Right before the Democrat debate Tuesday night, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced that, for now, she would not be holding an official vote on whether to begin formal impeachment proceedings against President Trump. “We’re not here to call bluffs,” she said. "We’re here to find the truth to uphold the Constitution of the United States. This is not a game for us. This is deadly serious. And we are on a path that is, is getting –- taking us to a path to truth and a timetable, uh, that respects, um...our Constitution.”

We get it: Nancy is all about the Constitution. (I’ll pause for a few moments while you fall to the floor laughing.) So, hey, if Democrats are for impeachment –- and the Democrat candidates in Tuesday’s debate said they were for it –- why isn’t Pelosi moving forward with formal proceedings? Aside from probably not having the votes for it to pass, the answer is so obvious, I hardly feel the need to point it out, but I will anyway.

Right now, Pelosi is under a lot of pressure from the far-left “AOC branch” of Congress to impeach for any reason or no reason, but by skirting a formal inquiry with the bizarre sort of semi-inquiry they’re doing now, she also gets to run it as a “No-rules-for-me-my-rules-for-you” process. Official impeachment hearings have always been held in public, in front of the cameras, and congressional Republicans would have subpoena power and be able to call and cross-examine witnesses. Trump would actually have due process rights like other Americans! But when Democrats got their great “whistleblower” idea, they had no idea that Trump would opt for transparency and release the transcript with Ukrainian President Zelensky, showing the “whistleblower” to be full of beans and the whole plot to be as phony as Adam Schiff’s lying “parody” of their phone conversation. (In breaking news, 135 House Republicans have co-sponsored a resolution to censure Schiff for doing it. Good luck with that, but at least they made a statement.) And now, Schiff is saying the “whistleblower” won't be testifying.

No kidding --- he doesn’t DARE let this person be questioned. We'd demand to know exactly how he or she coordinated with Schiff’s office, especially before the complaint was filed, what this person was doing in the 18 days between that contact and the filing of the complaint, and why that contact was not disclosed on the official complaint form. According to Mark Meadows, “...What we’re finding is that Adam Schiff only wants to have witnesses who will give the response that he hopes that they will give, and even at that, it’s ‘a swing and a miss.’”

Brit Hume, talking with Tucker Carlson Tuesday night, said of Pelosi, “I frankly can’t think of a good reason from her point of view why [Pelosi] WOULD hold a vote.” First, he said, it exposes vulnerable Democrats from districts that Trump carried in 2016. “This way, she gets to get all the fruits of this peculiar investigation...and none of the downside. They’re conducting a very unusual investigation –- you look back to the Nixon impeachment, which is the most widely accepted impeachment inquiry we’ve ever had –- it was overwhelmingly voted for, but in addition to that, the proceedings were very balanced, very fair...Nixon had his lawyers involved in the process...none of that is happening here. This is all being done behind closed doors...”

Brit pointed out how effective the “Ukraine” scenario has been for Democrats, at least up to this point. Since they pivoted from “Russia” to “Ukraine,” the polls have shown much more public sentiment in favor of impeachment. It’s “a very effective thing that Pelosi and her colleagues have going in the House.” How ironic, then, that the REAL Ukraine scandal is not anything Trump did but rather what officials there did to help Hillary in 2016; for example, the leaking of former Trump campaign director Paul Manafort’s “black book” of payments for Ukrainian lobbying. Then we also have the extremely lucrative involvement of Joe Biden’s son Hunter in Ukrainian natural gas company Burisma and Joe’s threat to cut off $1 billion in aid to Ukraine if the prosecutor investigating Burisma wasn’t fired. Hunter definitely didn’t help his case when he went public Tuesday in an unfortunate appearance on GOOD MORNING AMERICA. Even in this puffball interview, it was pitifully obvious that the only reason he would have been put on the Burisma board was that he was the Vice President’s son.

In breaking news Tuesday night, FOX News’ chief congressional correspondent Mike Emanuel reported that the White House has opened an internal probe into the handling of the Zelensky phone call, with some expressing the concern, “it could be a search for a scapegoat.” Well, if he means finding the anonymous White House official who approached the anonymous “whistleblower” with off-the-rails “concerns” that turned out not to be true, they really should be looking for that person. But it seems to me that the person being targeted most right now by Trump’s adversaries is Rudy Giuliani. Giuliani is Trump’s personal attorney, but due process protections such as attorney-client privilege do not apply to this President or his associates because he's Donald Trump.

This is just the latest twist in what truly is a “bloodless coup” to unseat the duly elected President of the United States. Anyone tempted to dismiss it as a right-wing conspiracy theory absolutely must read the article linked to below, by reporter Matt Taibbi, who (as you will see) doesn’t like or respect Donald Trump in the least but has an objective eye for power struggles and can see what is going on here. He says that while our nation has been spared this kind of mad intrigue until now, that is changing before our eyes. As much as Taibbi doesn’t like Trump, he believes that the people who've been pushing the hardest to get rid of him from the beginning are worse. “Many Americans don’t see this because they’re not used to waking up in a country where you’re not sure who the President will be by nightfall,” he says.

