GUILTY BY HIS OWN STANDARDS

Joe Biden’s adamant denial of former staffer Tara Reade’s sexual assault allegation may be enough for Democrats who are doing Olympic-level backflips to back away from their previous “believe all women” statements. And the press, naturally, is helping by trying to dig up any discrepancies in Reade’s story and to question her motives, something they never did with Kavanaugh’s accuser, who was declared to be one of the greatest heroines of the year.

But that hasn’t stopped the questions about whether Biden had minions remove papers from archives, or whether he’s trying to hide evidence, or even, according to Greg Gutfeld, whether he made a slip of the tongue that gave away more than he intended.

And of course, the Trump campaign already has an ad ready to point out his hypocrisy…

As I have said consistently for years, whenever such old allegations are made against anyone, be it Kavanaugh, Trump or Biden, the accuser deserves a respectful hearing, but the accused deserves the presumption of innocence and due process to get to the truth. That was sometimes a very lonely position to stake out, although I do suddenly have a lot of Democrats keeping me company.

WHAT APPLE DATA REVEALS

Apple data provides more proof that I was right when I refuted the idea that Americans are now docile sheep who will stay in their houses indefinitely, wait for all-powerful government to tell them what to do as it violates their civil rights. In reality, most Americans are responsible citizens who will follow guidelines only as long as they believe they’re reasonable and necessary. But the minutes they sense that the government is being unreasonable, unfair or dictatorial, they will start doing exactly what they please and tell the government to go take a hike.

As I also said, this is why “Democratic socialism” will never take root in America. The people pushing it are nothing but unreasonable, unfair and dictatorial. Most Americans would pay as much attention to their orders as a cat pays when you call its name.

"HUCKABEE" PREVIEW

Some states are starting to open up, but at “Huckabee” on TBN, we never shut down! And we have another great new show for you tonight! My guests will include Acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf, actor Dennis Quaid, best-selling author and pastor Ruth Graham, and Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt, who will tell us about her new book on the gift of forgiveness. His previous scheduled appearance had to be postponed, but now, magician Reza of “Penn & Teller: Fool Us” will magically appear with an astounding illusion. And we'll top it off with a visit and music from country superstar Lee Brice!

All that and more is coming tonight at 8 and 11 EST, 7 and 10 CST, and the same times on Sunday, only on TBN. To find where you can watch TBN, from local cable and broadcast channels to streaming, visit https://www.tbn.org/huckabee and click on the “WATCH” menu at the top. You can also stream previous episodes, highlights and Internet-only “Digital Exclusives,” like extended interviews, extra performances by our musical and comedy guests, and my extra "After the Show" commentaries like “Facts of the Matter” and the crazy news “In Case You Missed It.” It’s all at https://www.tbn.org/huckabee

TWO FRIDAY BRIEFINGS

Friday, President Trump held a special White House briefing to honor American citizens who are making a difference and doing heroic work in the midst of the fight against the coronavirus. You can see it here:

And new White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany held her first press conference. I think she did great, and if you don’t mind my saying so, she has a tough act to follow.

She also got high marks from some of her predecessors.

But she did get a taste of what’s to come from the respectful and unbiased lion’s den when an AP reporter asked her to “pledge never to lie to us from that podium.” I like one of the comments below the video: “I will pledge not to lie if you pledge not to ask stupid questions.”

Considering it’s the A.P., I might have said, “I’ll pledge not to lie if you’ll pledge to stop lying.”

NOTE TO JIMMY KIMMEL: CHINA IS TO BLAME

I doubt this applies to anyone who reads my newsletter or website, but those who get their “news” from leftist late night comedians (I mean the actual comedians, not the ones on CNN and MSNBC) may be shocked to learn that China is responsible for the COVID-19 (Chinese) coronavirus and for causing thousands of needless deaths by lying and covering up the truth. This will definitely come as a shock to Jimmy Kimmel’s viewers, since on Thursday, he mocked President Trump for talking about reports that the virus escaped from a lab in Wuhan, calling it a conspiracy theory that he “feeds the wingnuts” to try to blame this pandemic on China.

The next day, a secret dossier was leaked, compiled by the intelligence agencies of the US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. It details the many ways in which China covered up the truth while allowing the virus to spread, including censoring news and social media, destroying evidence in the lab, refusing to share samples with other nations, denying that it could be transmitted from person to person, and “silencing” doctors who tried to speak up. While there’s still disagreement on whether it escaped from the lab (Australian intelligence puts the odds at only 5%), Fox News cites multiple sources as saying that US intelligence officials are increasingly confident that it did.

I wrote yesterday about the Atlantic magazine article that claimed there’s too much “misinformation” on the Internet, so to protect society, we need to replace free speech with a Chinese-style system of government policing the Internet to insure that only “experts” get to speak. If China is their shining example of a government that protects the truth, and the WHO is their idea of trustworthy “experts,” then I think we’ve found the "wingnuts." They’re writing for the Atlantic magazine and hosting late night comedy shows.

Bible Verse of the Day (KJV)

And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

Ephesians 4:32 (KJV)

As far as I know, that "secret" fund created many years ago to resolve sexual harassment complaints against our esteemed elected officials in the house and senate remains "secret." It would be helpful to taxpayers to know against whom complaints were lodged and the manner in which the complainant was remedied (e.g. the amount of hush-money paid). Wonder if there's anything in the records of that secret fund related to Joe Biden's "hands-on" approach? Some years back, I understood that the fund would be abolished and its records made public. That was the last I heard so I decided not to hold my breath as I do with lots of things. If I missed learning that the records are freely available, they would be worth checking to see if there's anything that pertains to Biden. If the records are still "secret," maybe now's the time to open them to the scrutiny of taxpayers who unknowingly paid for it.

    Hi Mike:
I'm a retired educator with 40+ years experience as a chemistry teacher, high & grade school principal, school superintendent, and I've been a professor at three different universities. I retired in 2012 and now I'm an author and book publisher with IngramSpark in Nashville, TN. My first book was published in 2017, "Write Well Right Now: A Guidebook on English Grammar, Punctuation, and Writing." And I'm currently writing a second book titled "Study Smarter, Not Harder: Over 77 Ways to Improve Your Study Skills In Just Minutes A Day." Would you be willing to write a testimonial for my second book? (Three university presidents wrote testimonials for my first book.) The book hopefully, will be finished in six months or less. One of the chapters in my book will be "Advice From Experts." It will be practical suggestions/tips from a cross-section of people including students, teachers, professors, medical doctors, attorneys, dentists, computer people, etc. who have studied smarter and become successful in their chosen careers. I've had "Excellent" suggestions/tips. The website of my first book is www.writewellrightnow.org. Thank you for your consideration. Bill Koenecke

Mike, do you have to show "that state" on your Huck Pac Endorsments? Wouldn't you rather show the other "I" states? Iowa or Indiana would be swell. We have way too many liberals moving here from the "C" state down under where they're escaping the misery of liberalism and then bring the same mindset here with "Bernie" bumper stickers proudly displayed on their Prius's. I will practice the Bible verse and be kind to them.....even forgiving their driving!
