BIBLE VERSE OF THE DAY

Possible GOP candidate for President earns "60 Minutes" hit piece

By Mike Huckabee

Good news for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis: the mainstream media must think he’s the frontrunner for the 2024 GOP Presidential nomination. Of course, you can only tell that because they’re obviously so determined to destroy him that they’ll trash their own reputations with garbage “exposes” like the one “60 Minutes” ran on Sunday. So there’s a downside. But I doubt many Republicans put much trust in CBS (“Fake but accurate!) News anyway.

Jennifer Van Laar at RedState.com has a good rundown on the “60 Minutes” hit piece and why it’s complete hooey.

In short: the claim is that DeSantis let Publix drug stores have the coronavirus vaccine first because they donated to his campaign. And since Publix serves Palm Beach County, DeSantis let wealthy seniors “cut the line” to get vaccinated first.

The Director of the Florida Division of Emergency Management, who is a Democrat, denounced that claim as “utter nonsense,” saying that all major pharmacy chains were offered the vaccine, but Publix was just the first one that was ready to distribute it.

Worse, DeSantis already spoke about this, but “60 Minutes” deceptively edited the video, cutting it off before he got to the part explaining the vaccine rollout.

Read the Redstate article to see how low the media will go to kneecap any Republican they see as a threat to Democrat power. Meanwhile, I’d like to address another aspect of this story, and that’s how it’s based on a ridiculous false stereotype that the Republicans only care about the rich.

That one’s been repeated until it has a gray beard longer than Santa Claus’s. But I’d like to ask the “60 Minutes” reporter and others who parrot this outdated old saw, just WHO are these ultra-wealthy people the Republicans cater to? Are the tech billionaires like Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg and Jack Dorsey Republicans? Amazon founder and Washington Post owner Jeff Bezos? Mark Cuban? All those Wall Street bankers that Trump hated and Obama bailed out? Hollywood celebrities and entertainment moguls? Jay-Z? The CEOs of Delta, Coca-Cola and Major League Baseball?

It’s Republicans who tried to secure the border and create jobs for working Americans, who finally saw their wages rise for the first time in decades. The minute he got into office, Biden issued a flurry of executive orders destroying those jobs and flinging open the border to insure a steady supply of low wage workers - great for wealthy corporate CEOs but terrible for workers, whose wages are depressed by mass immigration.

The GOP has become the party of the working class and the Democrats the party of wealthy urban elites. The reason they have to keep screaming “racist” at everyone who tells the truth about them is because their biggest fear is that minorities and working people who’ve been voting Democrat for decades out of force of habit will wake up and realize that times have changed, this is no longer their grandpa’s Democratic Party, and the people running it couldn’t care less about what’s good for everyday working Americans.

About that CBS interview with Hunter Biden

By Mike Huckabee

While some of us were dealing with much more important news on Easter Sunday morning, CBS aired an interview with Hunter Biden, and as always with him, the truth remained harder to find than an Easter egg.

There’s yet another twist in the story of his “alleged” incriminating laptop: the one that the media told us during the campaign was possibly Russian disinformation (the FBI, DOJ and Director of National Intelligence all agreed that it wasn’t), then banned the New York Post’s story about it from social media for being based on “hacked data” (it wasn’t: Biden left it at a repair shop until it became property of the shop owner.)

This time, he admitted that it “certainly” could be his laptop, although he also claimed he had “no idea,” and added, “It could be that I was hacked, it could be that it was Russian intelligence. It could be that it was stolen from me.”

Note: it isn’t any of those things (see above.) It could be a brilliant forgery created by space aliens of the 24th century and dropped off at a repair shop in Delaware via time machine, but that’s probably not true, either. But I wouldn’t be surprised if NPR ran with that story next.

Major corporations cave to the Left

By Mike Huckabee

Coca-Cola, Major League Baseball and Delta Airlines are among the corporations who’ve caved to the left and are trying to boycott or punish Georgia for passing laws to insure election integrity, laws that they apparently haven’t even read because they actually make it easier for legally-qualified voters to vote, despite the multiple lies told by President Biden. And despite the fact that multiple polls now show more than 70% of Americans support voter ID laws. But speaking of being forced to show your ID…

Coke requires people to show an ID to attend their annual shareholder meeting…

…Major League Baseball requires photo ID to pick up baseball tickets at Will Call

…Of course, we all know how many ID showings, metal detectors, long lines, security checks and body cavity searches you have to suffer through to get on a Delta Airlines flight.

