The great Canadian humorist Stephen Leacock once came up with a perfect image for the way the media have dealt with covering Trump: He wrote of a lord who “flung himself upon his horse and rode madly off in all directions.” Reporters are so wired over after any whiff of a story that might reflect badly on Trump that they ride off in all directions and never stop to consider whether the story is accurate or even plausible, or if it completely contradicts the last anti-Trump story they rode off after.
One simple example: Forbes estimates that Donald Trump’s fortune has declined by $600 million since he ran for President, because of all the business deals he had to walk away from and all the boycotts of his brand by petulant liberals. Trump as a $600 million "loser" is being gleefully trumpeted on the very same liberal “news” sites that also told us with absolute certainty that he didn’t really care about making America great again, he only ran for President to “enrich himself and his cronies.” Someone get the word out to those sites’ comments sections, where people are still snarkily repeating both stories, which lends a touch of the oxymoronic to what’s normally just moronic.
