Today's Commentary: Will Lisa Page appear Thursday? You've got to be kidding... -- Lisa Page defies congressional subpoena, refuses to testify -- Goofus and Gallant -- Identity politics -- President Trump's press conference -- Evening Edition - Daily Verse

POLL:  Did President Trump make a good choice to replace Justice Kennedy?

At this writing, FBI agent Peter Strzok is scheduled to appear at a public hearing on Thursday at 10:30 AM Eastern Time, and it appears likely he’ll show, but of course, no one –- except, presumably, his lawyer –- knows for sure whether he’ll actually be there or follow Lisa Page’s lead and skip out. House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte has expressed his extreme displeasure, and the Judiciary and Oversight committees sent a letter offering Page three choices:

Lisa Page defies congressional subpoena, refuses to testify

By Mike Huckabee

Well, it looks as though I have a little more time to write my “20 Questions for Lisa Page,” because Page is defying her subpoena and refusing to show up for her Wednesday closed-door hearing before two House committees, Judiciary and Oversight.

I guess the first question now will have to be, “What makes you think you get to defy a subpoena?”

Her lawyer, Amy Jeffress, has said it’s because they weren’t provided with the scope of the interview and that Page, the former top legal assistant to then-FBI deputy Director Andrew McCabe, hadn’t been able to view the materials that had been produced for Congress, such as the anti-Trump text messages she exchanged with similarly anti-Trump FBI agent and extramarital squeeze Peter Strzok.

Wait a minute --- doesn’t she already HAVE those thousands of text messages? Considering they’re the very ones Strzok sent to her, along with the ones she tapped out herself with her own two apparently-bionic thumbs, it would seem likely that she’s already quite familiar with them and is not going to be blindsided. Unless, of course, she’s worried that Congress has uncovered even more damning exchanges and wants to know in advance what they’ve got.

Goofus and Gallant

By Mike Huckabee

Goofus and Gallant, DC Style: Hours after President Trump nominated Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, Democratic Congress members fed the fear machine by calling him horrible names, claiming he would harm women and school children, and threatening to impeach him.

Hours after President Trump nominated Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, Judge Kavanaugh fed the homeless.

Guess which one(s) are Goofus?

Identity politics

By Mike Huckabee

The ultimate end game of identity politics, after you invent 57 genders and pit them all against each other for government largesse:

In London, outrage broke out over the LGBTQ Pride Parade, when a group of lesbians called “Get The L Out” marched with a banner reading “Transactivism Erases Lesbians.”  They were accused of “shocking and disgusting” bigotry, ignorance, hate and transphobia.  But they claim that “lesbians are being assaulted by trans women for refusing to have sex with them,” and lesbians are being “intimidated, threatened and silenced by the GBT community” for protesting it.  Or as a spokes…person put the controversy succinctly:

“The GBT community today, by supporting the rights of males who ‘identify as lesbians’ (also called ‘transwomen’) over the rights of lesbians to choose their sexual partners (on the basis of their sex, not how they ‘identify’) is in fact enforcing heterosexuality on lesbians. This is a misogynistic and anti-lesbian manifestation of the rape culture we live in.”

So by trying to accommodate every possible manifestation of gender identity, the very people doing it are now allededly enforcing heterosexual “rape culture” on lesbians.
