Reader comment on "...full of Mitt"

Thanks to all who continue to comment on Mitt Romney's foolhardy, ego-driven and fantasy-based vote to convict and remove the President of the United States, his political nemesis. Here's one particularly astute (and concise!) reader reply:

From Wanda:

Oh Mitt.....the Dems will play him like a fiddle and then break the strings.

Just in case you actually needed one more reason to take the House of Representatives away from the Democrats and send them back home to think about what they’ve done, they will vote today on the Protecting the Right to Organize Act. With that innocuous-sounding name, it’s expected to pass easily.

What it would actually do is take California’s disastrous Assembly Bill 5 national. That’s the new law that’s throwing thousands of independent contract workers, from Uber drivers to jazz musicians, out of work by declaring them “employees” and demanding that anyone who hires them provide them with union-style benefits. It’s heavily backed by the unions under the guise of “protecting workers,” but what it really does is eliminate competition, consumer choice, worker freedom and, of course, jobs. Fortunately, it will never pass the Senate, but just the idea that something this stupid and overreaching could pass the House at all should send a chill down your spine.

When you go to the polls this November, remember: Uber drivers and musicians don’t deserve to lose their jobs, Democratic Congress members do.

Just For Laughs: Kurt Schlichter recaps “Three Glorious Days of Democrat Agony.” While it’s not nice to laugh at the misfortunes of others, there are few other writers who can make schadenfreude this funny.

Much of the news was dominated Wednesday by talk about Nancy Pelosi’s childish tantrum where she tore up her copy of President Trump’s State of the Union Address behind him at the end of the speech. I don’t want to talk too much more about it because I believe it was a planned stunt, calculated to take the focus off the many, many important things Trump said in that speech, and so far, it’s been working.

While I think it’s good for everyone to take a moment to reflect on just how petulant, childish and emotional the House Democrats have been, there are adults trying to get important things accomplished, and we should pay more attention to that. So with the Senate drop-kicking their ludicrous “impeachment” articles into the landfill of history, it seems a perfect time to do a quick wrap-up of Nasty Nancy stories, then wash my hands of her and her Peanut Gallery’s childish antics.

First of all, there’s the juvenile “He started it!” argument over Trump “snubbing” her proffered hand shake at the beginning of the speech. I’ve watched the tape repeatedly; it seems clear that he was already turning back around before he would’ve seen her extended hand. Besides, he also didn’t shake Mike Pence’s hand. Unlike Nancy Pelosi, Trump had more important things on his mind at the time than petty personal grievances and bruised egos.

Second, a review of the tape shows that among her many distracting ticks that made her look like a hyperactive three-year-old fidgeting through a long sermon, Pelosi surreptitiously began tearing the edges of the pages to make it easier to rip them in half on camera later, a sure indicator that it was a planned stunt to get attention and not some spontaneous protest.

If you don’t see it, here’s a still that makes the pre-torn marks crystal clear.

As always, the Babylon Bee was immediately on the case:

If the Democrats thought Pelosi's ripping-up-the-speech snit fit and sitting and stewing sourly and silently through great news for America and moving tributes to heroes were going to help them with voters, guess again. Even many Democratic voters were repulsed by their selfish, unpatriotic and juvenile behavior. CSPAN asked for call-in comments, and they were brutal. One man said he’d been a Democrat for 70 years but he was so disgusted, he’d probably stay home rather than vote this year, adding, “They looked like a bunch of dadgum idiots sitting there."

It went over even worse with the special guests who were honored during the speech and disrespected by Pelosi and her pack of mean girls and boys.

Mitch McConnell poured cold water on her stunt when he followed the impeachment acquittal vote by suggesting Pelosi might try to tear up Trump’s acquittal like she tore up his State of the Union speech. He then immediately scheduled confirmation votes on more Trump-appointed judges.

Personally, I would suggest that next year, Trump print his State of the Union on a New York City phone book and toss that to Pelosi -- except that next year, I expect Trump to still be there but a Republican to be sitting in the Speaker’s chair. I do think it would be great, though, if Trump opened his next rally by taking out two pieces of paper and saying, “Impeachment Article One” (rip it slowly in two and toss), “Impeachment Article Two” (rip and toss.)

And now that our long national tantrum is finally over and the spoiled children have been spanked and sent to bed, let the grown-ups get back to making America great again!

Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz announced that he’s filing an ethics complaint against Pelosi for her flagrant violation of decorum as defined under clauses 1 and 2 of House Rule XXIII, as well a potential criminal violation of 18 USC 2071, the federal law against destroying or mutilating any official government record. Ironically echoing Pelosi’s own rhetoric about Trump, Gaetz declared, “Nobody is above the law. She must be held accountable.” Of course, I doubt that anything will come of this. After all, if destroying official federal records were illegal, Hillary Clinton would’ve been held to account for it, right?

Well, I spoke too soon about the adults getting back to working on helping America: Rep. Jerrold Nadler is already working on a second quixotic lunge at impeaching Trump.