There are even very strict ID requirements to visit the Biden White House…

I had no idea all these good liberals were so intent on bringing back Jim Crow.

Also, a number of commentators have pointed out that some of the same if not stricter voting rules have prevailed for years in Biden’s home state of Delaware, but he never called them “Jim Crow on steroids.”

In a related story, here’s how some of these “woke” corporations, including Coke, Delta and Disney think Georgia doesn’t come up to their high moral standards but are perfectly fine with cozying up to the genocidal communist government of China.

Democrats telling verifiable, previously debunked, outright lies

By Mike Huckabee

When I say that the Democrats are lying about the Georgia law, I don’t use that word the way the media use it against Republicans; i.e., calling an opinion I disagree with a “lie.” No, I meant they are telling verifiable, previously debunked, outright lies. In Biden’s case, he’s continuing to repeat them even after they’ve been publicly debunked and the Washington Post gave him “Four Pinocchios” for one. While I continue to demand that Twitter and Facebook ban Biden for spreading dangerous, divisive misinformation, I’ll turn you over to Derek Hunter at Townhall, who examines the question, “Are these Democrats liars or are they actually stupid enough to believe the things they’re saying that are demonstrably false?

Personally, when I hear many comments from the left, I often ask myself if they’re really stupid enough to believe that, or if they just think the rest of us are stupid enough to believe it.

PS – After writing the above, I discovered that the hilariously brutal Kurt Schlichter has written a column on the exact same question, are they stupid or lying (it must be on a lot of people’s minds these days.) He also explains why these lies can be dangerous, even when they’re so stupid that not even the leftists telling them could possibly believe them.

President Trump calls for boycott

By Mike Huckabee

While President Trump has called on Republicans to boycott a number of companies that try to blackmail states into tailoring their laws to please the loudest leftists...

...there are some companies that refuse to knuckle under, and they are demonstrating that the yapping poodles are all bark and no bite. Here are just a few

Notice the two things they have in common:

(1.) They told the leftists to take their demands and put them where the sun doesn’t shine.

(2.) They not only didn’t suffer any loss of business, but some got even more business, with Republicans and other supporters of free speech and free thought going out of their way to purchase their products and services. Being condemned by AOC for working with President Trump helped Goya get more first-time buyers who’ve now become loyal customers than any advertising campaign they’ve ever run. No wonder they named her “employee of the month!”

I would compare all these “cancel culture” warriors to the Emperor who had no clothes, but these days, the little boy who pointed out that the emperor was naked would be canceled for daring to question the naked man's right to identify as a clothed person.

A Reader Writes Back...

Governor Huckabee - Thank you for these wonderful articles that bring serious issues to Americans who are smart enough to "pay attention". I am in my early 70's and have been frustrated for years with the lack of concern shown for traditional American values. Yes America has been party to some terrible things in the past - that should not have happened in a country built on "Freedom". But man is flawed and has been since the beginning of time. That should not detract from the fact that our nation was conceived on principles that are worthy, even if we as a people stumble from time to time.

Thank you for encouraging/pushing "real Americans" to stand up for our country. Too many people have given their life for this idea of America, for us to let it be destroyed on our watch. There are a growing number of us that use our small platforms to try and get people to open their eyes and see what the "haters" are doing to our country. If each of us can reach one or two people a day and get them to face what is going on. That will be a start. The next step will be to get them to get involved.

If Washington, the "Misguided Media" and "Cowardly Corporate America" think that "America hating Liberals/Socialist" are a force to be reckoned with, they obviously have forgotten what "America Loving Conservatives" can do - when we stand together. It's time that we remind them.

Thank you for doing what you do.

Governor DeSantis has done a great job here in Florida. I didn’t watch the CBS 60 Minutes episode where they maligned him. They have a biased agenda, and it is definitely left and liberal. I am an intelligent college graduate, and I can form my own opinion. The news media used to report the news instead of what they do today which is laboriously pontificate their prejudiced one sided opinions. No thanks. I am grateful I live in Florida where we have an outstanding Governor. I do believe he will be President sometime in the future.

    Governor Huckabee:
I don't support Coke, Delta or Disney. Only drink coke if I have a stomach problem. Delta tried to kill my husband on a flight back from Mexico several years ago. and Disney is not on my bucket list.
Great photo of Glacier National Park, was there just after my husband passed beautiful place.
I tell all my friends and neighbors about your TV show as I think it's great.
Keep up the good work telling us the "real news" in case we missed the "fake news" on the left!
