The panic gripping Democrats
In his own hilarious way, Kurt Schichter writes about the panic gripping Democrats as they wake up to something I’ve been saying for years: most Hispanics are hard-working, religious, family-oriented, patriotic Americans, and they’re not going to vote for crazy, radical, anti-American leftists just because of their ethnicity – which Party leaders have been counting on to keep them in power.
Justice Samuel Alito spoke remotely Thursday from inside the Supreme Court building, which is under heavy security due to pro-abortion protesters. Here’s what he had to say (spoiler alert: mob intimidation tactics are not influencing Court business.)
Fact-checking the WASHINGTON Post
It's a big week of partisan nonsense for the Washington Post. First, the paper ran a guest op-ed demanding that George Washington University change its name because the Father of Our Country is too un-PC -- apparently not realizing the irony of that coming from the WASHINGTON Post.
Then, the chief “fact-checker” for WaPo scolded those who criticized the Biden Administration for supplying “pallets” of baby formula to illegal immigrants on the border. Glenn Kessler called that “a ridiculous faux outrage. The shortage of baby formula is a serious issue that the administration is seeking to address. But at the same time, the administration cannot be faulted for following the law and providing baby formula to undocumented immigrants.”
Kessler said that the 1997 Flores Settlement details how border facilities must meet the basic needs of detained illegal immigrant minors, including providing age-appropriate food and drink, and "Anyone who suggests this is the result of specific Biden policies, i.e., his ‘reckless, out-of-touch priorities, earns Four Pinocchios.”
Well, Glenn, speaking of earning four Pinocchios, where did you get the idea that the baby formula shortage is a “serious issue that the Administration is seeking to address”? It’s partially caused by the supply chain crisis, which I’ve seen little evidence of them doing anything much about (remember how our “Secretary of Transportation” took office and immediately went on parental leave?) The White House claims they’ve been working on this “for some time now,” but when asked what’s being done, when they started and who’s in charge, they can’t provide any answers.
As for the requirement that baby formula be available in illegal immigrant processing centers, nobody wants those babies to go without formula. But there wouldn’t be a need for “pallets of baby formula” to be shipped to the border if Biden’s policies weren’t responsible for an unprecedented flood of illegal entrants overloading the system. I’d call his focus on open borders over solving the supply chain crisis for American parents a perfect example of his “reckless, out-of-touch priorities.” And anyone who suggests that isn’t true deserves four Pinocchios.
Twitter deal on hold
Elon Musk’s deal to buy Twitter is temporarily on hold, but he says he’s still committed to completing the deal. Oddly enough, the snag is a report finding that fake spam/bot accounts really do account for less than 5% of Twitter users. I think it came as a surprise to many that so much of what’s on Twitter was actually real.
Join me tonight on TBN for a great new episode of “Huckabee!” I’ll welcome back “WalkAway” founder Brandon Straka, to recount his nightmare of being targeted for prosecution over January 6th. Clint Emerson, formerly of Navy SEAL Team Six, will tell us about his new book. Magician Eric Jones is back to amaze us. We’ll laugh at the news with “In Case You Missed It,” and with the Skit Guys, who’ll give us a peak at their first feature film, “Family Camp.” Then we'll top it off with the fantastic music of the Texas Tenors!
It all starts at 8 and 11 EST, 7 and 10 CST, and Sunday at 9 EST/8 CST on TBN. Russia-Ukraine War update
This is the latest Fox News report on the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Russia is reportedly making ”incremental gains” in the eastern Donbas region. But there are anecdotal reports that Russian troops, and even some officers, are not fighting as aggressively as expected and even disobeying orders. That’s not a problem with the Ukrainian forces fighting for their homeland against them.
Meanwhile, in Ukraine’s second-largest city, Ukrainian forces appear to have won the battle that’s raged since Russia attacked in February. Russia seems to be pulling back its troops in the face of a strong counteroffensive and not trying to hold its positions.
Project Veritas and the FBI
James O’Keefe of Project Veritas obtained FBI documents that suggest the agency is waging a political vendetta against his organization based on false statements to courts (déjà vu!) The documents show that in its investigation of President Biden’s daughter’s missing diary (and WHY is the FBI even investigating that?), the agency called Project Veritas a “news media” organization. But in a court filing, they claimed PV does not engage in journalism, which strips them of legal protections for journalists.
O’Keefe said the documents were provided by an FBI special agent who told him that “there are a number of very troubling things that are happening within the FBI, and I would say that the direction the agency is headed troubles a vast majority of the agents.” He added that the FBI wields an incredible amount of power and if used improperly, “the country cannot sustain its largest law enforcement agency.”
I’ve been writing for years now about the disturbing and worsening politicization of the DOJ, FBI and other government agencies. I always try to stress that this is the leadership, not the rank and file agents. But other conservatives have argued that if the agents had integrity, they would be standing up, speaking out and resigning rather than going along with the corruption and destruction of their agencies. Maybe this is a welcome signal that those agents have finally had enough and are starting to stage their own revolt from within.