Nadler says that when you have a lawless politician, you have to do whatever it takes to protect the Constitution. He’s absolutely right. That’s why it’s imperative that all of us do whatever it takes to kick the Democrats out of the House next November, put law-respecting adults back in charge, and send Nancy Pelosi, Adam Schiff, Jerry Nadler and their ilk off to the Retirement Home for Leftist Political Hacks, aka MSNBC.

Excellent point by Andrew J. Siascia at Western Journal: the same leftists who want us to put them in charge of all Americans’ health care are publicly rooting for Rush Limbaugh to die of cancer because they disagree with his political views. Isn’t that a comforting thought? But don’t worry, I’m sure they plan to offer excellent public health care in the gulags Bernie’s field organizers are fantasizing about sending Republicans to.

Its time to stop this, (nothing will probably happen) well its time to make it happen. They have done something wrong, so prosecute them. That includes Hilary, Obama, Biden and anyone else that has done something in regards to a violation of the Constitution. Quit being nice, and get in their faces with charges. Make them pay back the tax money they waisted on the BS of false accusations. We the people should not have to see our taxes waisted for their need to show a power struggle and personal financial gain.

As also has been pointed out- Ms Pelosi began the evening by not announcing the President in the traditional way, shortening the traditional announcement by leaving out " privilage" and " high honor". It was more or less " here he is".

I am sad to say I watched the "snubbed" handshake "performance" several times myself to confirm what I thought I had noticed. I'm in agreement with you that he was already turning around when she, in my observation, hesitated just long enough to put out her hand to make sure he didn't see her. I was so very disappointed in the absence of dignity and respect for the office of the President, the lack of respect for all her colleagues (not just her opposition), and the lack of pride in the tradition and the privilege of being in the hallowed chamber of our government. Thank you, Mr. Huckabee, for all you do to further the use of good common sense, clear and unbiased thinking, and real expressions of faith with appreciation for our God-given privileges.

Everybody talks about the damage being done to the democrats by acting childish, but for years the democrats have been a damaged bran. But the MSM always bails them out by trying to make them look good. How can you embarrass these democrats, they are aloof in their own little world, you can say nothing to shame or embarrass them. They turn everything around that you say about them and use it against you. They don’t care how bad it makes them look, as long as to their own thinking they are right and every one else is wrong.

Thank you, governor, for reporting truth. I’m so sick of Nancy and her gang. While I wanted to listen to the president’s address, I turned on something else the minute I saw Nancy behind him with all of her ridiculous facial gestures. I knew I wasn’t going to be able to focus in on the important words he had to say with her disgusting behavior. I sincerely hope the American people get rid of these thugs in November. Enough is enough!

It is a disgrace that Pelosi and her comrades are not punished for breaking the law. Further more, their lies need to be listed on an official document and they should be prosecuted for attempting to overthrow the United States government!

    1. "right to organize act" or CA Bill 5 .....the construction industry many years ago forced each and every "employee" / "independent contractor" to form his own construction company (I worked in Commercial Insurance & Bonds) do not remember if it was "unions" or "govt regulations" ........really "stupid" ideas - pushes thousands to "out of work" - drives up the COST of everything
    2. they should have put a white sheet over Nancy before Trump entered the room .............3. I viewed all those "white uniforms" with BLOOD of 64 million abortions on them 4. Sad when Americans cannot even watch the State of the Union address with absolutely everything going in the RIGHT direction without the "mental retards" showing their "stupidity" "disloyalty" and ............

Just read that Nadler was going to attempt another take down of the president; how can his actions be allowed? does he not have a regular job to do rather than chase the president? is his behavior not criminal? This stuff has to stop and hopefully it will in november when we replace all of the lunatic Democrats..........God help us.

I still cannot believe how unprofessional Nancy Pelosi was during and after the President's State of the Union address! Watching her when President Trump announced he would be ending "late term abortions" & then tearing the speech showed how much hate she has for anything that our President and so many Americans stand for. Her punishment should be "time out" but unlike a child, permanently.

    Nancy's behavior is disgraceful.
I wish 500 hundred Americans fed up with this behavior in Washington would march into the house of Congress with pink slips for these so called public servants before the 2020 election. Enough is enough-Between the Democrats in Congress doing nothing but waste tax-payers money on their hatred of a duly elected President (showing hatred for the Americans who elected him) the evil men like George billion pockets who finance this behavior, the deep state men and women adding to this corrupted climate that we Americans have never experience before; the time has come to act. Enough is enough!! We want Law and Order and Sanctity Restored!!

Governor, I watched President Trump's "Celebration Speech" this morning, after watching Nasty Nancy's "news" conference, in which, besides repeatedly saying the same things over and over, she took credit for the accomplishments of POTUS, and his being able to work with the Senate (she truly is "unhinged"). I felt that the President's speech today was even better than his SOTU. He called out his incredibly loyal supporters by name, thanking them for their hard work and tireless support. I was proud for Louisiana when he singled out Rep. Mike Johnson and Steve Scalise.
