Israel Update

Here's the latest on the war in Israel from Fox News…

https://www.foxnews.com/live-news/israel-hamas-war-november-3

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Friday to press him for multiple “humanitarian pauses” in the war to get aid to Palestinians. He claims this is different from an all-out ceasefire, which would give Hamas time to retrench and launch an offensive. But Netanyahu wisely rejected it. His view is that if Hamas wants their destruction paused, they should release their hostages and surrender. Otherwise, their choice is to surrender or die.

A number of Democrats are frantically trying to distance themselves from the blatant anti-Semitism that’s suddenly become so obvious in their party. For instance, on Thursday, the House passed a resolution condemning the on-campus support of terrorist groups like Hamas and Hezbollah, and the vote was 396 to 23. The 22 Democrats who voted against it are under fire and some are trying the usual self-righteous excuses for their inexcusable behavior.

https://www.foxnews.com/media/democrats-confronted-no-vote-house-resolution-condemning-antisemitism-lies

The only one that I would give any credence to is New York Rep. Ritchie Torres, who claims he voted against it by mistake. He said he’s submitted a correction for the record, adding, "I have no use for pro-Hamas protestors, and I despise them with every fiber of my being."  The only Republican to vote no was Rep. Thomas Massie, who says he opposed it on free speech grounds.

Of course, that leaves the gaggle of radicals like the Squad who refuse to back down from their anti-Israel, anti-American, anti-Semitic rhetoric. Perhaps worst of all is Rep. Rashida Tlaib, who is such a cheerleader for Hamas terrorism, she might as well be carrying explosive pompoms. She slammed President Biden for supporting Israel, saying she might not support his reelection, and claiming he’s aidingg in “the genocide of the Palestinian people.” This must be the first genocide where the people allegedly committing it are going to extraordinary lengths to keep from harming anyone.

Speaking of genocide, Tlaib took to Twitter (X) to feebly argue that when her supporters chant “From the river to the sea,” it’s not the universally-known call for the annihilation of Israel and for Palestinians to take over the land it now occupies.  No, perish the thought! She tweeted that “From the river to the sea is an aspirational call for freedom, human rights, and peaceful coexistence, not death, destruction, or hate. My work and advocacy is always centered in justice and dignity for all people no matter faith or ethnicity.”

And I have some prime oceanfront property in Little Rock that I’d love to sell you.

Respondents rightly ripped her to shreds for that “peaceful coexistence” camel manure, posting graphic photos and videos of the actual genocide inflicted on innocent Israeli civilians, including children and babies, by the barbaric Hamas terrorists she’s defending.

I hope she’s right that “we will not forget” when we vote in 2024, and that Americans will remember who the real genocide-endorsing, terrorist-supporting abominations are and vote them out of office and into political oblivion.

Trump Trial Update

As former President Trump’s show trials start heating up, his attorneys are doing a good job of shining a spotlight on the biased officials and rigged system. Elsewhere in the newsletter, you’ll find info on their claim of extensive communications between the Biden White House and the DOJ on the classified documents case. They’ve also revealed in the Colorado case where plaintiffs are attempting to keep Trump off the ballot for “inciting insurrection” that the judge who claims to be impartial gave a donation to a group fighting J6-style “insurrections.”

https://www.westernjournal.com/judge-trump-insurrectionist-ballot-appearance-trial-donated-group-formed-prevent-violent-insurrections-j6/

And the New York real estate fraud trial descended into chaos when his attorneys announced that they might seek a mistrial based on a perception of bias because of all the notes the judge is passing back and forth with law clerk Allison Greenfield. They noted that Breitbart News reported that Greenfield may have violated state law by making donations in excess of $500 to Democrats.

https://www.westernjournal.com/trump-trial-devolves-total-chaos-right-eric-trump-takes-stand/

There was audible scoffing in the court at the mention of Breitbart (being a conservative news site, it apparently deserves no respect, even though the left can’t dispute the contents of their article, which came direct from the state election donation database, complete with exact amounts, dates and recipients.) So the furious judge pulled out another gag order of questionable constitutionality and barred Trump’s attorneys from mentioning his law clerk’s political bias and possible violation of campaign donation laws.

The big story of the day from that trial was expected to be Eric Trump’s testimony, but I never expected much from that, considering he has nothing to do with property valuations (these people really have no clue how major corporate loan contracts are written.) But he did say something worth quoting because it sums up this trial perfectly:

Eric Trump called the trial “a joke, an absolute joke,” adding, “This is a big charade that is a huge waste of taxpayer money and it’s the very reason everyone’s moving out of New York state, and I was actually one of them.”

“Trans Awareness Month”

I’ll bet you breathed a sigh of relief when “Gay Pride Month” in June finally ended (it seemed to go on all summer), but now, activists are trying to force us to observe November as “Trans Awareness Month.” As if we already weren’t “aware” of trans people far beyond their actual numbers. Didn’t we cover that with the “T” in “LGBTQ” during “Gay Pride Month?” Apparently, that wasn’t enough attention for them.

But I don’t think they’re going to like the news stories that kicked off “Trans Awareness Month,” because all they did was make people even more aware of how unfair and dangerous it is to let males who claim to “identify” as female compete in sports against women.

