For all the people who moaned and screamed at the sky because Hillary Clinton didn’t become President, it’s worth considering where she would have taken America if she had won. If more of the young “progressives” who backed Bernie Sanders had put her over the top, they would have expected more of what they’ve been misled to think is great: socialism. Hillary is too smart to believe that socialism is anything other than a recipe for disaster. But during the campaign, she claimed that she strongly identified with the early 20th century progressives, and they made no secret of how they wanted to fundamentally transform America.

These were people like Margaret Sanger, who founded Planned Parenthood and wanted to use birth control and abortion to reduce the population of groups she considered inferior. President Woodrow Wilson, who wanted to make America subservient to a League of Nations. The Fabian Socialists, who wanted to advance socialism gradually, so that like frogs in a slowly heating pot, Americans wouldn’t realize their freedom had been boiled away until it was too late. And of course, the backers of the 16th Amendment, which created the income tax, which led to the IRS, now America’s only officially-sanctioned criminal enterprise.

Remind me again why we haven't replaced the IRS with the Fair Tax

By Mike Huckabee

It seems as if Congress is always trying to pass some bill that that’s so big, we won’t know what’s in it until it’s the law. And that always works out swell…for the government, not for us.

For instance, in 2015, Congress voted on an 864-page highway funding bill. The Wall Street Journal, which was one of the few media outlets that actually took the time to slog through the whole thing, discovered that buried deep inside it was yet another new power for the Internal Revenue Service (I don’t know how the IRS relates to highways, unless it’s because they treat us like speed bumps, or maybe because some tax rates are highway robbery.)

For some inexplicable reason, the proposed “highway funding bill” gave the State Department the right to revoke or deny your passport if you owed the IRS more than $50,000. Once it was spotted, its backers assured us this would “usually” only apply to Americans with IRS liens on their property, and “likely” wouldn’t hit those who’d made payment arrangements. I don’t know about you, but I’m “usually” not comfortable with giving broad new powers to the IRS on the promise that they “usually” wouldn’t expand them and “likely” wouldn’t abuse them.

"Yankee Doodle"

By Mike Huckabee

As I watch the remaining leftists rant and scream, and attempt to foment hatred and violence against people who are just trying to dine quietly at restaurants, and yelling the F-word at the Tony Awards and somehow being stunned that this is making them less and less popular with most Americans, I keep thinking of a scene in the movie, “Mars Attacks.”  A belligerent general is struck with a Martian shrink ray, and the tinier he gets, the louder and angrier his threats become, until he’s finally squashed like a bug.  If the rapidly-shrinking left in America doesn’t want to end up with the same fate, they’d better start growing up fast.

At this link, a terrific piece by Ed Driscoll, explaining why it’s embarrassing, insulting and self-aggrandizing for the consequence-free anti-Trump loudmouths to name themselves after the French Resistance and compare Trump to Hitler.  He reminds us of what the genuine Resistance risked and the price they paid for standing up to real Nazis.

Don't buy the "conventional wisdom"

By Mike Huckabee

When a lie gets repeated so often that everyone thinks it’s true, it’s called “conventional wisdom” – maybe because it happens so often at political conventions. These days, the conventional wisdom is that Americans are clamoring for European-style, cradle-to-grave Socialism Lite. Don’t buy it.

Throughout the Bush-Obama era, the media kept repeating “failed conservative policies” until even a lot of so-called conservatives believed it. Well, what a difference a few years make. We tried leftist policies. They resulted in a sluggish economy, depressed job growth, rising income inequality, reduced wealth and opportunities for minorities, and abroad, a decline in US prestige and leadership and the advancement and emboldening of our enemies, including a terrorist “JV team” spreading into a worldwide threat.

Interesting examination

By Mike Huckabee

This story features an interesting examination of the attempt to cite Scripture as an argument for lenient immigration and border control policies.  It includes the rationale of theologians on both sides of the issue.  Unfortunately, it doesn’t delve into why people who spend much of their time attacking or mocking Christians for believing in the Bible cite the Bible to support their positions when it’s convenient.  But we can probably figure that out without Divine intervention.

Maybe we should mobilize the troops to the borders (especially the Mexican border) as we are being invaded as we did in the Revolutionary War to protect our family and property. Why not? We can fight on foreign lands in Europe and Asia and all around the world. Let's start defending our home land. Hope to start a conversation with like minded ppl. Thanks for this opportunity. LOL
