MORE ELECTION UPDATES
Election Updates (And did you ever imagine we’d still be doing these after Black Friday?)
Friday, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals in Pennsylvania rejected the Trump campaign’s challenge of the state’s election results, ruling that they didn’t provide evidence of fraud and that federal law doesn’t have jurisdiction over state election laws. The Trump campaign expected that and said this will expedite their appeal to the Supreme Court.
The thing that gets me about this is the way the opinion was written. "Ballots, not briefcases" sounds more like a slogan from the DNC’s Twitter feed than a legal ruling. Besides, ballots don’t determine elections, legal votes do. That reasoning pretty much lets state officials off on ANYTHING they might do to taint an election. And if federal courts have no jurisdiction over states when it comes to national elections, what was Bush v. Gore all about?
After hearing Rudy Giuliani’s presentation of evidence of voting irregularities last week, Pennsylvania State Sen. Doug Mastriano and other Republicans are seeking to withdraw the certification of the state’s vote and reclaim the legislature’s power to appoint electors.
To the surprise of absolutely nobody, Twitter suspended Mastriano’s personal account. After he accused them of censorship in an attempt to keep him from posting to his Senate account, Twitter claimed the ban was a “mistake.” Which I would find easier to believe if they could point to any example of anyone on the left ever being “mistakenly” banned at a moment that was especially useful for the conservative side of an issue.
Question: Since Twitter and Facebook keeps putting disclaimers on every Trump tweet and every post about vote fraud to tell us that this “contains claims that are under dispute,” why don’t they also put that on every story that refers to Joe Biden as “President-elect”? It’s a hard fact that he is not the President-elect, at least not yet, and his presumed win is definitely under dispute because the Trump campaign is disputing it in court. So where are the nagging disclaimers, guys?
Speaking of social media censorship and bias, Twitter even put one of their “This claim about election fraud is disputed” labels on a news story about a Rasmussen survey that found that 47% of Americans believe the Democrats stole the election.
Even though the story contained a disclaimer parroting the line that “There is no evidence that any voting system deleted or lost votes, changed votes or way in any way compromised,” Twitter put the disclaimer on it anyway. So…what’s disputed? The story didn’t say there was voter fraud. Are they disputing that the poll found that nearly half of people believe there was voter fraud? Are people no longer even allowed to hold personal opinions without having some leftist in Silicon Valley approve of them first?
Once again, I’ll remind you that Parler.com is the Twitter alternative that values freedom of speech.
There’s a lot more I could write, but I’ll just end with this: an affidavit filed by Republicans in Nevada claims that there was a suspiciously high spike in voter registrations that are missing the age and sex of the voter and that list casinos or RV parks as their home addresses. In 2016, there were 68 voter registrations missing this critical information. In 2020, there were 13,372. If it were anyplace other than Nevada, I’d have a hard time believing there were that many people who live in casinos and refuse to tell you their age.
RISING BACKLASH AGAINST GOVERNMENT IS SPREADING ACROSS IDEOLOGICAL LINES
The rising angry backlash against endless lockdowns and arbitrary rules that don’t have any effect on the spread of the coronavirus and are just making matters worse is starting to cross ideological lines. Case in point: even rock stars are getting fed up with seeing live music crushed and musicians’ livelihoods destroyed. So much so that Van Morrison has written a new song opposing lockdowns, and Eric Clapton is recording it to raise money to help struggling musicians.
"HUCKABEE" PREVIEW
Join me tonight for a very special Thanksgiving weekend edition of “Huckabee” on TBN, when we set aside the serious issues for an hour of great entertainment. My guests include the #1 star in Las Vegas, comedian/singer/impressionist/ventriloquist Terry Fator. Actor/writer David Payne will perform a scene from his smash one-man show on the life of C.S. Lewis. We’ll have plenty of laughs with goofy news “In Case You Missed It.” Then Don Reid of the Statler Brothers will join us, and he'll introduce the great country duo Wilson Fairchild, featuring his son and nephew. If you love the Statlers’ harmonies (and who doesn’t), then you will love this group!
It all gets rolling tonight at 9 EST/8 CST, on TBN. To find out where you can watch TBN, from local cable and broadcast channels to streaming, visit https://www.huckabee.tv and click on “Channel Finder” on the top menu. You can stream previous episodes, highlights and online-only “Digital Exclusives,” including extended interviews, “In Case You Missed It” and “Facts of the Matter” segments, and extra performances by our great musical and comedy guests, all at https://www.huckabee.tv. "IF IT WEREN'T FOR DOUBLE STANDARDS" DEPT
CNN reporters savaged President Trump for allegedly promoting COVID-19 deaths by saying that Americans will “gather” for Thanksgiving, but they didn't say a negative word about massive “gatherings” of BLM protesters and Biden supporters.
MY WEEKEND MONOLOGUE
I hope you and your family have had a wonderful Thanksgiving, although if you live in CA, NY, MI, or IL, I guess you sat alone in an empty house having a Swanson TV dinner with turkey & dressing since you were threatened with arrest if you actually gathered with your family. That is if you gathered to have Thanksgiving. Because if you saw your family, you might die! Of course you were perfectly free to go to a casino, a strip club, host a riot or loot and burn a business. But you’ve been forbidden to go to church where you might sing or chant. The only exception is that if you’re a lobbyist friend of CA Gov Gavin Newsom, you are allowed to have a lunch that costs about $700 a person and no mask is needed.
For a government official to close businesses and then order you to close your home to your own relatives is pretty extreme. Granted, I’m sure some of you were delighted to be able to tell your relatives not to come to your house for Thanksgiving due to orders of your governor. But for many of us, it’s really none of the government’s business how many people I have in my home and the purpose of our being together. And I’ve decided that if a government official at the local, state, or federal level believes he or she has the power to shut down my family Thanksgiving or my business, then the official doing that should forego his or her paycheck until I start getting mine again. It’s so easy for people who get paid by taxpayers and never miss a paycheck to take away your paycheck or mine. Shouldn’t they have to live under the same circumstances they imposed upon us?
One thing is certain—like I said last week, there are plenty of turkeys this year, mostly in the form of elected officials imposing strict demands for us peasants while ignoring those rules for themselves as they go out to eat, go mask-less, and in the case of CA lawmakers, head to Hawaii after an 8 hour plane ride for a conference to “learn” stuff, all at taxpayer expense of course. Couldn’t they have just had a Zoom call like our kids and grandkids have had to do since they closed their schools?
You’re probably sick of turkey by now, and maybe sick of politics as well. I have great news—we can’t eat your leftovers for you but we can have a show that will be pretty much devoid of politics, but richer in entertainment and fun than your Aunt Clemmie’s pecan pie.
That’s just what we have tonight and you’re going to love our special guests for our show. So hang up the phone with your relatives, make yourself a cold turkey sandwich, and enjoy a special after-Thanksgiving, Covid free night of information, inspiration, and entertainment on the Huckabee Show!
