--------------------------

Just yesterday, I wrote about House Speaker Nancy Pelosi accusing President Trump of “fiddling while Rome burns” and accusing him of being responsible for American deaths, particularly in her San Francisco district, for not taking the coronavirus pandemic seriously enough fast enough. It was a comment that Sen. Lindsay Graham rightly called “the most shameless, disgusting statement by any politician in modern history.”

Could we also add “and the most hypocritical”? Because not only was Pelosi distracting Trump with her stupid impeachment crusade while he was trying to keep the virus out of the US in January, but as recently as February 24, she was urging people in San Francisco to ignore the virus warnings and come out to big public gatherings. I quote:

“We want to be careful about how we deal with it, but we do want to say to people ‘Come to Chinatown, here we are — we're, again, careful, safe — and come join us.'”

Hope you don’t get any blood-stained fingerprints on your fiddle, Madam Secretary.

COVID-19 Update

By Mike Huckabee

As of this morning, the number of confirmed COVID-19 (Wuhan) virus cases in the US has reached 164,610, with deaths reaching a grim milestone by topping 3,000 at 3,170. The epicenter is New York, with over 67,000 cases and nearly a third of all deaths in the US.

There is some hopeful news. The FDA fast-tracked shipping the drugs Chloroquine and Hydroxychloroquine to public health authorities to treat severe cases of COVID-19. Some object that it’s not proven clinically, but it certainly seems promising, and this man who says it pulled him back from the brink of death probably didn’t prefer to wait another year or two for the trial results:

Johnson & Johnson also announced that it’s partnering with the government to develop and produce a billion doses of a coronavirus vaccine for use worldwide by the end of next year. That may seem like a long time, but it’s an astounding advance in technology that J&J CEO Alex Gorsky compared to the moon landing. For millennia, the same diseases would kill countless people. Then we developed vaccines, but it often took years of research. Now, Gorsky says, “What would usually take five to seven years, we expect to be able to accomplish in five to seven months.” I know those sound like long months, but to imagine how far we’ve come, look at the 1918 Spanish flu epidemic, when about all we had to treat it was aspirin.

One of the least heralded reasons why things are getting done so quickly (because it would require giving President Trump credit) is that we have a business manager in charge instead of a politician, and his immediate inclination is to solve problems, not study them. To give you an idea of what a miracle it is that he’s getting things done as quickly as he is, check out this article about how government red tape is crippling our virus response, even as Trump is swinging a scythe to cut through it.

And here’s a close look at a specific case: how a distiller wants to help by converting to making hand sanitizer, and the FDA is blocking him. Maybe they're afraid hand sanitizer isn't as good for the public health as whiskey.

I wanted to make sure you also read these comments:

Fake News Tuesday, COVID-19 Edition, Part 1

Not that her comments are actually worth mentioning, but since some poor deluded souls on the left continue to think of MSNBC Russian Collusion conspiracy monger Rachel Maddow as an actual journalist, I should include this: Maddow, who recently (and hilariously) suggested that networks shouldn’t air the President’s daily updates because HE dispenses misinformation (!), said this to her viewers exactly one week before the USNS Comfort arrived in New York harbor:

“In terms of the happy talk we’ve had on this front from the federal government, there is no sign that the Navy hospital ships that the president made such a big deal of, the Comfort and the Mercy, there’s no sign that they`ll be anywhere on-site helping out anywhere in the country for weeks yet. The President said when he announced that those ships would be put into action against the COVID-19 epidemic. He said one of those ships would be operational in New York harbor by next week. That`s nonsense. It will not be there next week.”

https://pjmedia.com/instapundit/363149/

In fact, President Trump made good on his promise to dispatch the 1,000-bed Navy hospital ship USNS Comfort to New York harbor, and it could be ready to start taking in patients as soon as today. Here are some photos of it arriving under the watchful eye of the Statue of Liberty that will send a patriotic thrill up your spine, if you're not an MSNBC viewer. I can assure Ms. Maddow that these pictures were not created in Photoshop by Russians.

Fake News Tuesday, COVID-19 Edition, Part 2

As part of the media’s tireless (and ever-more-tiresome) attempts to gin up as much divisive rage and fear over President Trump as possible, on Monday, “CBS This Morning” aired footage of an overcrowded hospital room in coronavirus-raged Italy and claimed it was a hospital in New York City.

https://www.westernjournal.com/cbs-used-fake-covid-video-ny-hospital-footage-italys-hardest-hit-city/

When called on it, CBS News removed the video from all its shows and web platforms, and blamed it on an “editing mistake.”

