Biden wants to bring back the much-hated individual mandate

Less than 2 minute read

Joe Biden tried to bail out his listing presidential ship by giving an interview to CNN.  But even in that friendly forum, it did not go well.  Biden is reeling from getting punched by the left for not being left enough and abandoned by the establishment for veering too far left to keep up with his crazy competitors.

In the CNN interview, he tried to distance himself from the Bernie-style “Medicare For All” scheme by offering a more sensible, workable, popular plan: bringing back Obamacare. I kid you not. And not just Obamacare, but also the much-hated individual mandate, which forced Americans either to buy insurance they didn’t want or couldn’t afford or to pay a tax penalty, leaving them even less money in their pockets to pay for their health care out of pocket. I’m sure this will be a winning issue for the Democrats. Like bringing back typhus.

Biden also made the ever-popular Democratic promise to raise taxes (but only on other people, of course, not you.)  He claims that rescinding the Trump tax cut and jacking up corporate taxes wouldn’t derail the economic boom.  Why, he scoffed at the very idea that people working in restaurants got any benefit from those tax cuts!

How about the benefit they got from someone being able to open a restaurant, make a profit and hire them?  In cities like Seattle, which “helped” low wage workers the leftist way by taxing businesses and raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour, restaurants are closing left and right (mostly left, of course.)

By coincidence, the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office just issued a report estimating that the Democrats’ plan for a national $15-an-hour minimum wage would destroy 1.3 million low wage jobs resulting in a net total loss of $9 billion in income to low-wage families.  Thanks, Democrats!

If you’re looking for a very short edited version of Biden’s CNN interview that provides cheap laughs but nevertheless gives you a pretty good idea of how it went, try this:

You’ll hear, “Oh, man! Come on, man!” about a dozen times, and it finishes with Joe asking if anyone believes that Russian meddling in elections would have happened on his and Barack’s watch.  Yes, Joe. I believe a fairly large number of us believe that…

Uncle Joe just needs to buy him a place in Venuezuella and retire, but Joe please take all 20+ Liberal Democratic candidates with you. This way they can rule the Socialist way and get away with it. I will even chip in and pay for some of your 1 way plane tickets. I am sure it will be very easy to get donations to pay for all your plane tickets !

I can't believe how every generation repeats the same mistakes over and over again. Those left wings idiocy has never worked anywhere, but here we are dealing with the same failing policies that turned Venezuela into a cesspool. But I understand all they want is power, everybody wants power and the perks and not a single one of them gives a hoot about the people or the country.

Biden claims to be the only reasonable, middle of the road Dem running for president. He may have been a decent candidate if he had stuck with that.
His problem is he doesn't have a presidential personality. Obama got it right, picking him as vice-president. Every time anyone is offended, Joe apologizes and moves farther to the left.

People have to understand what an "entry level" position, and the associated entry level salary mean.

An entry level salary is a starting salary offered to a person without former experience in the job being offered. It is not expected that an employee remain at that salary. An employer will quickly see the worth in a new employee who demonstrates dependability, responsibility and an initiative to learn his company's culture and business. Employers desire and need these kind of employees and will take them "under wing" and put them on the fast track to move up the hierarchy of their business. An employee should not be content to stay at an entry level position or salary and an employer will not keep an employee for long who does.

PPACA was Unconstitutional from the moment the Senate approved SA 2786 to HR 3590 on 11/19/2009 (see the Congressional Record for details), which created a Senate-written tax bill with a House bill number (a wolf in sheep's clothing) by using "an amendment in the nature of a substitute" aka "gut and replace". This violates Article I, Section 7, first paragraph of the Constitution, and since they failed to include a severability clause in the 2,000-pages plus of the bill, if any of it fails, it ALL fails. SCOTUS let it rade as within the taxing authority of Congress, but I have not seen that the issue of replacement as a form of amendment decided.

Sadly, I suggest that we are witnessing the suicide of a major Political Party.
The rabid Lefties are very ignorant of economics. The seem to be playing to the "Gimmie, Gimmie, Gimmie" crowd for votes.
