As John Solomon points out in his latest report on the FBI, Congress created the Federal Bureau of Investigation to “investigate crimes and stop foreign intelligence and terrorism threats.”  It was never intended, by any stretch of the imagination, to be a power broker for our elections or, heaven help us, to strategize an execution of the 25th Amendment to depose a sitting President.  But, according to new testimony from then-FBI special counsel James Baker, that seems to have been exactly what was going on.

Baker, as the FBI’s top attorney at the time, would presumably have been involved in the FISA application and three subsequent renewals for the surveillance of one-time Trump campaign associate Carter Page.  So his testimony would be central to investigating the allegations concerning the abuse of this process.  It was believed by those questioning him that he could shed light on why the political origin and inherent bias of the Steele “dossier” was withheld from the FISA court (as if we didn’t know).

Hurricane Michael Update

By Mike Huckabee

Special Note on Hurricane Michael: You might have heard that my house in Florida is in the path of the hurricane.  That’s true, and we are battened down and awaiting the storm.  I didn’t evacuate for several reasons: first, we are about 70 miles west of Panama City, and while we expect to get hit hard with the edges of the hurricane, our neighbors to the west will be taking the brunt of it. We hope you will pray for them and pitch in to help them recover once this passes by.  Also, my wife Janet is working as a volunteer at a local shelter, and we want to be here to offer our aid and support to those who need it most.  Finally, when we built this house a few years ago, we built it to withstand a category 5 hurricane, so we believe we will be safe.  Not my favorite way to test the contractors’ skills, though!

I will continue to conduct business as usual with the aid of my trusty staffers, but if there are some interruptions and delays over the next couple of days, I’m sure you’ll understand.  In the meantime, please pray for those who are truly facing the brunt of what threatens to be a catastrophic storm.

A terrible crime in Georgia

By Mike Huckabee

More news courtesy of the party that claims to protect women from sexual predators: the Department of Education is investigating after a five-year-old girl in Decatur, Georgia, was allegedly sexually assaulted in a school bathroom by a male student who claimed to “identify as gender fluid” and was allowed to use the girls’ restrooms.

It’s a terrible crime, of course, but who could possibly have foreseen any problems with allowing males to go into girls’ bathrooms and locker rooms as long as they claim they feel like women inside?  Other than every person with a functioning brain for millennia?

About that claim that Trump’s border wall was going to cost us more than it saved…A new study says no.

And on a related topic, thanks to the policies of the “party that protects women,” a previously-deported illegal alien allegedly followed a mother of two into her home, knocked her unconscious and repeatedly raped her for an hour in Nassau County, New York -- where the liberal “sanctuary city” policy had prevented him from being turned over to ICE agents for deportation.  Do the Democrats seriously think Americans will vote for more of this because they think Brett Kavanaugh doesn't care about women?

In search of civility

By Mike Huckabee

Hillary Clinton claims that if the Democrats win back the House and/or Senate next month, “civility can start again.”  So does that mean they’ll stop cursing us, calling us rapists and Nazis and white supremacists, destroying our property, slandering our reputations, threatening our families, assaulting us on college campuses, screaming at us in restaurants, and shooting us at charity baseball games?  Does she mean that if we go along with their protection racket by giving them more power over our lives, that they’ll suddenly start acting like civilized adults again instead of a crazed, violent mob?

No deal.

Latest example of the left's "If you want civility, bow down to us!" tactics...

And to give you an example of Hillary’s own definition of “civility,” here she explains why there’s a “significant difference” between the accusations of rape and sexual assault against her husband and those against Trump and Kavanaugh.  Yes, a number of differences, including that Hillary told us to believe the accusations against Republicans.

A certain coastal West Coast County has such propaganda built into the higher educational system that if a conservative viewpoint is voiced that the person gets an angry response and is permanently shunned. And any person who voices a Christian viewpoint receives the same treatment. One can be Buddhist, atheist, Muslim, etc., no problem. I am sure other coastal West Coast Counties are the same. It won't be long before out and out persecution happens, due to the virulent left wing propaganda. All local newspapers have the left wing propaganda machine rolling. Very few persons with a conservative viewpoint dare respond in the Letters to Editor sections. It is a time in our nation's history that may be very close to the end of our Republic as we know it! Pray mightily for our nation to have a resurgence of the Holy Spirit to fall on us and bring us back to God! I tell you, marijuana is worshiped more heartily by far than the Lord.
