President Trump and Iran

June 22, 2019

One thing we’ve learned over the past couple of years is that many in the media cover President Trump by writing some angry, outraged headline about what they think he would say or do, then writing the story to try to make it match the headline.  And so, many of them took to the airwaves and social media the second Iran shot down one of our drones to warn that the crazy, belligerent Trump was about to plunge America into war.  In fact, House Democrats were already doing what they always do: rushing to find a way to block Trump from doing what he might think he had to do to protect America.

But then, a funny thing happened.  With military leaders just minutes away from launching retaliatory strikes, Trump called them off.  You might say that he decided to nuke the liberal narrative instead.

https://www.westernjournal.com/trump-offers-inside-look-new-details-regarding-iran-retaliation-decision/

As he explained to NBC, he asked how many Iranian casualties might result from the strikes.  When told about 150 people might die, he said he decided that was not proportional to shooting down an unmanned drone, so he called off the strike to come up with a more measured, appropriate response.

Just as Trump has proved to be a really incompetent “racist” by helping create so many jobs for African-Americans, and a very bad “Nazi” by being the best friend Israel’s ever had in the White House, he’s now disappointed rabid Trump haters who assured us he was a hotheaded war monger and who miss the cool, measured style of Barack Obama.

Say, that reminds me: you know who wouldn’t have hesitated to order drone strikes that would’ve killed a lot of innocent bystanders?...

Ironically, it’s thanks to another Trump policy vilified by his critics that we have options for dealing with Iran other than missiles.  Trump removed the shackles that Obama put on America’s energy industry, leading to a boom in US oil and natural gas production.  That means we’re no longer dependent on oil exports that have to move through Middle Eastern shipping channels.

https://asia.nikkei.com/Opinion/Asia-has-most-to-lose-if-Middle-East-turmoil-hits-oil-supplies

So now, if Iran’s belligerence disrupts Middle Eastern oil exports, Asia will suffer most. That means Iran won’t just be America’s or Israel’s problem.  It will be a problem for Japan, Indonesia, Korea, India and most of all, China.  In short, Trump’s “drill, baby, drill” policy to make America energy-independent may force China to step up and help make Iran behave without us having to fire a shot.

You might consider that unexpected bank shot as Trump’s devastating retaliatory blow against not only Iran, but all the NeverTrumpers in the media.

We finally have a president who stands his ground doing what is best for the U.S.A. He seems to be able negotiate deals and respect for consequences possible from no deals. When he speaks people listen! Iran is finding that out with the sanctions they are now getting for not being willing to agree to a nuclear arms deal. A lot of threats were made but so far all that has happened are the sanctions and they are being quite effective. This president seems to be able to get along with the leaders of China, Russia, North Korea, etc. and is able sit down with them and negotiate without ending up giving the country away our putting us in a world war crisis. Another four years and he might just make America great again! One nation under one God!

Mike - If I didn't believe so strongly in what the Lord has given me for this very moment in time, I would not keep replying to your request for suggestions on how to assure President Trump is re-elected. Just today I saw an email about a very wealthy man who pledged his financial support to assure Trump is indeed reelected. That is one individual. We need to unify non-partisan support from the masses, not with large contributions necessarily but in support of a 'Humanitarian Rescue Mission' that will grow and 'Snow Ball' in Global Markets as well as in the USA. If the 'Rich Man' wants to do a 'Matching Fund Program' in support of both the campaign and a Humanitarian Rescue Mission, that could significantly amplify the effort. I suggest you assign a 'Staff Member ' to research and determine the viability of what I propose. In previous emails, I referred to it as "Global Quarry Projects". If need be, I will come to Arkansas for a 'Formal Presentation'. The quicker we can move from 'Word Exchange' to 'Action Projects' ... the more effective they become for building International Relations and gaining Popular Support. Think of ways we can strategically use this as a 'Trump Supported Project'. Someone like Sarah would be perfect to head up such a Project.

P.S. Projects in North Central Texas and Equatorial Colombia could be started simultaneously. Colombia will be a great International Partner for setting an Example of International cooperation supporting Humanitarian and Environmental Rescue. Give me a good contact email for a Staff Member so I can begin sharing information.

I am in agreement with President Trump and pray that enough of the liberal sheep and the quiet conservatives come out and start talking up the things that Trump is doing for all citizens of the United States. For the first time in a very long time we have a leader that is doing what is best for the people and the country. Now, if we can get rid of the most of congress, we can get our country back and renew the respect our Constitution deserves.

