A watchdog group called Citizens for Responsible Ethics in Washington (CREW) and the attorneys general of DC and Maryland have all filed lawsuits against President Trump, accusing him of violating the emoluments clause of the Constitution by taking gifts from foreign governments. This is based on the notion that he benefits from foreign profits to his business, even though he legally separated himself from his business when he took office.

The Justice Department has responded that the lawsuits are absurd, but they’re just the latest attempt to try to distract and hamstring Trump from enacting the agenda he was elected to implement through the abuse of the courts via friendly liberal judges. Blind trusts were created so that private citizens could serve in office without having to divest themselves of businesses they’d built a lifetime building. Without that protection, the only people who would be allowed to hold office would be those who’d never earned a penny in their lives that didn’t come from a government paycheck. And as the DOJ pointed out, imposing such a rigorous standard would have eliminated many Presidents going all the way back to Washington and Jefferson, whose plantations continued growing crops that were sold overseas even while they were in office.

Maybe the problem is that liberals just can’t grasp the difference between running a business that generates an honest profit and influence peddling since so many on the left in recent years have made influence peddling their most profitable sideline business.

Committee for Responsible Ethic in Washington? With all the pedophilia/pedogate, corruption, net worth in millions when congressional salaries barely 150K? And they want to investigate "emoluments"? Are they aware how transparently, blatantly insane & corrupt they sound to ordinary, mass citizens?

You are a liar! Trump has never legally divested from any of his properties; he has not used a blind trust in any legal sense. Putting his sons "in charge" is a sham!!! Wake up!!

It's not a comment on this article. The Print is too small for us old folks to read. My glasses are up to date. Kick it up a notch or two.

I cannot believe how many stupid (yes I said stupid) people continue to waste money trying to take down our President! This is so frustrating and yet our President continues to do the job he was elected to do, despite all the crap that is being thrown at him. I say take all these groups and people down.... You just can't fix stupid... This just is so irritating to me and I am sure many many more citizens who support our current administration (keeping them in my prayers).

I am wondering when you or someone is going to address the real reason Russia and other time wasting agendas.
The whole point here is to keep everything up in the air, thus they will be able to use it to grab the House in 2018.
While I believe Ryan is a terrible speaker, it is still possible for the Republicans to accomplish the laws that need to be changed before the mid term election. In my opinion they should completely forget this crap and get down to business while they can, otherwise we are going to have a bigger problem. Hope you see this, Don't forget 5 year old that was raped by the Muslims and got probation and the Judge gave a gag order to the parents. Dick Lyda

I only read a few blogs. If that is the correct name. The Daily Signal, Gary Bauer and that wonderful Governor Mike Huckabee. You have a really good style of writing and are always right on target.

All presidents receive gifts from all over the planet. They accept them, bring them home and the gifts are in turn presented to the USA as a President cannot accept a personal gift from a foreign entity. (Makes me wonder though what the Clintons did with whatever was gifted them.) You know them ... the ones who took items from the White House that did not belong to them.

regarding my previous comments that I wrote on 6/14/17 around 11:00 AM. I guess I'm naive, but I assumed that my comments would be going directly to him or his aides! I'd rather just my initials, J.W. would be used rather than my full name, if my comments are going to be publicly posted. Thank you for making this correction to my comment posting.

    Dear Mr. Mike Hukabee,
I just finished reading the top 2 of your editorials for today, 6/14/17, re: the Sessions 'inquisition' and the case of the illegal Iranian(?) refugees who happen to be Christians and will probably be sentenced to death if they are deported back to their homeland(s). I agree with your viewpoints completely. Is there any way these newsletter comments could be parceled out to various medium and large sized, mostly Democratic majority-run +/or voting cities, especially in NYS, VA, and CA to be included on their editorial pages? There must be some Democrats in those states that still read their local newspapers, and they must be exposed to the truth about their party's real motives. I feel like so much of the major conservative commentators' messages are just "preaching to the choir" in their newsletters and opinions on Fox News! Please, keep on preaching, Brother, but increase your chances that the 'whole congregation' in the USA hears your Message. Take care and Godspeed. Respectfully submitted, J.W.

This reminds me of what happened when GW Bush was elected. He spent months in court against Al Gore trying to finish the election instead of running the country.

    And then 9/11 happened.

Mike, please tell the President to just keep going forward, we need to start throwing lawsuit after lawsuit on Hillary for the Clinton foundation scam, her lies and emails and all the other harrasars that are after him and throw the spotlight back on them. They are sure giving us enough amo.

Those dorks who think Trump has illegal businesses with profits: ask them how many own real estate rentals with profits? Shady tax write-offs? How many could go to jail for doing what Martha Stewart did? Pelosi owns several businesses, in a community property state, so it's not only her husband's. The nasty hypocrites are showing their true colors, & we the voters are laughing at them. Total waste of taxpayers' money & time just for a circus. Waiting for the next election . . .

We look forward to your daily emails. This information is just part of the faster unraveling of American justice for the last 8 years, and we have seen it escalate so much in our lifetimes being in our 70's. It is the reason we voted for President Trump, and we will continue to support him. There is so much 'shadow money' being thrown into bringing him down, we are concerned for his well being. Thank you for your daily comments and your common sense information, for your deep love for this country and for our Lord. God bless you, Mike

Wow, reminds me of my time working in prisons: the most litigious group of people are inmates, because of course they're all innocent and are the victims. So sad.