It’s nice to know that with so many things we take for granted uprooted due to the CHINESE coronavirus pandemic, there are still some reliable touchstones that remain as solid and unchanging as Mount Rushmore:

1. Never believe anything you hear on Rachel Maddow’s show.

2. When Trump makes a mistake, he’s a LYING LIAR WHO LIES, but when the media lie, it’s always just a mistake.

When I get upset with the fake news, I think about the scene in Top Gun between Jack Nicholson and Tom Cruise. " You can't handle the Truth"!
Play that each time they spit out their lies!

On March 29th on PBS I watched "Garth Brooks: The Library of Congress Gershwin Prize. It was quite a rousing concert performed before a packed to capacity house at the DAR Constitution Hall in Washington D.C. In the crowd were many notables from both political parties but appeared to be heavier into the Democratic party. The cameras panned to Nancy Pelosi several times. I especially enjoyed when she was rocking to "I've Got Friends In Low Places". After I finished watching the show I started to wonder when the production had been filmed and what is the capacity of the venue. My research told me that the show had taken place on the evening of Wednesday, March 4th and that the seating capacity of DAR Constitution Hall is 3,702. Since Nancy Pelosi and her Democratic colleagues like to criticize Donald Trump and his administration for "Fiddling while Rome burns" could she and her colleagues be accused of "Rocking while Rome burns"? By the way, I didn't see either Donald Trump or Mike pence in that crowd.

    Hi Mike,

I always appreciate your thoughtful commentary. However, I'm disappointed to read positive comments about the coming vaccine. But this might be a topic you haven't researched. There are many issues here, but in summary:
    1) Unsafe: side effects are a lot more common than reported, yet over $4 billion has been paid out as compensation, proving that vaccines are NOT safe
    2) Ineffective: vaccines don't actually work very well. Despite official propaganda, the efficacy of most is extremely poor.
    3) Risking medical freedom: what's to stop the new vaccine from being mandatory to go back to work? But according to the Nuremberg Code, voluntary consent is absolutely essential.
    4) Incompatible with many religions: Most vaccines were made with aborted fetal cells! As Christians, I don't think we can support this. Blood is also used, which is a problem for Orthodox Jews and Christians. In fact, 100 years ago there were even hymns against vaccination! The church used to stand up against these things. Fortunately it's a growing movement again. http://nodeception.org/ is probably the best resource for the Christian perspective.

I would like to urge you to research this issue more yourself. Talk to the top experts on both sides. And search the scriptures to see if this is compatible. Thanks.

Everyone's getting all revved up about a vaccine for this virus, and the speed at which it's being "fast-tracked" but no one will talk about the dangers, about the thousands of people harmed by vaccines in this country every year, about the deaths. It's time we parents had our due, that the government and official sources admitted that vaccines kill and maim as well as help (and that it's usually the additives, the "adjuvants" which do so, not the vaccine itself.) It's time someone stood up and admitted it, instead of trampling over the graves of our families. BTW, before someone jumps down my throat, I'm NOT "anti-vax". I'm absolutely 100% PRO rabies vaccines--but then, rabies is almost 100% fatal.

Why is it that the democrats have all the right answers but have nothing to offer but criticism. All I hear is how incompetent they think Trump is, and how his actions or non-actions are costing American lives.
I'm a general contractor, and anytime I'm doing something and someone else has a better way of doing something, I step back and let them show me how to do it. And I'm happy they showed me and I thank them. If you're going to just watch and tell me how I'm doing it wrong without offering any good advise, you're going to get hit with a tool.
If the democrats have any good advise on how to save lives and jobs through these times, they need to step forward and become part of the solution, otherwise shut up.

I have an idea for a new game show. It would be modeled after Name That Tune, and Mike Huckabee could host it. Rachel Maddow would do her normal show, full of her normal statements, and the contestants would guess in how many days the statement would be proven to be a lie. Picture this: "He said one of those ships would be operational in New York harbor by next week. That`s nonsense. It will not be there next week.”
"Well, Mike, I think it will be proven a lie in 9 days." "No, Mike, I think 8 days." "I think 7" PROVE THAT LIE!!!
Contestants could win prizes, cash, whatever.

Why do you continue to support Trump? A minister was arrested for opening his church for worship in Florida. At what point of going against our constitution do we lay down all of our freedoms because Trump said so. How can you still support him? I am a christian, I voted for Trump. I am not blind to what has happened on his watch. Our governor Dewine has decided to give us a curfew in Ohio. I will go to jail before I stop going to church or listen to this Nazi take over. You have a platform to help stop this .You should pray and see what God thinks of His Pastors being arrested in America.
