The Democrats’ efforts to intimidate Sen. Joe Manchin into toeing the party line not only haven’t worked, they seem to have made him even more independent, maybe because polls show that he’s by far the most popular Democrat in West Virginia. Now, it’s as if he’s just deliberately rubbing their noses in it for fun by endorsing the reelection of a Republican colleague.

Manchin said it doesn’t matter if he’s a Democrat and they’re Republicans, they’re “good people,” “they’ve been my dear friends, we get a lot accomplished and I think the country has fared better with us working together than not.” So “why in the world wouldn’t I want to work with them and continue to work with them?”

Sure, it’s Alaska’s Sen. Lisa Murkowski, whom even a lot of Republicans would like to replace, hence all her conservative primary challengers. Still, when you’re trying to ram a leftist agenda down America’s throats with a 50-50 tie, having a fellow Democrat act like a bipartisan statesman and endorse any Republican’s reelection has got to feel like your party’s symbol the donkey just kicked you in a sensitive area.

Thank God we have Joe Mansion!
He's the Republican stealth weapon that we really need right now!

Although I am not a Sen. Manchin fan (and am not from his state, so I'm sure it doesn't bother him) I have a lot of respect for him because he has moral courage. He is willing to stand up in the face of his own party, who is drunk on power and seemingly wants to dismantle the future of this country as we know it, and do the right thing for our kids' and grandkids' futures. We have very few actual statesmen in politics right now, and I count him as one of them. He looks out for his constituents and the good of the country as a whole. As for his endorsement of Sen. Murkowski (who is also not a fan of mine) I think it takes guts and at the very least it shows that his moderate left leaning is willing to reach across the aisle to the moderate right leaning individuals to get Senate business accomplished. God bless them both and I place the results of the upcoming election squarely in the Lord's capable hands!

I'm not impressed by Manchin's endorsement as Murkowski is waaaaay more Dem than Republican and WILL LOSE the upcoming election!!!

As a former Alaskan, Lisa Murkowski is an embarrassment and sold out her party. She needs to move and stop representing the fine conservatives in Alaska.

Rabid partisanship has destroyed the Congress over the past 50+ years. Democrat party should be driven out of the House entirely. Republicans have little to be proud of. I don’t know where we’re going. Neither does the ‘President’. Much corruption in this country, from Washington to local school boards. I like Manchins guesture.

She's a never-Trumper RINO. She voted to convict Trump in the last impeachment scam. She is not one of us, but neither is she a democrat, so I guess it's a start for Manchin, although not a real sincere one. I doubt that his endorsement will keep her from losing the 2022 primary.

I was raised in WV and very proud of it. When Senator Manchin was the governor of WV he seemed to really care about our state. My brother who is a pastor in Buckhannon WV, was at the Sego Mine with one of the families whose loved one was killed in that accident. He told me Governor Manchin was wonderful to those families and well liked all over the state. Then he came to DC and we were so disappointed by how he forgot about WV. My prayer is that he has repented and turned back to God and is letting Him lead him in his decisions and his life.

Joe Manchin is actually my Senator from WV. He is probably the only Democrat I feel trustworthy! I’m very proud of him for his latest most appropriate actions when it comes to some of the ignorant thoughts and attempts to pass something in Congress that is disgusting and detrimental to the American people!