Taibbi sees, for the first time, a “full-blown schism” between the intelligence community and the White House. He goes through the whole chain of events, including the January 2017 meeting of the intel chiefs with the President-elect to brief him on the most salacious part of the (unverified) Steele “dossier.” He says the leaks from this meeting “without question damaged both the presidency and America’s standing abroad” and was “an unprecedented act of insubordination.” He explains how, by using a pattern of leaks and political pressure, the agencies have inserted themselves into domestic politics.

And now, with the Ukraine story, “it’s the same people beating the public drums, with the messaging run out of the same congressional committees, through the same Nadlers, Schiffs and Swalwells.” While he doesn’t give Trump enough credit for recognizing what’s been going in the “deep state,” and I think he’s shamefully wrong about what Trump would do if faced with his own ouster, Taibbi’s observations and warnings about this coup are spot-on. THIS IS A MUST-READ.

I am getting really frustrated at all the dishonest politicians in our government. Every day there is a new report about all their misgivings but nothing is ever done to them. When is justice going be served and these criminals brought to trial? I am 82 years old and a conservative, but I do vote with an open mind. This so-called impeachment inquiry is a joke as was Russia investigation. It seems to me, Congress is not doing the job they were elected to do.Spending all this money on wasted investigations that are taking them nowhere. Taxpayers fed up and it hopefully will show in the elections.I coulld not watch the so-called debates of clowns on stage

Absolutely great article. The bigger picture of the impact of this organized resistance and impeachment query is being missed. The impact on our country will be non-reversible. Power will remain in the hands of those within the Justice Department and the FBI who have carefully planned this entire resistance/impeachment plan. I have to give them credit...their plan has worked dividing our country; increasing anger and hatred to an all time high...however, with the albeit, false belief that there are “more of them” than there “are of us.” Isn’t that what happened in the 2016 election? Arrogance and as my Southern mother used to say to me as a teenager, “You’re getting too big for your britches!”

It really is tough to deal with a bunch of idiots! "Crazy Nancy", "Shifty Schiff", notice that I cleaned that up, "Fatty Nadler", and a bunch of other loonies (too many to mention) "crooked CNN", and 12 wannabe candidates for President, much to our dismay this craziness will probably never stop. When are the Republicans going to release their findings that can put an end to some of this? Conservatives have waited for over 5 years for their findings to come to light! How much longer?

Drain the swamp. Start with Schiff and Pelosi. I can’t believe that our congress can not see through this falsehood of accusations against our president

I'm truly saddened by what's become of our dignity and desire for truth in this nation. Nothing is sacred in America anymore. If elections aren't safe what does that say for our future?

What most Americans seem to be missing here is that Pelosi, Shift, Swawell, (the Dems) in proceeding in their current tactics are they, themselves violating their oath of office. Although there is no formal procedure for Impeachment proceedings in the Constitution there are the basic judicial rights that are afforded to all citizens of the USA. The US Congress has an oath of office very similar to the one I took to join the US Military “I A.B. do swear (or affirm) to support and defend the constitution of the United States against all enemies both foreign and domestic.”
To keep this oath of office, the law must be applied equally to every US citizen. In short the procedures for Impeachment are broad but the oath of office for the congress still requires that the basic judicial rights be granted during all investigations.

The latest poll on the pull out of troops from Syria was this,- 71 % in favor of the pull out and 29 % against 49,000 votes totaled. The President is working for the American people and Pelosi & her gang are nothing but totally shameful.

The US Constituition is very clear--Section 5 states that the "House Of Representatives has the power of impeachment---read that again, please--The House of Representatives--it does not say 'a 'commitee', or 'commitees', or if it's raining in Kasakstan at 3:15 PM on a Thursday--It say s the House--that means the House--all of them--I don't recall seeing any affidavits that all the House folks voted on to ascribe their wishes be represented by a few commitee members(that would be illegal in any event).
In this issue, I don't care if Trump DID do any "high crimes"--the man deserves his rights-- the process has been subverted by a few rabid nutcases who are on the verge of being purged by the swamp drain--and they are demonstrating daily why they should be 'drained'--
The really sad result of all this is the "you owe me" bunch that elected these wastes of skin--

Now the Dems walked out of another meeting--which is what people do when they are losing an argument.Someone needs to tell Schumer, it's not Trump's job to contain ISIS. It's each country's job to secure their borders and keep ISIS out. Our constitution doesn't mention containment--anywhere. But it does direct the president and Congress to secure our borders. That's where the effort and money should be spent.