First, there was the story of the “trans” cyclist who won gold in the Chicago CycloCross Cup, marking “her” tenth gold medal stolen from women competitors in less than a year. The Chicago race organizers said that anyone who disagrees with transgenderism will be “asked to leave.” That’s a great idea: all women competitors should leave any events that force them to compete against men and start their own events. We could call them “A league of their own.”

https://www.breitbart.com/sports/2023/11/02/trans-cyclist-celebrates-tenth-medal-won-racing-against-women/

But then came even worse PR for “Transgender Awareness”: a shocking video that went viral of a girls’ high school field hockey game in Massachusetts. A male who reportedly “identifies” as female and was allowed to compete against girls hit the ball so hard that it struck a girl in the face and knocked her teeth out. You can hear her scream in pain (warning: disturbing video at the link.)

https://www.westernjournal.com/video-school-tries-shift-blame-teammate-male-player-knocks-teeth-girl/

The school defended this with the usual load of softsoap about acceptance and inclusion and the “right to play,” but that hasn’t quelled the rising public outrage. Everyone with eyes and a functioning brain could see how unfair and dangerous this mass societal delusion has become for female athletes. How many girls will have to not only lose trophies and scholarships but be seriously injured or even killed before we demand that schools and sports organizations come to their senses and stop forcing them to compete against males who are twice their size and strength?

That link has some good comments from Riley Gaines and Chad Prather, but I think the best comments came from women’s sports activist Amy E. Sousa:

"Sports are segregated by sex because women deserve physical fairness and safety in sports! Men who physically harm women on the field and steal women’s rightful accomplishments have been emboldened by federal and state policies that are outright abusive to women. Policies that prioritize men’s identity claims over the physical safety of women are more than sexist, they constitute ABUSE.”

The Power of Capitalism

One of the dumbest traps that Republican candidates fall into is taking seriously the question, “What will you do about income inequity?” The answer ought to be, “Celebrate it! Income inequality is one of the BEST features of capitalism. It means that people are rewarded with monetary incentives if they work hard, are innovative and create products and services a lot of people like, and those traits are good for everyone in society.”

You know where you’ll find income equality? In communist nations like Cuba, where everyone has pretty much nothing. That is, unless you count the leaders, who always seem to live like kings. No wonder the people who whine the most about income inequality tend to be socialists. They want us to institute an unjust economic system that’s failed miserably everywhere it’s been tried because they picture themselves being the power brokers who prosper under that corrupt system. Ask any regular working person who fled to America from a socialist nation if they want to import that garbage here.

There are three factors that make capitalism such a powerful force in creating wealth and growing the economy: incentive, innovation and competition. Profit isn’t a factor; it’s the very purpose of all three of those factors. Profit provides the incentive that makes everyone who engages in capitalism believe their efforts can pay off in gaining wealth and improving their lives.

Leftists may see colleges as socialism indoctrination centers, but the only reason most people take on the time, effort and debt of getting a degree is because they assume it will result in a bigger paycheck since gender studies majors are in for a rude awakening. People take risks that benefit us all, whether going to college, opening a business or patenting new inventions, not just because they’re following their passion but in hopes of making money.

All this creative energy that powers capitalism is generated by people motivated by the knowledge that the system can and will reward their success. This opportunity didn’t exist under the feudal system, it’s severely hampered by socialism, and it’s nonexistent under communism. That’s why those systems are so economically stagnant and far behind capitalist nations in innovation. Capitalism is the true “economic justice;” it’s lifted more people out of poverty worldwide than any other system.

If you want to see the perfect A-B comparison of communism and capitalism, look at a nighttime satellite photo of Korea. Capitalist South Korea is so prosperous that its lights shine brightly enough to be seen from the moon. Communist North Korea is in the dark, figuratively and literally.

That’s also a perfect illustration of how the “unequal income” generated by encouraging incentive, innovation and competition helps the entire society. Innovation that responds quickly to market demand brings us new and better products and services that improve everyone’s lives. Young people today who claim to hate capitalism couldn’t imagine a world without Amazon, Uber, smart phones, streaming entertainment and other innovations of capitalism that didn’t even exist when I was their age. Competition improves services, keeps prices lower and provides choice.  Russians in the old USSR used to wait in long lines for everything because the government was the only supplier and the government didn’t care if there were no choices or quality in the products or services.

Capitalism can even be better for the environment. When consumers began demanding cleaner processes, greener products and more fuel-efficient cars, industry quickly responded. You can now find countless organic products available at Walmart, and the air and water are far cleaner than they were 50 years ago. Capitalism is so much more efficient than government planning that while President Biden is trying to mandate that everyone drive electric cars by 2030, I would bet that long before then, private industry will have developed new auto technologies that make today’s lithium battery EVs look as obsolete as Model T’s. That is, if the government will quit thinking it can predict the future and pick winners and losers with subsidies, and just get the heck out of the way.

When you hear someone ranting about “income inequality,” remember that you’re hearing someone so lacking in brains, skills and ambition that the only way they could ever get rich is by being a socialist politician.   Think about Bernie Sanders who preaches austerity, but who owns 3 homes.