    President Donald J Trump,

Dear Mr. President, our daily prayer to God is to bless and protect you and your family, and all the people around you and their families, and to give you sound and good judgement in all the affairs you deal with.
We ask God to keep you focused on His Plan, no matter what the problem is. There is no coincidence in God's Plan nor has ever been one. Trust in Him and He will guide you to the correct and good path.
This we pray in the name of the living Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen

this whole thing was comical. Dems screaming for war and bitching about NOT getting the war. He was wise in a sense not to react about a drone. Not that is wasn't an act of war. Now if Iran attacks our troops or ships, expect a response and a swift, harsh one. We have assembled a task force strong enough to take out Iran send it back to the 10th century. The leaker needs to be dealt with and harshly. The leaker on the ICE deal needs to be dealt with publicly AND very harshly. His actions cannot be tolerated.

Trump is dealing with a party that no longer hides it's Marxism and it needs harsh treatment. Indictments would help. if hilary wants to take down half of DC then let's take them down. Treason, sedition and related crimes need direct action and as public as possible. The Dems want take over, time to give it to them and NOT be politically correct about it. This is OUR country and not theirs. I don't know where they live but it is now apparent that the USA is not it.

Makes sense only if it hurts Iran. Otherwise, we need an exceptional tactical response.

Governor, the "Iran Deal" is/was, a terrible thing!! How do we trust Iran to inspect themselves? then send them an untold amount of cash? They are the biggest supporter of terrorism on the planet! The "deal" John Kerry and the Obama administration worked out was an abomination; thank goodness the Senate never ratified it! it was dead on arrival, as it should've been! i would guess President Trump pulled us out of a deal that never was, unless i've missed my guess!

    Gov Huckabee,
Great article! I am very glad we have a man in the White House that not only has business savvy, but also has a conscience and convictions! I am also glad he has "backbone" and is willing to put words into action! Our citizens, nation and world are better off! (And even some Democrats! Lol!)

Trump did remove the shackles of the energy industry, one of the states governors, New Mexico's Loony Lujan snuck a bill in that is restricting gas and oil production, part of the new green deal without voters attention to it or say against or for it. To me that is undermining the president and needs to be handled immediately with severe consequences.

He is our president and a wise and canny one! I like the fact that he listens to his advisors and then makes his decision. What more could we ask from him. I trust his instincts they have not failed us yet!

I am always encouraged by your articles, Mr. Huckabee! Thanks for sending them to me. I encourage President Trump to follow his common sense agenda, which I feel is directed by God for the most part. Thank you, President Trump, for stepping up to the call. I will continue to pray for you and the administration. God bless you!

This President is not a war monger. He wants to stay away from war. However, he will do what it takes to keep us safe, the troops safe, and civilians in the foreign country safe.
If provoked, by a ruling class from Iran or an other country, you can be assured he will take action based on information that is thought out, reliable intel, and Is truly serious enough to take action. He would be swift and try to protect as many innocents as possible. He does need to keep his mouth shut when he meets press and starts threatening action, and changes his mind at last minute.

Thank you Sen. Huckabee for your wisdom and humor regarding the media attack against our President You and your daughter Sarah see what God loving Americans understand about the stance taken by our President in many of the decisions made since he has taken his oath to lead our country. The blind always lead the blind and while I’m humbled to give an opinion about any of this I point to our creator God who knows all and give him the praise and no one else for His hand on America to help us ALL be humbled at this hour We must bow to pray and seek His face. He tells me don’t be complacent during this time. I know I must stay on my knees for my family our country and it’s leaders and for our President and Vice President and their families. God bless you and yours! May we seek him and may wisdom from the most high always be used That’s why I believe our president made the decision in response to Iran’s antagonistic display.

I am Naval Academy graduate, nuclear missile submarine Captain, and served as head of Joint Chiefs Office of Nuclear Weapons negotiations with USSR. During my JCS assignment, I briefed Joint Chiefs and attended many meetings in the White House, and understand the complexities of dealing with international challenges. I do wish that the President had taken a stronger response to the last provocation from Iran, but don't have all the facts, obviously. Overall, I believe he is doing a wonderful Job.

Iran's current regime is not a friend to anyone in the mid east . The sabre rattling only gets so much attention. They become like children playing with matches and gasoline.
The results are usually horrific, even for bystanders.
The population are the ones that suffer from regimes such as Iran's.
President Trump doesn't need to play the role of a tough guy, but if provoked we have the resources. The Ayahtolla can see the writing on the wall. He doesn't want to be seen as weak, during an invitation to talk with the President. However if they want to raise the ante to nuclear firecrackers, it may gain them short lived status in that territory. Never knowing that the weather report for Tehran was 5,000 degrees centigrade for a high that day. Both sides need to talk about consequences and how to avoid them. Put your best foot forward and extend a gesture to listen to each others concerns. The starting line may not be that far from the finish line.
Experience is what people get when they didn't get what they wanted. Negotiate with wisdom and may both sides feel they have done thier best for peaceful resolution and prosper from it for generations to come.
God Bless America and our President .
    TRUMP 2020 !!!!!
