As I can tell from the outpouring of kind messages (much appreciated!), I’m sure you’ve already heard the news that my daughter, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, will be stepping down as White House Press Secretary at the end of June.  I know that many people are disappointed that she’s leaving, but remember: she’s not only held one of the highest-pressure jobs in Washington for two years while raising a family, but prior to that, she was the Deputy Press Secretary, worked on the Trump campaign, and helped run my 2016 campaign.  That’s a long time to spend on the political treadmill without a break.

I agree with you that she’s been the best person ever to hold that job, and she’s held it under some of the most trying conditions in history.  I once thought that her lifetime of growing up and working in politics made her uniquely qualified for the job.  I didn’t realize that her experience as a mother of three in dealing with unruly toddlers would turn out to be her most valuable asset, as she daily had to face a White House Press Corps that had devolved from professional adult journalists into a pack of angry children throwing a never-ending tantrum because their preferred candidate lost.

Outside the White House, the tantrums continued, as enlightened liberals from the cable news channels to the late night shows to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner targeted her with some of the most hateful, vitriolic, personal and sexist insults imaginable.  Even the owner of an undistinguished restaurant (who apparently doesn’t know what the phrase “hospitality industry” means) demanded that she and her family leave, just to virtue-signal her own pettiness to her leftist friends.  I’m immensely proud of her not only for how well she did her job, but how she handled all the unfair criticism. Sarah stood up to this unprecedented onslaught of ugly, childish insults with calm grace and dignity.  Fortunately, there is no shortage of places where she is appreciated and welcomed (I’ll point out that last week, she dined with the Queen of England, which I daresay was a big step up from that unfriendly chicken joint.)

Speaking of appreciation, the announcement of her departure was accompanied by effusive praise from President Trump, who said, “She is a very special person with extraordinary talents, who has done an incredible job…I hope she decides to run for Governor of Arkansas – she would be fantastic.”  I agree that she’d be great at the job, but come on!  I’m already known as “Sarah Sanders’ dad!”  Leave me something!

Joking aside, everyone is asking me what Sarah plans to do next, and I honestly don’t know.  Unlike many people in the political world who say they’re leaving to spend more time with their families when that really means they’re leaving one step ahead of a doomed reelection bid or the sheriff, Sarah really does want to spend more time with her family.  Beyond that, I’m sure she has a fantastic future, and that it will include sharing a real insider’s view of the Trump White House that sets the record straight about a President she saw at close range and admires greatly.  That will be a much-needed tonic after all the fake news and muckracking by hacks citing “unnamed sources.”

As Sarah said yesterday, “This has been the honor of a lifetime. I couldn’t be prouder to have the opportunity to serve my country, particularly to work for this President. He has accomplished so much in these last two-and-a-half years…I’ve loved every minute, even the hard minutes. I love the President.”

I can’t wait to see how the mainstream media will spin that as being bad blood, turmoil and “chaos” at the Trump White House.

Here is another very nice tribute.

Sarah did a fantastic job!! Even though I hate to see her give up this position, I thank her for the 2 years she had put up with the unimaginable abuse she received from Washington liberals and so-called journalists (some of the most unprofessional people I have ever seen). I pray she and her husband and children can spend some quality time together this summer as a family. May God continue to bless them and keep them in His loving care. She will be missed, though.

Mike I agree that Sarah was arguably the best press secretary in white house history. Thank you to you and the whole family for sharing her with our nation. I also want to know what you think of Candace Owens being considered to replace her I think she is a rock like Sarah and the media would no know what to do with her up at the podium.

    Thank you

Sarah is more than amazing!! She’s done an excellent job as Press Secretary!! I love that she included her morals and Christian values when responding to the press. She handled the disrespectful and rude press with such intelligence and grace!!! She has been my favorite person in the White House!! I’m happy that she will be getting away from the rat race and constant negativity that came with her job. She more than deserves some down time with her family. In time, whatever God’s plan is for her, I have faith she’ll be a blessing!!

Sarah you did a fantastic job, in a room full of wicked press, raging wolves, bunch of snakes! God put a hedge of protection all(with Grace and Firmness, putting them in their place) around you, as he has done with president Trump & VP Pence! Satan is mad, we look to the Lord Jesus Christ! Darkness HATES the Light! John.3:19-20. Besides, being a lovely lady. Praise the Lord! PS.Time to get him reelected, surround him in prayer!

she will definitely be missed - no one in my lifetime (i'm 73 yrs old) has had the cahoonas (sp?) to stand up to the idiots who are allowed to ask their assinine questions that have little or no bearing on the topics our citizens need to hear - it's a shame she couldn't teach them about the severe neglect their parents gave them in their lack of pats on the back (early enough, low enough, hard enough & often enough) - i'll bet sarah would've been a pro with a switch or a paddle, either one - may God bless her & her family & lead her to great & mighty things for, & within, her faith, her family & her nation!

God bless Sarah and her family.Thank you for doing a job well done and in the face of unprecedented unwarented media attacks. My husband and I would often talk about what a wonderfully excellent job she did standing up against the vicious left mobs and we would be prompted to pray for you. We were always amazed as I saw her remain steady amongst the wild slanderous wolves of the left. Grace and truth and beauty is who Sarah is. Nobody can change her beautiful self inside or out. God is her Strength and will continue to be. I admire her job and am so thankful that she filled her duties as our White House Press Secretary. She was great! We also admire her for running your campaign (we voted for you). And we're also proud of work as Deputy Press Secretary, working on the Trump campaign! 9 we voted for him too!) God bless you too Mike Huckabee and your wife for raising a daughter that can stand for truth and justice in the face with boldness and grace and knows who her is in the name of the Lord. God bless you all. We stand with you in prayers. Sincerely , Victoria Tucker

Sarah was so perfect at her job as press secretary. I, among many others, loved seeing and hearing her. She handled everything so well! Surely God had a hand in directing her to that place at that time. I'm so very thankful for her. I wish her well, always, and hope she does indeed enjoy having more family time for awhile.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders, One in a million. I would vote for her for any office she would choose to run for! A truly beautiful young woman who can stand her own against any liberal, toxic, phony, attack dog on the left. Sometimes I wanted to hit those who say they are journalist and then insult and never apologize to her for the insults they made without taking the time to say how sorry they were when she had to leave with her family before having dinner, setting an example to those children that they should never have been a party too. Those aren't people I don't know what you call them . I hope she takes a real break and enjoys those beautiful kids for awhile. Thank you Sarah for your time and Thank your family for allowing us who believe in America to have your beautiful face before us for these past years. Thank you for giving back to the so called journalist and let them know you are intelligent as well as beautiful. Blessings to you, your Dad and Your Family!
