. I was a single mom, having been left by their dad, and I too struggled to provide for them let alone provide a Christmas for them to remember. God intervened every year and my children would have something under the tree. I was never grateful enough then but when I became a Christian I did realize how many times I was blessed by our Father in Heaven!