The Dems have been pushing to reverse the 2016 election ever since they lost Their Queen as not crowned and they are still trying to re-take power. Now there has been a lot of name calling and a lot of refocusing by the Dems- they have tried to divert the attention of the American voter so they could get something they think would get President Trump impeached. However just like the ridiculous efforts by Adam Schiff- who could never call himself the honorable- these too have no basis

President Trump's decision to withdraw troops from Syria is now hurting him more than the Democrats' threat to impeach him! In response to the many emails I have received from the Trump team asking me for money, have I...with the chance that someone just might read them...made a cry TO them that President Trump needed to get himself a spiritual advisor who truly KNEW Christ
...because one can know all ABOUT Christ and not know Him! President Trump gives mental assent to the reality of Christ, but he is not a born again Christian
...and my love for this man expressed that TO him because Jesus SAID, "unless a man be born again, he cannot inherit the kingdom of God"...and, therefore, the President's ETERNAL destiny was at stake if he did NOT become born again..and NOW his whole re-election might have also been at stake...because...HAD President Trump BEEN a born again Christian...and, therefore, a mind through which Jesus thought, he never would have MADE the decision he made about withdrawing our troops out of Syria!

I am so worried about our President. I feel like all of us should go surround the President with our guns, especially during the rally in Texas tomorrow night. There are tweets coded by evil Dems calling for the assassination of President Trump, as quoted on Twitter. Please pray.

I agree that same as with the Russian investigation it is as President Trump has said "a Witch Hunt". There needs to be a term limit on all of elected politicians. The Democrats have proven that they do not listen to the truth nor do they want the facts!!!

Hmm, well I read it all and it was lengthy and I probably didn't quite follow all his theories/truths but understood enough to know it is scary. But I have a theory too....we are living in the last days and God is in control. I am not worried.

    10/16/2019 04:20 PM

God is in control. I personally believe that God put Mr. Trump in the White House as he placed David as King due to his courage and his belief in God. Mr. Trump has changed a lot since his election, steering constantly to Gods will and not backing up. I believe God heard our prayers after 8 years of Obama tearing down the foundation that our great country was built on.

Glen Beck is back with his chalk board(s) to explain this whole mess from the escalator ride to today. For 90% of the public this whole mess is so convoluted that even as close as I watch it's easy to get tangled in the weeds. I have come to the conclusion that if it's aired on the legacy media or CNN and MSLSD( Lysergic acid diethylamide) I know it's nothing more than DNC propaganda. I have now abandoned any hope of getting anything near the truth from conventional outlets and Snopes and True or False as fact checkers is like asking the Fox to guard the Hen House. Thanks for keeping the Real Story Front and center.

WOW the same folks who went silent as H. Clinton destroyed HER file server, post receiving an order to surrender it, are now clamoring like an all symbol marching band. Trump may have moved the files to a more secure server but he did not destroy them and the systems they resided on. So now they want to use that act to try to impeach the POTUS. yet still won't charge Hillary with obstruction or contempt??? KURDS, Trump narrowly escaped a hornet nest that was being tossed. had we "hung in" as the Turks came over the boarder we would have been in a battle with a member of the NATO Alliance. Caught between Turks, Kurds and Syrian forces that would have cost a lot-o-$$ and taken a long time to settle.

Can what the Dems in the House are doing result in actual impeachment? That is, the Star Chamber from which Republican members are basically barred, no defense allowed, etc. have the power to impeach w/o the full House involved?

Last night I finally heard Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell complain from the floor about the so-called impeachment investigation by the Dems in the House. If the shoe were on the other foot, you can bet the House the Dems would be in full attack mode, yet the GOP meekly allows this circus to continue. I sympathize with a GOP that has little public voice in the face of a Dem- monopolized media, but it will only get worse. The Dems are ochestrating this theatre without any plans to impeach, hoping four years of negative publicity about Trump is sufficient to win the election for a Dem. We no longer have a free press in this country, our schools have brainwashed our kids to love socialism, and we seem to be doing nothing to slow down this train wreck. I pray constantly for this country and for our government, but other than that I am not sure what else I can do. Parents could start by seeing what is in their kids' textbooks and teaching them American history rather than the revisionist stuff being forced into their brains. Which reminds me: kids in California and Illinois are already forcing kids to learn LGBT history with our without parental consent. Parents are not allowed to opt out their kids.

I am a Vietnam Vet, having served three tours (in-country), one tour each in Thailand, and the Philippines; then three and one-half years in Germany! So, yes, I do consider myself a True Patriot; and an avid supporter of my President,
President Trump! As a Vet, I would definitely “take a bullet” in the defense of our President. So, why aren’t the members of the GOP raising hell of this dumb Impeachment circus? Why can’t our Prez go to the courts over this!
