Too paralyzed to act
There’s an old saying about certain people’s problems, that “it would take a heart of stone not to laugh.” That sprang to mind when I read this account of how many leftist activist groups are too paralyzed to act because their own members are such delicate snowflakes that they’re preventing people from concentrating on accomplishing their mission by claiming to be triggered over countless grievances and focusing only on themselves. I thought that WAS the mission of these groups?
Oh, and Heaven forbid anyone complain about all their distracting whining, because that makes them REALLY triggered!
I’m not a betting man, but if I were, I would definitely bet the farm that none of my readers stayed up late last night to watch AOC on the Steven Colbert show. Fortunately, to coin a phrase, Nick Arama watched it so you won’t have to, and summarized the many blasts of mind-boggling stupidity spewing from both sides of that conversation like lawn sprinklers.
Woody Williams RIP
I am sad to have to report the passing of a genuine American hero, The last surviving World War II Medal of Honor recipient, Hershel “Woody” Williams, died this morning at 98. All of us here extend our prayers and sympathies to his two daughters and their families, and our gratitude to this remarkable Marine who was honored for his outstanding heroism in the Battle of Iwo Jima. You can read more about him here:
Better yet, click on this link to see the salute we produced to him and fellow Marine Charles “Bert” Mulligan on “Huckabee” and the interview that I was honored to have with Hershel “Woody” Williams.
Welcome to the club
NATO is formally inviting Sweden and Finland to join the alliance after Turkey dropped its objection.
Everyone will now be watching for Vladimir Putin’s reaction. He’s been threatening retaliation if any nations like Finland that border Russia join NATO. That was part of his rationale for invading Ukraine. Will he move Russian troops and equipment to the border with Finland? And does he have any to spare at this point? More details at the link.
Thanks to the Biden Administration destroying border security, law enforcement is dealing with a flood of deadly fentanyl coming into the US. But you can’t put all the blame on idiotic leftist policies from Washington. You can also put it on idiotic leftist policies in certain states like California, where two suspects who were caught with 150,000 fentanyl pills in their vehicle were ordered released on their own recognizance just 18 hours later.
Apparently, they were given a “risk assessment” and found not to pose enough of a risk to the public to hold them. Want to hear about “risk?” According to a Fox News report, fentanyl is 50 to 100 times more potent than morphine, and has become the leading cause of death for Americans age 18 to 45, killing more people in that group between 2020 and 2021 than COVID-19, car accidents and suicide. Is that not risky enough to hold them in jail, even for California prosecutors?
Anyone who had “Fourth of July fireworks shows” in a betting pool on what great thing about America the Biden Administration will ruin next can collect his money now.
Not everyone is happy at Disney
It’s good to know that not all Disney employees are happy with the leftward, “woke” drift of the company. In fact, it’s likely the board is yielding to the demands of a small minority running roughshod over the majority. Many have complained anonymously for fear of losing their jobs, but one Disney employee is bravely speaking out publicly, and in a big way.
Jose Castillo is a resort duty manager at Walt Disney World. He believes that “We need to let kids be kids,” and “Our children should not be subjected to indoctrination by special interest groups.” He also told the New York Post that Disney’s decision to pay for abortions for employees is just the latest political stance that will alienate customers and a breach of fiduciary duty to stockholders. He also said, “We must protect and defend those that cannot yet fight for themselves.”
But isn’t he risking losing his job? Yes, but he has his eye on another one. He’s one of six candidates for Congress in the August 23rd GOP primary. His campaign site reads, “I’m not afraid of losing my job. I’m afraid of losing my country.”
He sounds like the kind of stand-up, moral, everyday hero that Disney used to make movies about, back before they went into the LGBTQ+ message service business.
Here’s a term I’ll bet you haven’t heard in a long time: “Gas sale!”
Kudos to this convenience store chain for giving drivers a break this Fourth of July. Let’s hope it sparks the return of another term we haven’t heard in years: “Gas price war!”
I JUST WANTED TO SAY:
